[00:00:00] Hello everybody, welcome back to the Film Buds Podcast. This is episode 1.

[00:00:19] What? It's funny! Because he knows it too. You were thinking the same thing. You're like, I'm making a lot of eye contact with Chloe. Oh Henry is here. That's good. I can look at him as well.

[00:00:30] I'm so used to looking at Chloe. It was amusing. I'm sorry. You know it too though, be fair. Don't look at me. This is episode 110 and my name is Henry. I don't like the times cards. Don't look at me.

[00:00:44] And joining us once again, welcome back to the show, Henry Wilkinson. Hello! Or Henry number two as he's also known. Either one.

[00:00:54] People like Henry number two. Thank you for having me. It's so nice to see both of you. We haven't seen each other since the Halloween party I guess.

[00:01:03] I think we did an episode right after in November and then that was... Oh you're right, we did the Into the Woods. That's right. Was I it? Nope, you were not. Chloe was not. Something was going on with your legs.

[00:01:16] Oh god. I'm such a disaster.

[00:01:19] Call out, call out. I'm sorry.

[00:01:22] I'm going to make a list of how Jamila Jamil will be proud. I'll make a list of all my body parts that are so far are functional.

[00:01:33] Like...

[00:01:34] Right.

[00:01:35] I'm trying to think. I have very good hearing.

[00:01:40] I don't.

[00:01:41] No I know.

[00:01:43] But...

[00:01:44] You obviously have good hands because you're such a good artist.

[00:01:47] Thank you Henry. I've always been very self-conscious about my hands.

[00:01:51] Because they're the hands of a four year old.

[00:01:54] You have great hands, Chloe.

[00:01:55] Henry, first of all, you never look at my hands.

[00:01:58] I've seen your hands.

[00:02:00] They're very small. They're extra- put up your hand right now.

[00:02:04] Better at details.

[00:02:05] Look at that! That's ridiculous!

[00:02:08] I wish we could show the audience the thumbs.

[00:02:11] I'll take a picture and you can put it on the Instagram.

[00:02:14] This is the first picture of us on the Instagram.

[00:02:16] It will be.

[00:02:17] Let me get one that's really close on the hand.

[00:02:20] Perfect.

[00:02:23] What a moment.

[00:02:24] But also, I didn't have knuckles. I still don't really see. I have dimples.

[00:02:28] I have dimples too!

[00:02:29] Oh snap!

[00:02:30] That's why we get long.

[00:02:33] It's the artist. The true artist only has the dim- yeah, it's still full of fold.

[00:02:39] But, thank you.

[00:02:41] I'll put hands on my list if y'all really think so.

[00:02:44] You need to.

[00:02:45] And that might be the end of the list.

[00:02:49] Cheekbones apparently.

[00:02:51] Yeah, you do have good bone structure.

[00:02:53] Friends to the show Kaleigh and Allie, big fans of my cheekbones.

[00:02:56] Oh yeah?

[00:02:57] So we got three whole things on the list.

[00:02:59] Okay.

[00:03:00] Well good.

[00:03:01] Pretty good.

[00:03:02] I like your eyes too. They're expressive.

[00:03:03] Yeah they are, Chloe.

[00:03:04] Thank you! Wow!

[00:03:07] And who would you be without your eyebrows too though?

[00:03:10] That's true. The brows, and they're in now.

[00:03:12] Yeah they are.

[00:03:13] You get lots of comments on them.

[00:03:16] Oh yeah?

[00:03:17] But the T-H-I-C-C eyebrows or what's up right now.

[00:03:21] Are they still in Henry?

[00:03:22] I think so.

[00:03:23] I know Delavine is over.

[00:03:25] No, I think they're still in.

[00:03:26] People are doing weird stuff with their eyebrows now.

[00:03:29] Like the squiggly ones.

[00:03:30] Ew! That's not real.

[00:03:32] That, ugh!

[00:03:33] Even Euphoria wouldn't go there I don't think.

[00:03:36] Did they?

[00:03:37] I don't think so.

[00:03:38] I don't think so because that's hard.

[00:03:40] But I have noticed Euphoria makeup has actually become like relatively mainstream now.

[00:03:45] Yeah.

[00:03:46] And that's awesome.

[00:03:47] People are going for like some dramatic stuff.

[00:03:49] As they should.

[00:03:50] Well we're going into the new 20s, so why else would we not?

[00:03:55] The raging 20s.

[00:03:56] Yeah.

[00:03:57] And by raging, no roaring 20s.

[00:03:59] Roaring, yeah.

[00:04:00] Roaring like a, I was going to say forest fire because you know they say fire is roar but

[00:04:07] this is supposed to be a reprieve.

[00:04:09] Right.

[00:04:10] So just kidding.

[00:04:11] Roaring like the MGM lion.

[00:04:14] Yeah.

[00:04:15] Is that right?

[00:04:16] Is MGM the lion?

[00:04:17] I think so.

[00:04:18] Nice.

[00:04:19] Yeah.

[00:04:20] Well, yeah well we're going to be talking about Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker,

[00:04:27] just bringing the epic saga to a close here.

[00:04:30] I got a mouthful from Mary and Meg about it.

[00:04:33] Oh yeah?

[00:04:34] Yeah, yeah.

[00:04:35] And then we also have a review of Cats, the Wild.

[00:04:40] Oh snap, wait we might have a good, we might be different from everybody else.

[00:04:44] I'm going to be completely different because I love it.

[00:04:47] Yeah, hey watch it.

[00:04:49] That's so exciting.

[00:04:51] Surprise.

[00:04:52] And you're sporting Cats merch.

[00:04:53] Yeah, of course.

[00:04:54] So he's got a hat.

[00:04:55] From the Broadway revival.

[00:04:56] He's got a hat, he's got the glasses.

[00:04:58] That's awesome.

[00:04:59] I'm happy for you number one.

[00:05:01] Thank you.

[00:05:02] I know it means a great deal to you.

[00:05:04] And I'm very glad that you enjoyed it also.

[00:05:07] Good content.

[00:05:09] Exactly.

[00:05:10] Wow, oh that's how I am with Star Wars.

[00:05:12] Really?

[00:05:13] Yeah.

[00:05:14] Wow look at us.

[00:05:16] So diverse.

[00:05:17] And then we might touch on that Tenet trailer, the new Christopher Nolan movie as well.

[00:05:23] Perhaps.

[00:05:24] And then we also have Part 2 of the Best Movie Moments.

[00:05:29] The moments of the 2010s that we started last week and we'll get to that when we get to

[00:05:33] Listen to questions.

[00:05:35] Then we also have some other things we watched like I saw Parasite.

[00:05:39] I watched Gemini Man yesterday.

[00:05:42] Did you now?

[00:05:43] Oh yeah.

[00:05:44] You're just, you really, you got it, you got a taste of that CGI and you couldn't

[00:05:47] stop.

[00:05:48] Yeah.

[00:05:49] Yeah.

[00:05:50] I saw Opening Day.

[00:05:53] Guess you know what I saw Opening Day.

[00:05:55] Little Women?

[00:05:56] Oh yeah.

[00:05:57] I still haven't seen it and I really need to go.

[00:05:59] Do you want to go with me?

[00:06:00] Yeah.

[00:06:01] Yeah, I'm gonna go again.

[00:06:02] I need to get over it.

[00:06:03] I mean because that'll be our narrow.

[00:06:04] I was very upset actually.

[00:06:05] Really?

[00:06:06] But now I should tell you.

[00:06:07] I should tell you.

[00:06:08] Oh Henry so I know.

[00:06:09] You feel for me?

[00:06:10] Thank you.

[00:06:11] I do.

[00:06:12] Thank you boo boo.

[00:06:13] Now I'm going to be honest.

[00:06:14] Okay be honest.

[00:06:15] I've read a lot in my day.

[00:06:17] Yeah.

[00:06:18] The story is called Little Women and they're wearing those clothes and stuff.

[00:06:21] I was always just like I'm so good.

[00:06:23] Thank you anyway.

[00:06:24] So I didn't know the story.

[00:06:26] So I think the story is just naturally irksome.

[00:06:30] A little bit.

[00:06:31] And I am you know I'm a romantic.

[00:06:33] Yeah.

[00:06:34] But not like that.

[00:06:35] Yeah.

[00:06:36] I'm like an idealist.

[00:06:37] I'm like a you know I'm a just no.

[00:06:42] No.

[00:06:43] I'm a just idealist.

[00:06:44] Okay.

[00:06:45] And my parents tell me that's why I'm so often upset.

[00:06:49] Yeah.

[00:06:50] It makes sense.

[00:06:51] There's a lot in the world to be upset about.

[00:06:53] Yeah.

[00:06:54] So I was triggered the whole time.

[00:07:00] But how was he really?

[00:07:01] Chloe how was he?

[00:07:03] Do you need to ask?

[00:07:06] He was unbelievable.

[00:07:08] I'm sure.

[00:07:09] He was so good.

[00:07:11] Yeah.

[00:07:12] Oh my God.

[00:07:13] He was so good.

[00:07:15] He was so good.

[00:07:16] Which is also part of it.

[00:07:18] Because he starts I don't think it's spoilers.

[00:07:20] I wish I had known stories.

[00:07:22] I wish I had known 150 years.

[00:07:24] I had known he gets real sucky halfway through.

[00:07:28] Real dang sucky and he did a very good job of being sucky.

[00:07:32] So fine.

[00:07:33] Yeah.

[00:07:34] But everyone on the tweeters like thank you great girl where you finally made me like Amy.

[00:07:37] And I'm like how did she literally like murder and eat people before like this girl sucks.

[00:07:45] Okay.

[00:07:46] That's literally why I didn't like it.

[00:07:48] We need to watch the version with Winona Ryder.

[00:07:50] Oh, I'm all about Winona.

[00:07:51] And that's a Rand Rapp and Kirsten Dunst and Claire Danes because it's the superior.

[00:07:56] And Christian Bale like literally everyone in that version it is perfection.

[00:08:01] Christian Bale I could see you know I love him more than anyone in my life okay.

[00:08:04] Of course.

[00:08:05] But Christian Bale.

[00:08:06] No, Timmy.

[00:08:07] I mean I love more than anyone in the world but I can definitely see Christian Bale being

[00:08:11] a better Lori for sure.

[00:08:13] Cause that's the other thing Timmy just cut which maybe is part of it too.

[00:08:17] Yeah.

[00:08:18] He's comes across.

[00:08:19] He's Timmy.

[00:08:20] Too mean. He can't be too mean. Too endearing. Yeah, so it's just like this little

[00:08:25] thing. This little precious twig. I thought you were saying twig.

[00:08:29] Well! You would be. Wouldn't be wrong. Yeah, but no maybe a little bit of it.

[00:08:35] I feel like all Jews have to be otters at least because of our eyebrows. Yeah, true.

[00:08:39] You know? I don't know. Henry's have his depth over here. It's fine. It's what you would be. It's okay. Yeah, definitely.

[00:08:48] Anyway.

[00:08:51] I just, I was going with that. Anyway, I should have saved this for later, I guess.

[00:08:57] We've really put Pixar the week up top. I mean, we were gonna review it next week, I thought.

[00:09:03] Oh good! I'll save the rest for later. Yeah, because I thought 1917 was coming out this week,

[00:09:08] but it's not gonna be here until the 10th of January. I genuinely, I guess I prejudged

[00:09:13] you Henry and I'm really apologetic for that. I was pretty sure you wouldn't want to do little women.

[00:09:17] Why would I ever not? What are you doing? I don't know. It's just not your deal, bruh.

[00:09:21] Not my deal. Got period movie. It's a drama. It's all talking. It's probably slow, I'm guessing.

[00:09:29] A little slow. No. It's not? It ain't slow. Really? Okay. It's really good. That was weird to come out of my mouth.

[00:09:35] But no, I love- It's confusing. It's fine. Greta Gerwig. You gotta come back for that.

[00:09:39] Yeah, please have me. Because I need a therapist, okay? Yeah.

[00:09:43] So that's our little sneak peek into my mixed emotions. Greta Gerwig? And I didn't even finish my sentence.

[00:09:47] Florence Pugh? I know. Timothy Chalamey? He was great.

[00:09:51] Chalababy. Yeah. Meryl Streep. Did you even mention Sersha?

[00:09:55] And yeah, in her as well. Queen of the world? Yeah. She's literally the main character. Wait, can I tell you-

[00:09:59] Wait, I don't know if I should- No, it's not a big spoiler.

[00:10:02] Emma Watson wanted to play her so bad. Joe? Yeah. You can tell. It's true.

[00:10:08] But that leads- That proved what I should say what I was going to say.

[00:10:13] What? For all of you out there who are like me, and you're like-

[00:10:17] Emma Watson is the most amazing person in the world. But you can't act sweet girl, so just stop it

[00:10:24] and do your UN thing and look amazing all the time. Not- I'm not in an objectifying way like her suit-

[00:10:29] Of course. Yeah.

[00:10:30] Her suit dresses is what I meant, okay? Yeah.

[00:10:32] She's beautiful and perfect and she puts books in the subway and stuff, but guess what?

[00:10:35] She's so empowering. Guess what, yo? She was actually very good.

[00:10:39] Really? Wow.

[00:10:41] I mean by far the easiest role. Yeah. Still.

[00:10:45] But still. I'm really glad she pulled it off.

[00:10:47] I'm so excited to see her because apparently there's like a lot of buzz in the costuming community

[00:10:54] because they like forced her to wear period accurate costumes after her Beauty and the Beast debacle-

[00:10:59] The whole time. Yeah, the whole time.

[00:11:01] You know actually that really pisses me off because-

[00:11:04] Well, okay. No listen because Timmy didn't.

[00:11:07] Really? Timmy didn't. It was the whole- I read the- you know me, I-

[00:11:09] Yeah. So I read this- there's a long big article about the costume design for-

[00:11:16] It was a weird way that I found it out.

[00:11:20] Anyway, it doesn't matter. There's a personal connection with me somewhere, not directly but whatever.

[00:11:24] Okay, but anyway. But there's this whole thing about how Timothy Shalame's costumes were intentionally not of the time.

[00:11:33] Really? Like older or newer or- I think a little bit of both.

[00:11:37] Okay. Like stylized. Really, oh very. You'll know much more than I-

[00:11:42] Yeah, I mean it'll probably stick out to me, but-

[00:11:44] Yeah and it's supposed to especially in some scenes.

[00:11:46] Now there's one scene where she's definitely like this, but it's like on purpose.

[00:11:52] But the rest of the time? I wouldn't think so.

[00:11:54] Well, so what I've heard is like apparently- I don't know if you like heard me complaining about Beauty and the Beast before but she was like no corsets, no shemises, no undergarments, no-

[00:12:07] Oh sure, sure, sure.

[00:12:08] You know, anything like that. And so for this they were like you're gonna wear them sweet baby girl.

[00:12:14] And so I don't think she has like a- I don't think she's like tight lacing-

[00:12:18] No.

[00:12:19] But she has like foundation garments and everything throughout the film.

[00:12:22] Yeah.

[00:12:23] Which I'm really looking forward to because that's how you get a period silhouette.

[00:12:27] But also to be fair, I understand where she's coming from because she was playing like as Belle like she's playing someone that little girls are supposed to like look up to.

[00:12:38] Idolize and they need to sell Halloween costumes.

[00:12:41] Yeah and emulate even. So like I very much-

[00:12:45] I understand but her dialogue though was really harmful because she perpetuated like negativity about corsetry and undergarments which is like everyone thinks that there's like torture.

[00:12:59] Life from lack of knowledge.

[00:13:00] Exactly, that's what it is and she has such a like powerful voice. You know, she carries a lot of traction and so that like spreads negativity very easily.

[00:13:12] Well that's not-

[00:13:13] And not to like any fault of her own. I think it's just misguided information that she received probably from someone else.

[00:13:21] But overall I probably prefer-

[00:13:26] But also I don't know that much about that but I prefer probably what she did anyway.

[00:13:29] Because again, she's already super skinny and everything.

[00:13:32] Yeah.

[00:13:33] And I know that's not the only part of the whole deal.

[00:13:35] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:13:36] But she is someone that like as a Disney princess everything like little girls would look at and be like oh so I have to look like that to get what?

[00:13:46] Lily James or undergarments though.

[00:13:49] And she looked a little scary.

[00:13:51] She's a queen.

[00:13:52] She looked a li- I agree.

[00:13:54] She looked iconic.

[00:13:55] What?

[00:13:56] Yes, no I mean yes but really Helena was the iconic appearance in that one.

[00:14:02] Yeah true.

[00:14:03] But yeah.

[00:14:04] What about Kate?

[00:14:05] Wait we need to save this for movie moments.

[00:14:08] Movie moments.

[00:14:09] Oh yeah, let me plagiarize though.

[00:14:12] Club I didn't do at home, home time.

[00:14:16] No worries, no worries.

[00:14:17] I didn't realize- wait so was this our last show of 2019?

[00:14:21] More than likely yes unless we do a show early next week before.

[00:14:26] Well you better catch little women's real quick.

[00:14:28] I was gonna see it over the weekend.

[00:14:30] Let's all see it together.

[00:14:31] Yeah let's go.

[00:14:32] Yeah, yeah.

[00:14:33] I'm in.

[00:14:34] Let's do it.

[00:14:35] So alright.

[00:14:36] Oh and now before we start I do have a little surprise so I knew Henry you were coming on

[00:14:43] the show.

[00:14:44] I have a surprise too!

[00:14:45] Oh, what do you think I am?

[00:14:48] Am I a disaster now?

[00:14:49] Yes, however.

[00:14:50] Yeah well so I knew you'd be coming on the show around the holidays so I said hey why

[00:14:56] not give you a little gift?

[00:14:58] No!

[00:14:59] Yes and Chloe I of course got you a gift.

[00:15:03] However the thing is his gift came years has not yet.

[00:15:06] I'm not surprised.

[00:15:07] However it is very possible it's scheduled for delivery today it could come depending

[00:15:12] on the US Postal Service their speed during the episode and of course if it does we'll

[00:15:17] stop everything.

[00:15:18] Get him on the show.

[00:15:19] And unveil it but I do have.

[00:15:20] Get him on the show.

[00:15:21] But Henry I saw this and I said I gotta go for it.

[00:15:25] Oh my gosh I am undeserving.

[00:15:26] I love it.

[00:15:27] We both look we have very consciously done our gifts I didn't wrap mine at all you

[00:15:32] reprised a newspaper and it's not cause we're lazy bones we're just.

[00:15:35] It's artistic.

[00:15:36] We're first conscious.

[00:15:37] But as a thanks for having come on the show over the last six or seven months and as

[00:15:44] just a Christmas gift as well.

[00:15:46] Oh my goodness thank you.

[00:15:47] Yes.

[00:15:48] I feel terrible now because I don't have any for you.

[00:15:50] No no no no no no no.

[00:15:51] I'm gonna bring you a gift.

[00:15:52] Well next time yeah I'm going to open it.

[00:15:55] Close your eyes and do mine first because mine is probably less cute.

[00:16:00] What?

[00:16:01] My present to you.

[00:16:03] For me?

[00:16:04] Yeah you're.

[00:16:05] Man this is what Henry Wilkinson you know.

[00:16:06] Oh my god Henry Wilkinson gift.

[00:16:07] Oh no it's okay.

[00:16:08] Receival.

[00:16:09] Okay close your eyes cause I didn't wrap them cause it's not my life.

[00:16:13] Alright ready okay I'm just holding them.

[00:16:18] It's a little baby one.

[00:16:20] Oh my goodness.

[00:16:21] I love the logo.

[00:16:23] How did you know that I wanted one of these?

[00:16:26] I know.

[00:16:27] She knows me.

[00:16:28] And you can get your own sense but this is a little starter but I know you love you do

[00:16:31] your own sense.

[00:16:32] So what is this for people who are?

[00:16:33] I don't know what it's called.

[00:16:34] It's a smell maker.

[00:16:35] It's an aroma diffuser.

[00:16:36] And it's small so I figured like for your room it won't be overwhelming.

[00:16:42] Exactly.

[00:16:43] Because I always get like little small incense things instead of the big ones.

[00:16:47] But we don't want fires.

[00:16:48] Yeah we don't.

[00:16:49] I think the bear is all about the smell maker.

[00:16:51] Always watching.

[00:16:52] Yeah oh my goodness thank you.

[00:16:54] See how you put oils into it.

[00:16:56] Yeah they're cute.

[00:16:58] Oh I see okay cool.

[00:17:00] See bloop and it tells you.

[00:17:02] Yeah wow indulge yourself.

[00:17:05] You know that's awesome.

[00:17:07] Oh my gosh thank you so much you are so so sweet.

[00:17:09] You're swell.

[00:17:10] And okay I was going to get you something and when I went to go get it it was sold

[00:17:14] out so I'm like.

[00:17:15] Is it from fly leaf?

[00:17:16] No.

[00:17:17] Okay there's a thing.

[00:17:19] No sorry there's one thing I don't know if yes okay sorry sorry.

[00:17:24] There are a couple people who are like I was going to get you this thing from fly leaf but

[00:17:28] it sold out and like there's three people who all said that.

[00:17:33] And I said y'all are either posers but the story really comes together or you just

[00:17:39] know I like fly leaf and it's good to say it's all done.

[00:17:42] But also the thing I was going to give Henry and I was like no this won't be

[00:17:45] a present.

[00:17:46] This will just like we'll just do this for this.

[00:17:50] Yeah for film buds.

[00:17:51] But it won't be a good prezzy.

[00:17:54] You know what I mean?

[00:17:55] It was this card game from fly leaf that was sold out so I had to order one through fly

[00:18:00] leaf with that dude I see him like at least twice a day now different places.

[00:18:05] Oh the Timothy you show me.

[00:18:06] His name is Ben.

[00:18:07] His name is Ben.

[00:18:09] I see him everywhere.

[00:18:11] I know.

[00:18:12] Smart out.

[00:18:13] Wow.

[00:18:14] Anyway so I had to order one.

[00:18:17] So I wonder if it's that.

[00:18:20] Interesting.

[00:18:21] I know.

[00:18:22] Sorry that's very uh.

[00:18:24] Now anyway my brain gears are turning now to think of what I'm going to get for Henry.

[00:18:31] You don't even have to though.

[00:18:32] No I'm going to.

[00:18:33] You can get him some.

[00:18:34] Close your ears.

[00:18:35] Take off your headphones.

[00:18:36] Don't listen.

[00:18:37] You can get him some cell and cell.

[00:18:38] Oh I love cell to water.

[00:18:40] Hey!

[00:18:41] For his closet.

[00:18:43] Yeah.

[00:18:44] But um yeah I'm checking like every other day for this thing that I saw because it like jumped

[00:18:50] out and I was like Chloe needs this.

[00:18:52] I love things to jump out.

[00:18:54] Yeah.

[00:18:55] Is it one of those cans where it's the.

[00:18:56] You're not going to guess what it is.

[00:18:58] Yeah but if your gift does not come today we'll just do it.

[00:19:02] We'll unveil it on the next show Chloe okay?

[00:19:04] Yeah dolly.

[00:19:05] Yeah so it's I think you'll enjoy it though.

[00:19:08] I hope so.

[00:19:10] And now I'm hoping Henry that your connection to this thing is real enough so that you don't

[00:19:16] already have this.

[00:19:17] Oh.

[00:19:18] But if you don't have it already I think you'll really enjoy it.

[00:19:21] Is it squishy?

[00:19:22] No.

[00:19:23] It's boxy.

[00:19:24] Yeah but I thought it might be one of those squishy things that comes in a box.

[00:19:28] And if you do have it already I will find you another.

[00:19:31] Don't you dare.

[00:19:32] If he has already I know what you're getting for Christmas.

[00:19:35] I'm not going to get one because this will be my favorite ever.

[00:19:38] Burn it in effort.

[00:19:39] Yeah but it's boxy.

[00:19:41] Oh my goodness I don't have this.

[00:19:44] Oh it's close.

[00:19:45] It's me.

[00:19:46] Yeah that's so sweet.

[00:19:47] That's so perfect.

[00:19:48] That's so on point.

[00:19:49] He's the sweetest boy.

[00:19:51] It's a little Ursula Funko Pop figure.

[00:19:54] Yes.

[00:19:55] Funko Pop is blown.

[00:19:56] I saw it said I gotta go for it.

[00:19:58] This is fate.

[00:19:59] I'm so glad you went for this and I don't have it so this is going to be like.

[00:20:03] Is it limited?

[00:20:04] It says 568 on it.

[00:20:06] Well it's for the anniversary because I have like one of these.

[00:20:11] I have the Ariel that they did but I don't have this one.

[00:20:14] Close one.

[00:20:15] Yeah.

[00:20:16] I could have picked wrong.

[00:20:17] How do you do Ariel?

[00:20:18] Yeah no problem.

[00:20:19] She has like a little.

[00:20:20] I guess I can picture it.

[00:20:21] Oh well it's on the back.

[00:20:23] There's like a little clear stick that she's like floating on.

[00:20:26] That's not what I was imagining at all.

[00:20:27] What the heck they made that seagull?

[00:20:29] Yeah I know.

[00:20:30] They're trying to get all the money.

[00:20:31] Oh yeah they really are.

[00:20:32] Oh speaking of Star Wars.

[00:20:33] They're juicing it.

[00:20:34] I can't wait to get into that discussion.

[00:20:36] You know what I'm talking about?

[00:20:37] Club of Pist.

[00:20:38] It's all nostalgia bait.

[00:20:42] The whole movie.

[00:20:43] Not what I was talking about but that I don't have the nostalgia so I missed that.

[00:20:49] But okay do you want your present?

[00:20:51] Please.

[00:20:52] I'm worried it sucks big time.

[00:20:54] No Chloe.

[00:20:55] No because listen no genuinely it's the worst present I've ever given you.

[00:20:58] Okay that's still an amazing gift Chloe.

[00:21:01] Okay compared to what other people give me?

[00:21:04] That's...

[00:21:05] No disrespect.

[00:21:06] No I'm worried it's not good.

[00:21:11] Chloe.

[00:21:12] I've been ill Henry.

[00:21:14] You know usually you know usually you know me.

[00:21:17] I usually plan quite a while in a head and everything.

[00:21:20] Yes it's okay Chloe.

[00:21:21] Any gift is...

[00:21:22] I've been giving Rufi to y'all.

[00:21:23] Chloe any gift is...

[00:21:25] Okay.

[00:21:26] That wasn't a bad joke about Rufis.

[00:21:28] Chloe told me I was basically being Rufi it was the chemical reaction.

[00:21:32] We should clarify.

[00:21:33] I wasn't making jokes about Rufis it's not funny.

[00:21:35] It just happened to me.

[00:21:36] Okay I don't wrap things stop looking.

[00:21:38] Close your eyes.

[00:21:39] Close your eyes I gotta face up the right way.

[00:21:40] Did you look at me?

[00:21:41] Look at me close your eyes how dare you.

[00:21:44] Okay here.

[00:21:45] Oh Chloe.

[00:21:48] He's breaking it.

[00:21:49] You're baking it.

[00:21:50] You don't even know what it is.

[00:21:51] I don't care it's awesome though.

[00:21:53] Chloe anything Batman related?

[00:21:55] Is the way to go.

[00:21:56] Oh that looks super cool.

[00:21:57] It's a drone.

[00:21:58] It's a drone.

[00:21:59] That can like fly around.

[00:22:00] A Batman drone.

[00:22:01] Yeah take a video.

[00:22:02] Chloe that's the coolest thing.

[00:22:03] That is incredible.

[00:22:04] Jesus.

[00:22:05] How could you not think like if this was like a piece of bubblegum or something.

[00:22:09] Yeah.

[00:22:10] But no it's a drone she Chloe got me a Batman drone.

[00:22:13] Chloe thank you.

[00:22:14] And it does video.

[00:22:15] It says it has an onboard HD camera I don't know if I buy it.

[00:22:19] Chloe thank you.

[00:22:20] Well you did buy it.

[00:22:21] You're welcome Henry.

[00:22:22] Thank you.

[00:22:23] Man gifts all around.

[00:22:24] Well.

[00:22:25] Well well.

[00:22:26] Soon to be soon to be soon to be.

[00:22:30] That's really my deal in a nutshell it's fine.

[00:22:33] That's what all the listeners are thinking.

[00:22:35] Chloe thank you so much I really do appreciate it.

[00:22:37] I'm glad you like it.

[00:22:38] I was serious about it.

[00:22:39] And it's like unexpected it's not what I would have expected so I like that.

[00:22:43] Me neither.

[00:22:44] Yeah where did you get it?

[00:22:46] Rude.

[00:22:47] Just curious.

[00:22:48] Not Amazon and that's all that matters.

[00:22:50] That's fair.

[00:22:51] Fair enough.

[00:22:52] Do not support.

[00:22:53] Do they have a whole collection can I go and buy like a.

[00:22:55] I don't think so.

[00:22:56] That's too bad.

[00:22:57] I think it's.

[00:22:58] I think it's just Batman but I was also on the look for Batman.

[00:23:01] Okay that's fair.

[00:23:02] Part of my search was a physical search.

[00:23:05] I didn't get any of my presents online.

[00:23:07] It's not that hard to get them in person everybody.

[00:23:10] Yeah.

[00:23:11] But anyway.

[00:23:12] Anyway.

[00:23:13] I was on the look for Batman.

[00:23:19] I don't think there were other ones though.

[00:23:22] I'd be weird to have a I mean Batman his little guy is a bat.

[00:23:26] Makes sense.

[00:23:27] If you did a Spider-Man be freaking weird.

[00:23:29] That would be.

[00:23:30] And that's the that's the other easiest one to do because you could really have a spider

[00:23:35] which is creepy because they don't fly as well so it's like a lot going on there

[00:23:39] but then if you go out of that they get really weird.

[00:23:42] Yeah like how would you do a Superman it would be weird.

[00:23:45] Maybe his little tidy whitey is like what would it be?

[00:23:47] I don't know exactly.

[00:23:49] 360 stunt rolls.

[00:23:52] Come on this thing is.

[00:23:54] Yeah if it works.

[00:23:56] I hope it does.

[00:23:58] You know me and technology and I are not best friends so I was little hesitant.

[00:24:04] I'll get there.

[00:24:05] I'll do it.

[00:24:06] Okay or just pretend.

[00:24:08] No I got it.

[00:24:09] I'll figure out a way to make it work.

[00:24:11] You will he'll just toss it in the air so that it goes 360.

[00:24:14] Start flying.

[00:24:15] Yeah.

[00:24:16] Wow that was great.

[00:24:18] Alright well I guess we probably should go ahead and jump in.

[00:24:21] We got a lot to talk about here.

[00:24:23] I don't have to jump in at this point.

[00:24:25] Maybe yeah maybe not but slowly wait in.

[00:24:28] Yeah I'll be freezing.

[00:24:30] Let's get into our first review which is Star Wars the rise of Skywalker.

[00:24:34] Please make the clip the cutie patoot.

[00:24:37] And if we have a clip let's take a lesson.

[00:24:45] It's an instinct.

[00:24:51] Feeling the force brought us together.

[00:25:00] We're not alone.

[00:25:04] People will fight if we lead them.

[00:25:09] People keep telling me they know me.

[00:25:13] No one does.

[00:25:18] But I do.

[00:25:21] And then he was like at the end with the red power ranger and he was just like in there.

[00:25:25] Yeah so fun.

[00:25:27] Oh wait are we going?

[00:25:29] Yeah I just started it.

[00:25:30] I'll be really excited.

[00:25:31] We just gotta get this out of the way.

[00:25:33] Do you know who played the red power ranger?

[00:25:35] I hope you don't.

[00:25:36] Austin Land.

[00:25:37] Wasn't it Carrie Russell?

[00:25:39] Oh yeah.

[00:25:40] Oh Austin Land.

[00:25:41] You said it as if I thought someone's name was Austin Land.

[00:25:44] Austin Land.

[00:25:45] No Austin Land.

[00:25:46] Dang it.

[00:25:47] Austin Land.

[00:25:48] I wanted you to be shocked.

[00:25:49] Okay I was shocked.

[00:25:51] When you were found out.

[00:25:52] I found out like literally an hour before I came over here.

[00:25:54] Dang it Henry.

[00:25:55] I know one of my friends was because I posted about it on my Instagram and I was like the red power ranger was my favorite character.

[00:26:01] And they were like do you know who it was?

[00:26:03] And I was like who?

[00:26:04] And they were like Carrie.

[00:26:06] And I was like what?

[00:26:07] She was actually my least favorite character.

[00:26:09] Really?

[00:26:10] We'll go into my reasoning.

[00:26:11] See and my thing is I just did not care about the movie whatsoever so I was like oh she cool alright.

[00:26:16] But what's her name?

[00:26:18] It wasn't even said.

[00:26:20] Like they threw all these new characters in there and then like no time to get to know them.

[00:26:25] They wanted their own Avengers Endgame big moment and we didn't care about any but anyway.

[00:26:30] Yeah.

[00:26:31] Let's save that for later.

[00:26:33] So Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is directed by JJ Abrams.

[00:26:38] Right by JJ.

[00:26:39] Yeah it stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Richard E Grant,

[00:26:48] Donal Gleason, Carrie Russell.

[00:26:50] Oh her name is Zoral Bliss.

[00:26:53] Is the Carrie Russell character.

[00:26:55] Gross.

[00:26:56] Yeah I thought it was like Submarine or something like that.

[00:26:58] Kelly Marie Tran.

[00:27:01] Many others as well.

[00:27:03] They kept bringing everyone back to life.

[00:27:05] So many I know.

[00:27:06] I said if we're bringing everyone back to life can we have some Lord Durn please?

[00:27:10] Right.

[00:27:12] I thought that Natalie Portman was in it for a second.

[00:27:17] That's literally what I did when I saw her and then I realized oh it's just Daisy Ridley with like a hood on.

[00:27:24] She looked very much like Padme.

[00:27:27] And the synopsis is after Palpatine mysteriously returns.

[00:27:32] Very mysterious even for Clobo who knows nothing about these.

[00:27:36] So left field.

[00:27:37] I said whoa that guy.

[00:27:38] The resistance faces the first order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.

[00:27:46] So I guess first off we should say probably need to do a spoiler discussion so I guess we can do a spoiler free talk first and then we can do spoilers afterwards.

[00:27:57] And that'll be at the end of the show?

[00:27:59] Maybe.

[00:28:00] What?

[00:28:01] That's the format.

[00:28:02] Depends on how the talk.

[00:28:03] I don't like the format.

[00:28:04] It depends on how you always make it.

[00:28:06] Depends on how long the conversation goes.

[00:28:08] That's all.

[00:28:09] Okay.

[00:28:10] Yeah.

[00:28:11] All right well I guess should we kick it off to our guest Chloe?

[00:28:14] Yeah let's do that.

[00:28:16] Henry what did you think of episode nine?

[00:28:18] I was so bored out of my mind hated it the entire thing the only time I felt any real emotion was when-

[00:28:28] What's when you saw Killing Eve pop up right?

[00:28:30] Killing Eve was in this?

[00:28:32] Not Sandra Oh.

[00:28:34] Jody Comer.

[00:28:35] What's she?

[00:28:36] She was a well is that a spoiler?

[00:28:39] She was in it.

[00:28:40] I doubt it.

[00:28:41] Okay well I don't think it's a spoiler because I didn't even realize that she was there.

[00:28:44] She was uh Ray's mom.

[00:28:47] That was her?

[00:28:50] Mind blown.

[00:28:53] I said famous people kept popping up for two seconds.

[00:28:55] Yeah.

[00:28:56] I told Henry I said this is what's keeping me involved here.

[00:28:59] Famous people keep popping up.

[00:29:00] What famous person are they gonna throw in now?

[00:29:02] Yeah it's like famous person whack-a-mole that's how you keep Chloe in here.

[00:29:05] Okay well that's amazing that's really cool.

[00:29:08] But yeah the only time I felt emotion was when Chewbacca cried because of Princess Leia.

[00:29:15] That didn't get it.

[00:29:17] And that wasn't even because I was invested in them it was because it made me realize how much I miss Carrie Fisher

[00:29:22] and I started crying because I miss Carrie anyway.

[00:29:26] Also the only time I felt emotion in the previous movie was when-

[00:29:30] Carrie Fisher was being dramatic and I was like I miss you so much.

[00:29:34] I miss you so much space mom.

[00:29:36] So now how are the other two Star Wars movies before this?

[00:29:41] How are they?

[00:29:43] The Force Awakens was so good it could have gone so many different ways from there

[00:29:48] and the way that it went in the second one the last Jedi was so abysmally wrong.

[00:29:55] Like okay I'm not gonna like try to spoil anything but-

[00:29:58] It's for that one scene.

[00:30:00] But like the way that the second movie ended should have been how this movie was gonna end

[00:30:07] and the second movie needed to be something completely different because I feel like they ran out

[00:30:11] they like they boxed themselves into a corner and they were like okay how are we gonna continue?

[00:30:16] Bring Palpatine back to life.

[00:30:18] There you go let's- they're gonna go here and on this adventure and they're gonna-

[00:30:23] You know it played like a fanfiction like a child was riding this in their bedroom.

[00:30:29] Well because that's what everybody was upset about with last Jedi so they just course corrected and-

[00:30:34] Yeah I feel like they course corrected way too hard.

[00:30:37] Way too much.

[00:30:38] And it just it felt way too over the top there wasn't enough time to get invested in any like characters

[00:30:46] there was no character growth I don't think like it just not a fun time for Henry.

[00:30:53] That's too bad.

[00:30:54] Yeah and I really wanted to like it too because-

[00:30:56] Definitely not enough jargarb inks.

[00:30:58] Exactly. Why was he not the Sith Lord?

[00:31:02] That would have been amazing.

[00:31:05] Yeah but also okay Kylo frickin Ren.

[00:31:09] He's the weakest.

[00:31:10] I hate him so much he does not deserve to be Padme's grandson wearing this black sweater

[00:31:19] while she wore couture.

[00:31:22] I'm sorry I'm so passionate about costumes.

[00:31:26] And oh my god anyway good skinny jeans.

[00:31:30] Yeah.

[00:31:31] Chloe by the way killer sweater.

[00:31:33] Yeah killer sweater.

[00:31:34] It's a cute sweater.

[00:31:35] Thank you oh my god.

[00:31:36] Yeah no problem.

[00:31:37] I have three colors.

[00:31:38] Really?

[00:31:39] That's awesome.

[00:31:40] Adolthode is when you like find something you like and buy it in every color.

[00:31:44] I mean I wore the same orange vest every day for a year when I was in fifth grade

[00:31:47] so I guess I was just ahead of the curve.

[00:31:49] Yeah you were right.

[00:31:50] Yeah.

[00:31:51] Well uh well Chloe what did you think?

[00:31:54] You and I saw this together?

[00:31:55] Yeah.

[00:31:56] Yeah.

[00:31:57] Uh okay well I'll start off by saying I liked it more than everybody else I've talked to

[00:32:06] combined that and I respect that's because I'm not.

[00:32:11] Not invested.

[00:32:12] I'm not knowledgeable.

[00:32:14] I don't know the canon I guess like I've seen so I've seen the three new ones because

[00:32:23] of your fault.

[00:32:24] Thank you.

[00:32:25] For you.

[00:32:26] I think the Anderson's Meta Force Museum the first one.

[00:32:30] No you were there right?

[00:32:32] Didn't we sit with you?

[00:32:34] Didn't it come out in 2015?

[00:32:35] I mean I saw last Jedi was someone I don't know if we saw the Force Awakens together

[00:32:40] I don't remember ever seeing a Star Wars movie with you besides this one.

[00:32:44] No I mean like I really don't think you guys were-

[00:32:46] Were you there when the Chelsea gang?

[00:32:48] Weren't you there when the Chelsea gang was there?

[00:32:50] And I said oh dang that's my friends.

[00:32:52] I don't think so.

[00:32:53] I was braiding.

[00:32:54] Oh yeah.

[00:32:55] But we were doing the podcast that might have been the last one then.

[00:32:59] Yeah.

[00:33:00] I don't know.

[00:33:01] We've only reviewed the last Jedi on here we didn't do the first one.

[00:33:05] Okay well I saw the first two with it the mega Mary then so it confused me but oh it

[00:33:12] wasn't you it was Marco.

[00:33:15] Oh yeah.

[00:33:16] I sat next to Marco that was great he's great.

[00:33:20] Good clarification for the listeners.

[00:33:22] So really the ones who've been in it for the whole time.

[00:33:26] That's fair.

[00:33:27] Marco's great.

[00:33:28] Yeah.

[00:33:29] Anyway.

[00:33:30] What's he doing?

[00:33:31] He's still at the Chelsea.

[00:33:32] Is he?

[00:33:33] Yeah.

[00:33:34] He's like the only one still there.

[00:33:35] I was posted texting about getting launched or something but I'll just tell him.

[00:33:39] Text him to-

[00:33:40] I've been asleep.

[00:33:41] Yeah.

[00:33:42] Yeah.

[00:33:43] Anyway.

[00:33:44] So you've seen the three new ones.

[00:33:48] I've seen the three new ones.

[00:33:49] I've seen the bits and the bobs of the past ones.

[00:33:53] I saw part-

[00:33:54] And you saw Rogue One right?

[00:33:56] And Solo or no you didn't see Solo.

[00:33:58] I saw Rogue One and Kaylee and I sweetly fell asleep on each other's shoulder.

[00:34:04] That's cute.

[00:34:05] Yeah well we only saw it for Ali and it was like opening it was like very late it

[00:34:10] was like the opening show or whatever.

[00:34:12] Right.

[00:34:13] Like Kaylee and I even aside from sleepy disease Kaylee and I like to get we were done so by

[00:34:26] then.

[00:34:27] Yeah.

[00:34:28] Awake at 11 o'clock who are you?

[00:34:30] Not us.

[00:34:31] Can't do that.

[00:34:32] So we were sleeping over here and Allison was loving it.

[00:34:35] Also I just didn't really like it but anyway I know I'm the only one.

[00:34:39] No there's not a lot of people don't like it.

[00:34:41] It's boring okay and it didn't make sense.

[00:34:43] It was a little slow.

[00:34:44] It didn't make sense.

[00:34:45] A lot of people don't like Rogue One.

[00:34:47] If you're going to give me intergalactic terrorist plots.

[00:34:52] Scholastic book fair.

[00:34:53] They better make sense.

[00:34:54] Yeah.

[00:34:55] You know?

[00:34:56] Like not a fan anyway.

[00:35:01] That was very distracting.

[00:35:03] Oh and Diego Luna wasn't that right?

[00:35:05] Yes he was.

[00:35:06] Felicity Jones.

[00:35:08] It just doesn't seem like her name.

[00:35:10] Never does.

[00:35:12] Jones fits really well.

[00:35:14] Felicity for her.

[00:35:15] I don't see it.

[00:35:17] You know?

[00:35:18] I love her.

[00:35:19] I love her teeth.

[00:35:20] I love her.

[00:35:21] Oh she's in the aeronauts.

[00:35:22] Yeah with Eddie.

[00:35:23] Yeah.

[00:35:24] I gotta watch that.

[00:35:25] With Eddie Redmayne.

[00:35:26] Yeah.

[00:35:27] Which I don't really like Eddie Redmayne but it was a throwback to the theory of everything.

[00:35:31] Okay.

[00:35:32] Yeah.

[00:35:33] No, no, no, no.

[00:35:35] True.

[00:35:36] I'm not laughing at what you're saying.

[00:35:38] Henry this is the only time I socialize.

[00:35:40] Me too.

[00:35:42] Just kidding I got to have my homework Christmas with Anderson's.

[00:35:47] You can imagine their house always looks ridiculous.

[00:35:51] The whole thing is yeah.

[00:35:53] Do they have like fake snow places?

[00:35:56] They've had like snow makers before but no.

[00:36:01] No, I thought like the fluffy stuff.

[00:36:04] No offense to those people.

[00:36:06] They're a little more.

[00:36:09] A little more Pinteresty.

[00:36:11] I don't want to be mean.

[00:36:12] Like the bougie Christmas.

[00:36:14] We'll say bougie because that's also kind of mean to an adult.

[00:36:17] Yeah, there you go.

[00:36:18] They're too bougie for that cotton snow.

[00:36:20] Okay.

[00:36:21] Absolutely yeah.

[00:36:22] Interesting.

[00:36:23] What?

[00:36:24] Okay so I've seen the first three.

[00:36:27] How do you feel about this one?

[00:36:28] I've seen bits and little pieces of the other ones.

[00:36:31] I saw the whole Jar Jar Binks thing.

[00:36:33] I saw the whole what the heck Natalie Portman gets with the child.

[00:36:36] That's weird.

[00:36:37] So I've seen, oh that's the same movie.

[00:36:39] Yeah.

[00:36:40] I watched that with Marion Maggi as well.

[00:36:42] And then but we didn't watch the whole thing or I didn't because I said okay bye this sucks.

[00:36:48] And then I also I've seen the sand thing because who hasn't.

[00:36:53] So I've seen that a couple times.

[00:36:55] Move over.

[00:36:56] Wait the same sand thing?

[00:36:58] Troy from High School Musical.

[00:36:59] Yeah when Anakin's talking about the sand to Natalie Portman.

[00:37:02] Yeah.

[00:37:03] And I've seen Ewan's Demise.

[00:37:07] I know the plot points.

[00:37:09] But I'm not, I don't have it's not what my heart's made of.

[00:37:14] This is no Harry Potter for you.

[00:37:16] It's no HP.

[00:37:17] I was gonna say we've always been a Star Trek family.

[00:37:19] That's not direct comparison but they both have stars so everyone compares them anyway.

[00:37:23] Similar.

[00:37:24] Like that girl who wears Star Trek looks all the-

[00:37:27] So the movie premieres?

[00:37:29] Yeah.

[00:37:30] So that's really me but by accident not to be sassy just cause I have no idea what I'm talking about.

[00:37:36] Anyway so that's my diving.

[00:37:41] But to be honest with you I can barely remember what happened in the last ones.

[00:37:45] I know who the characters are like I know Faye Ren and Poe.

[00:37:50] No Faye, well Ren Kylo Ren.

[00:37:53] Finn, Rey and Poe.

[00:37:55] Yes.

[00:37:56] And I know the classic peoples and I know Adam Driver.

[00:38:02] Yeah.

[00:38:03] Okay?

[00:38:04] Yeah.

[00:38:05] That said, I have no idea what I'm talking about but because of that I kind of enjoyed the movie.

[00:38:11] Yeah.

[00:38:12] Cause I didn't realize at the time that Palpatine was like for sure done zoned.

[00:38:20] A long time ago.

[00:38:21] I didn't know there was a thing.

[00:38:23] But it was really JJ as usual.

[00:38:26] Being, this is lost all over again.

[00:38:29] He just doesn't plan ahead.

[00:38:31] No offense like typical boy.

[00:38:33] Yeah.

[00:38:34] That's fair.

[00:38:35] Yeah.

[00:38:36] Just no planning and he's like oh we're gonna be fine.

[00:38:39] It's the way to go.

[00:38:41] So just cause your hair looks cool and it goes well with your glasses doesn't mean it's

[00:38:46] all gonna pan out okay?

[00:38:48] Yeah.

[00:38:49] I didn't realize that was a big no no no no until Mary Meg was like this is what the heck

[00:38:56] is going on here.

[00:38:57] Well, but also didn't they have a different director for the last one?

[00:39:00] Yeah I was just gonna say that messed with everything.

[00:39:02] So Colin Trevorrow who did Jurassic World was supposed to do it and then he got

[00:39:07] fired.

[00:39:08] Yeah.

[00:39:09] So.

[00:39:10] And the last one was The Brothers right?

[00:39:12] The, yeah the guys who did the Lego movie.

[00:39:16] No, Phil Lord and Chris Miller not brothers but they're like bros.

[00:39:21] Oh might be.

[00:39:22] Who might be thinking about that's the brothers?

[00:39:24] They're brothers.

[00:39:25] Oh they're Marvel.

[00:39:27] The Russos.

[00:39:28] Oh the Russos yeah.

[00:39:29] This one I'm talking about.

[00:39:30] Yeah the.

[00:39:31] I have no idea.

[00:39:32] Phil Lord and Chris Miller got fired from.

[00:39:34] No relation?

[00:39:35] No.

[00:39:36] Got fired from solo.

[00:39:39] I don't trust you.

[00:39:40] No relation?

[00:39:41] I don't think so.

[00:39:42] Billy Lord?

[00:39:45] Oh yeah no, no relation.

[00:39:47] Oh oh I.

[00:39:48] Because her dad's a director.

[00:39:49] Yeah.

[00:39:50] Oh I don't know that.

[00:39:51] Yeah I thought you were talking about the two of them.

[00:39:54] So no no.

[00:39:57] Classic me.

[00:39:58] So basically if I didn't know anything I'd be like okay this is kind of bad but

[00:40:02] like manageable.

[00:40:05] Watchable.

[00:40:06] Watchable not so good though and then they right pissed me off at the end.

[00:40:11] Yeah.

[00:40:12] And I was like, I was like, I'm going to go with all the.

[00:40:15] Me too.

[00:40:16] Because.

[00:40:17] The tie-ins.

[00:40:18] I kept saying to Henry I was like genuinely the chemistry in this movie doesn't know

[00:40:23] where to go it's flying all over the place everyone they all come are coming off like

[00:40:29] they all want to get with everybody else and also nobody and this ain't working

[00:40:35] at all.

[00:40:36] Yeah.

[00:40:37] And I know why.

[00:40:38] They wanted to have emotional things but like they just didn't know how to go about

[00:40:41] it.

[00:40:42] And it's all because let me do it.

[00:40:45] I'll let you do it and then I'm going to do something.

[00:40:47] I should probably let you do it but I'm going to do it.

[00:40:50] I'm an ally it's fine.

[00:40:51] Okay.

[00:40:52] I was pissed, pissed, pissed I was so mad that Finn and Poe didn't kiss there's a

[00:41:00] post to be together fight me they have so much chemistry.

[00:41:04] Both actors wanted it.

[00:41:05] They wanted it since the first movie.

[00:41:07] I was saying yeah.

[00:41:08] They've been saying in interviews.

[00:41:10] They're screaming at you through time.

[00:41:11] They both want it so bad and Disney said no.

[00:41:14] And then they put in that rude, that dismissive, rude little lesbian kiss was so dismissive.

[00:41:23] And they're like ooh first gay Star Wars moment excuse you Luke Skywalker did not wear

[00:41:28] the black Chanel boots into that sand pit to be not called the first gay Star Wars

[00:41:34] character because he is the ponchos.

[00:41:37] The ponchos.

[00:41:38] That's true that's why he be so confused.

[00:41:39] Mark Hamill says that he could be.

[00:41:40] That's why he be so confused.

[00:41:41] Yeah with his sister.

[00:41:42] Exactly.

[00:41:43] He's like what's going on?

[00:41:45] I'm wearing a poncho.

[00:41:46] Yeah.

[00:41:47] Like that's Luke.

[00:41:48] That's him.

[00:41:49] That's true.

[00:41:50] Like I just want to wear fashion like my mom pat me.

[00:41:54] Go to her queen.

[00:41:56] And his dad to be fair.

[00:41:57] Yeah.

[00:41:58] Dramatic.

[00:41:59] The cape come on.

[00:42:00] The capes.

[00:42:01] Unnecessary cape.

[00:42:02] Yeah.

[00:42:03] You kidding me?

[00:42:04] That guy had a plan.

[00:42:05] He knew logistics.

[00:42:06] He's all about the logistics.

[00:42:07] Yeah.

[00:42:08] He had a cape though.

[00:42:09] Tell me that was not just for looks okay.

[00:42:12] No capes.

[00:42:13] Oh also one of them had a ridiculous cape but I said this is too much.

[00:42:16] Was it was it does Kylo Ren have a cape?

[00:42:19] For part of it maybe.

[00:42:21] Somebody has a cape and I said this is too much for me.

[00:42:23] They like do the little like the Swiss the sassy cape thing.

[00:42:29] I feel like it was who was it Landon.

[00:42:32] No.

[00:42:33] No.

[00:42:34] Also that was weird.

[00:42:35] Me.

[00:42:36] No they just threw him in to be like oh hey look who it is.

[00:42:38] He just looked I'm not in a mean way.

[00:42:40] Yeah.

[00:42:41] But he just looked kind of like they should have updated his costume again.

[00:42:46] They tapped him in the same little leotard.

[00:42:49] Very 70 years.

[00:42:51] The little yellow leotard and it just made him look kind of elder like elder.

[00:42:57] Like out of place.

[00:42:59] Yes.

[00:43:00] Like grandpa escaped.

[00:43:01] Very much so.

[00:43:02] He was walking around the house.

[00:43:04] Oh so that they just could have updated his costume for goodness sake.

[00:43:09] You can keep it yellow sure but also everyone's going to know who he is the only black person

[00:43:13] in the whole thing.

[00:43:14] Sorry John.

[00:43:15] Well we got we got Finn.

[00:43:17] Yeah.

[00:43:18] And then this new character that they threw in and I guarantee you there's going to be

[00:43:22] like a Disney plus spin off and she's like Landon's daughter or something.

[00:43:27] That was weird chemistry too.

[00:43:29] Oh because he was.

[00:43:30] He's like where you're from.

[00:43:31] We're going to find out.

[00:43:33] It was so weird.

[00:43:34] It was so random.

[00:43:35] He was like dang it if I knew his name I can make a really good joke right now.

[00:43:38] He was like that dude who hosts who are you or whatever on PBS.

[00:43:44] Henry.

[00:43:45] I know.

[00:43:46] Is he talking to Henry too?

[00:43:48] No.

[00:43:49] Whatever.

[00:43:50] I know you're talking about the Harvard professor.

[00:43:51] You know what I'm talking about?

[00:43:52] I might yeah maybe.

[00:43:53] Okay well anyway you don't have to talk about it.

[00:43:55] Yeah it would have been Henry Gates.

[00:43:57] Henry something Gates.

[00:43:58] Maybe.

[00:43:59] Yeah.

[00:44:00] Look right into the film buds of Gino.

[00:44:02] Please tell us who you think he was in Watchmen.

[00:44:05] Oh is he?

[00:44:06] Okay.

[00:44:07] Anyway.

[00:44:08] I'm sorry but yeah no that pissed me right on off.

[00:44:13] That could have if that was in there honestly I would have left being like alright whatever

[00:44:18] you know.

[00:44:19] Yeah.

[00:44:20] It all's well to end well but that nonsense with their little thruple hug.

[00:44:24] Their neck hug holding on the back of the neck.

[00:44:27] Oh yeah.

[00:44:28] You know what I'm saying with this.

[00:44:29] Yeah.

[00:44:30] I told Henry I said the perfect dynamic is that they're actively raised parents.

[00:44:35] Yeah.

[00:44:36] John boy Finn is the like loving supportive one.

[00:44:39] Yeah.

[00:44:40] Daddy Isaac is a little sassy.

[00:44:43] Sassy dramatic gonna fight somebody always.

[00:44:46] Yes.

[00:44:47] His my favorite thing about this movie honestly and this is a twist because you know I

[00:44:53] have weird feelings about Oscar Isaac.

[00:44:55] I think he's probably a very nice person but he just bothers the bejeebas out of me.

[00:45:00] Right.

[00:45:01] But his hair looked so good.

[00:45:03] It did.

[00:45:04] That was the best part of the movie.

[00:45:05] His hair looked so good.

[00:45:07] There's only thing keeping me going that little celeb notices you know but geez and they

[00:45:15] did that sweet thing with the guy from Charlotte.

[00:45:19] You want to see Charlotte?

[00:45:20] Oh right yeah.

[00:45:21] Yeah.

[00:45:22] The generic Jedi thing.

[00:45:24] That's very sweet.

[00:45:26] Touching.

[00:45:27] But aside from that.

[00:45:29] Yeah.

[00:45:30] Aside from that it's just even to my eyes it won't great.

[00:45:35] Yeah.

[00:45:36] And I told him I was more pleased coming at it than Henry though.

[00:45:38] Yeah.

[00:45:39] Because I could it was not good even with the lack of understanding of why it was actually

[00:45:45] bad but it was like it was like okay well really but I love little creatures though.

[00:45:50] Yeah.

[00:45:51] The planet with like the little the the little piggy.

[00:45:55] The little piggy creatures.

[00:45:56] Oh my god.

[00:45:57] You know the movie was just all that I love it.

[00:45:59] Yeah.

[00:46:00] Yeah.

[00:46:01] But I was just giggling my little head off but that's also why I read Power Ranger

[00:46:03] was my least favorite character because she was obviously put in there to be like

[00:46:07] yo Oscar and gay.

[00:46:09] Yeah.

[00:46:10] No okay and that's what they did with everyone was saying Miss Tran in the previous film

[00:46:16] they put her in there so they could be like.

[00:46:18] Jon's not gay.

[00:46:19] Yeah.

[00:46:20] Okay look they can be together.

[00:46:21] Even though she assaulted him.

[00:46:22] Yeah.

[00:46:23] Sorry.

[00:46:24] Sorry.

[00:46:25] I'm glad that they didn't have like any chemistry in this movie at least because.

[00:46:28] They did her dirty though as well.

[00:46:29] Yeah.

[00:46:30] She didn't have any bit of fire.

[00:46:31] She didn't.

[00:46:32] It was it made sense where she was and I get it but a little something.

[00:46:35] Like she could have been doing more.

[00:46:37] I like the secret base.

[00:46:39] Exactly.

[00:46:40] I like that she was like at stayed at the base.

[00:46:42] Yeah.

[00:46:43] Right hand lady kind of thing.

[00:46:45] Like Leia should have made her the like acting defense person or something.

[00:46:49] That would have made a lot of sense.

[00:46:50] You know give her a role.

[00:46:51] Po didn't know what the heck he was doing.

[00:46:53] Yeah he's like I'm a dramatic gay.

[00:46:55] I'm gonna go fight in my spaceship like.

[00:46:58] Make sure my hair looks good.

[00:47:00] Yeah.

[00:47:01] Yeah.

[00:47:02] Yeah which it did.

[00:47:03] Mission accomplished.

[00:47:04] He did a good job.

[00:47:05] Don't get me started on again but also you know that I like.

[00:47:09] I loved John Boyega's little curls that he did those two.

[00:47:13] That was not bad.

[00:47:14] Not bad.

[00:47:15] Yeah.

[00:47:17] But the last thing I'll say is what well the the whole Disney pretend it or basically Disney

[00:47:30] using the least possible to skirt by so that the general public is like oh Disney still

[00:47:37] great.

[00:47:38] So groundbreaking.

[00:47:39] Little hypnotism with that no effect.

[00:47:42] Well you're.

[00:47:43] I'm my rose glasses aren't.

[00:47:45] Yeah.

[00:47:46] They're they're shattered or something.

[00:47:48] Yeah.

[00:47:49] I don't know but I love that you can still respect the art anyway.

[00:47:51] Yeah.

[00:47:52] Which is very.

[00:47:53] No I totally agree it's like they're doing the very least and expecting a pat on the

[00:47:57] back.

[00:47:58] And it's like you had the option to take this genre that's that's it's fans have

[00:48:04] gate kept gate kept it for so long and you could have done something so drastically

[00:48:12] you know radical.

[00:48:13] But also completely.

[00:48:14] Normal.

[00:48:15] Now it would not be shocking for Disney for Disney to like say that Finn and Poe are

[00:48:22] together that would have been such a normalizing.

[00:48:26] Huge thing as like a huge action.

[00:48:29] Yeah these two action bros as opposed to as opposed to being like oh we he didn't say

[00:48:36] it but the super flamboyant little stereotype idiot.

[00:48:42] Yeah.

[00:48:43] Idiot of a character who's in love with this buff dude who sucks.

[00:48:46] Yeah we didn't have we didn't say anything but he's you know he's he's he's he's

[00:48:52] probably he probably won't get he's probably gonna have a roommate.

[00:48:56] It's probably going to be a bachelor.

[00:48:58] Yeah for a long long time.

[00:49:00] And it's like are you joking me that is yeah so antiquated.

[00:49:04] It is it is totally impressive to Finn and Poe.

[00:49:08] And again it's a normal thing in normal the world in the world now.

[00:49:14] Yeah you know yet there's still so many countries that like illegal illegalize is

[00:49:19] that a word no no block forbid yeah yeah you know LGBT marriage and you know

[00:49:26] it's like well they even took the gate the lesbian kiss out of the Singapore

[00:49:31] did they know yeah well probably it's probably out of the Russian one too.

[00:49:36] I don't even know what they showed in Russia.

[00:49:38] Yeah.

[00:49:39] No uprisings allowed in Russia.

[00:49:41] True or China probably.

[00:49:43] Yeah anyway who gives up support Hong Kong.

[00:49:47] True.

[00:49:48] Yeah Mulan sorry Henry.

[00:49:50] No it's okay.

[00:49:51] I like went on a rant on my Instagram although apparently now they're saying

[00:49:55] that like people like forced her to do it because a bunch of other celebrities

[00:50:00] came out to and posted these like really robotic responses because you know

[00:50:04] what happened to fan being you know house arrest for seven months.

[00:50:09] So I've been hearing that they're like sort of threatening people that like

[00:50:13] if you don't come out to support you're gonna be like Miss Bing Bing.

[00:50:17] Lady because they did in America.

[00:50:19] Nothing would it look and I know I'm not in the situation.

[00:50:22] Yeah nothing would have made me do that.

[00:50:25] Not a thing.

[00:50:26] Yeah and I know that's easier to say than to do.

[00:50:28] Yeah but if you're I mean I can totally believe if you're in that

[00:50:31] situation you would say I would say I would say they trying to blackmail me

[00:50:36] into saying yeah and I'm not going to go to a go to a country where you're safe.

[00:50:41] Yeah not well not that I like France not the best way to go where you're safe right now.

[00:50:45] Maybe not.

[00:50:46] I won't wear my yarmulke around but anyway.

[00:50:49] Yeah I don't wear yarmulke.

[00:50:51] I'm upset.

[00:50:52] Sorry anyway but that pissed me right off and that could have been

[00:50:58] I mean I would have been like alright you know what sucky I don't really care about these

[00:51:02] movies anyway they're like space soap opera weirdness whatever I don't the plots all

[00:51:06] over the place whatever there's incest and everything these cute boys.

[00:51:11] Yeah if they get together I'll be worth it and they can take care of Daisy who

[00:51:19] don't need no man.

[00:51:21] No she don't.

[00:51:23] You know what it's all good even though they try to force one on her.

[00:51:26] I know I told him it's something to tell you.

[00:51:29] I just love I love the John Boyega was like I just love that these guys have to

[00:51:35] take responsibility they're doing their best yeah because he was like I was he

[00:51:40] wasn't gonna say he loved no every time that he was like oh I have something to

[00:51:44] say I kept thinking he was going to be like oh I'm feeling some like Jedi

[00:51:48] tingles like that makes you know something could be it not that he's in

[00:51:52] love with her but like whoa let John Boyega be a Jedi or something like that

[00:51:57] you know anyway because that bothered me he kept saying like oh I have something to

[00:52:03] tell you and then like never did but okay you're smarter than me you got that

[00:52:08] I don't know if that was intentional but that's what I thought so yeah teamwork

[00:52:15] makes a dream work teamwork then safety.

[00:52:19] Yes but they left it they got purpose and that missing me off like I said come on.

[00:52:26] Yeah come on.

[00:52:28] I agree.

[00:52:29] I want to hear what Henry has to say.

[00:52:32] That's alright.

[00:52:33] We're like very...

[00:52:35] I didn't like the movie much I didn't hate it but I just thought it was really

[00:52:41] bland really safe and was purely there to course correct as we said

[00:52:48] everything else that everybody was so pissed about which is I'm so tired of all

[00:52:52] that yeah people bitching about the last just like the everything just like that

[00:52:57] marky mark some yeah but I guess more so that how the character arcs go and

[00:53:02] they were mad that it was subverting what they thought you know Star Wars fandom

[00:53:08] you know was and so it's just it's obnoxious but gatekeeping essentially

[00:53:14] like I mentioned earlier it's like so protective over what they think is correct

[00:53:22] but at the same time it is tricky because like those stupid fish things were

[00:53:29] supposed to be like they were going to make so much money off them or whatever

[00:53:33] you know the little penguin yeah things yeah so at the same time it's like to be

[00:53:38] fair it's tricky it's tricky because it's obviously used like for hello

[00:53:43] station yeah so it's hard because I think there is a good level of understanding

[00:53:48] or whatever but again I'm very much on the outside looking in here

[00:53:51] but like I feel like Marvel like gets their people yeah or like they at least

[00:53:56] care about their people or whatever and they take all their money like a cult

[00:54:01] but guys I'm not judging I would buy Tim the Chalamet's hair off the internet

[00:54:08] and try to do my own little life size say on there to bring make my

[00:54:13] let me make you Victorian hair jewelry they would like put it in lockets and

[00:54:17] like weave it into patterns and stuff it's actually very beautiful art form

[00:54:23] but I'm saying no judgment but I feel like this Disney or was it Disney last

[00:54:34] time what do you mean was it Disney movie last time last movie was Disney

[00:54:38] movie the oh yeah the three new ones have been Disney yeah yeah I just feel like

[00:54:43] I just feel like it's a little harder with the gatekeeping when you are actually

[00:54:47] kind of like don't yeah don't please don't yeah like everyone knew that those

[00:54:55] things were just like for to sell lots and lots of toys yeah because like why

[00:54:59] the f4 they there why not I mean yeah as opposed like the cute little piggies

[00:55:04] in the background that I'm fine yeah because they're just cute little

[00:55:07] thingies in the background right and I mean arguably in the like original

[00:55:11] trilogy there were the little furry bear things you know but like they served a

[00:55:15] purpose you know they weren't just there to be cute but those little fishes

[00:55:20] were yeah or pangies whatever they were um they're called like Pogs or

[00:55:26] something yeah which is a game yeah that's taking your Pog Disney rude yeah

[00:55:33] maybe they have like a they probably bought Pogs something yeah

[00:55:38] like their little faces on the worst toy of all time bring Pogs back I love that

[00:55:44] oh my god exactly

[00:55:50] but I also one thing that I was telling Chloe as we were leaving the theater

[00:55:56] the thing that made me so upset is how many times they would kill off a

[00:56:00] character and then bring them back right immediately I know and so it's like at

[00:56:04] first there are all these moments where you're like well they're actually taking

[00:56:07] a risk by killing off these iconic characters and you're actually feeling

[00:56:12] for them the people who are not only the character who has died but also the

[00:56:17] characters around them who are responding exactly yeah and then they bring them

[00:56:21] right back and it immediately immediately it's emotional whiplash it

[00:56:25] cancels out that emotion that you had for them like the main one is with Daisy

[00:56:30] Ridley and the ship yeah towards the beginning that was like well I was like

[00:56:33] wow that's impressive that they did that but then they they go back on it

[00:56:38] immediately especially since that would have had no real effect on the plot

[00:56:43] nothing yeah if they hadn't done that and then the same thing on the the

[00:56:48] fight on the ocean the oceany thing same thing with that yeah it was

[00:56:52] immediately never mind you know yeah that was terrible yeah that was a lot to

[00:57:00] say about that moment when we get into the spoiler part but and then also I mean

[00:57:05] you were talking about meh no that like hating on it from a perspective but

[00:57:11] not really having as much invested but I think even from a filmmaking

[00:57:16] perspective it wasn't that good I thought the editing was so sloppy the

[00:57:20] writing was really dull I thought it was very it felt thrown together very much

[00:57:26] some of the effects rushed yeah and the worm thing looked so fake oh yeah the

[00:57:34] basilisk yeah the basilisk ripoff yeah pretty bad and so um it was just weird

[00:57:40] having a little stuff like that in this like big like finale like I could see that

[00:57:46] kind of thing in like the first or second movie yeah I'm like the second one yeah

[00:57:49] yeah everyone knows like the filler one like fine but in this one I was like

[00:57:54] this they could just turn around I don't understand yeah yeah and they got what

[00:57:59] they were there for they go to turned on around but okay yeah and so I really I

[00:58:04] don't know if JJ Abrams was the right person to do it because he has this

[00:58:08] like he can set up an interesting world but he doesn't only have the

[00:58:14] follow-through always I think with the Force Awakens he did I thought but I

[00:58:19] think and Star Trek into darkness also suffers from that.

[00:58:23] That's because he can't finish, he can start.

[00:58:26] Yeah although it wasn't he brought into this last film like towards the end.

[00:58:31] He was yeah so like I don't want to blame him entirely.

[00:58:34] No no no.

[00:58:35] But like yeah you definitely write about that.

[00:58:38] I do just get somebody else if you can do it.

[00:58:43] And get Kenneth Branagh.

[00:58:45] Yeah.

[00:58:46] Can you imagine like it's a space opera like get honestly a theatrical person to direct it.

[00:58:53] My action just then yeah I couldn't.

[00:58:56] Well that's not a description you just did too.

[00:58:58] Oh I couldn't love that idea anymore.

[00:59:04] He would have killed me.

[00:59:06] Kenneth would have killed me but again he doesn't really write stuff though.

[00:59:08] No.

[00:59:09] But Kenneth is bougie enough to find someone who can.

[00:59:12] Yeah.

[00:59:13] Who said oh this is I don't know let's get let's get off.

[00:59:17] Emma Thompson please help us.

[00:59:18] Yeah.

[00:59:19] Truth that she would have made how a thing would have done it.

[00:59:23] Just make out for half an hour.

[00:59:24] Literally.

[00:59:25] And then also one thing it's more personal I'm so tired of watching the tie fighter action sequences.

[00:59:34] What's that?

[00:59:35] I mean like you know like combat.

[00:59:38] Pew pew pew.

[00:59:39] Like pew pew pew.

[00:59:40] Those I'm like I'm so tired of because it's there's only so much you can do with that.

[00:59:45] And make it interesting watching every single movie.

[00:59:47] I'm just I wish they could just cut that down and find some other new kind of action.

[00:59:51] Because nothing happens.

[00:59:52] Yeah.

[00:59:53] Let's get to mission impossible.

[00:59:54] It's all CG.

[00:59:55] You don't really ever see anyone involved for the most part.

[00:59:58] I mean it can sort of take you out because you know it's fake.

[01:00:00] Yeah.

[01:00:01] It's the same in every movie and especially with like the Marvel films and you know all of this

[01:00:06] like fantasy action stuff.

[01:00:07] It's been like forced down our throats basically like it's too much.

[01:00:11] Yeah.

[01:00:12] Oversaturated.

[01:00:13] True get some Charlie Staren choreography from atomic.

[01:00:18] Oh yeah.

[01:00:19] Yes.

[01:00:20] Do something different.

[01:00:21] Yeah.

[01:00:22] Now I do think stylized that the ocean saber fight was great.

[01:00:27] I thought like the sound design and some of the cinematography was really good.

[01:00:31] But again that that final moment does does kill it.

[01:00:34] Yeah.

[01:00:35] One thing that I did like about the movie I liked the score scores good John sort of

[01:00:40] classic John Williams but it also reminded me of David Shire which is one of my other

[01:00:45] favorite composers.

[01:00:46] He's sort of like a knockoff Williams.

[01:00:48] What's he done.

[01:00:49] Well my favorite he did return to Oz.

[01:00:51] Oh yeah from the 80s.

[01:00:53] Yeah.

[01:00:54] So good.

[01:00:55] My favorite.

[01:00:57] So anyway it reminded me of his work.

[01:00:59] It's good.

[01:01:00] Yeah a good score for sure.

[01:01:01] Classic.

[01:01:03] And then really when the third act comes I just really tuned out it's so plot heavy

[01:01:10] and tying up so many loose ends and it just.

[01:01:14] I like that.

[01:01:15] I like the T.

[01:01:16] I'm not saying a good movie it makes.

[01:01:18] Yeah.

[01:01:19] Because it doesn't but.

[01:01:20] But we like.

[01:01:21] I like the T.

[01:01:22] Yeah.

[01:01:23] But just more so it just felt so long and bloated and just like I was just waiting

[01:01:28] for things to tie up and it just took so long.

[01:01:31] And then again I guess maybe we should do go ahead and do spoilers pretty soon

[01:01:36] but the moment with Ray at the end with the connection is just it kind of throws.

[01:01:42] Everyone in our theater went what.

[01:01:45] Like not in a good way.

[01:01:47] Yeah.

[01:01:48] Interesting.

[01:01:49] Yeah.

[01:01:50] But no I was.

[01:01:51] I think it's I it's my least favorite of the entire new series both the main trilogy

[01:01:58] and the spin offs.

[01:02:00] Same.

[01:02:01] I might it's about at the prequels for me which I don't really.

[01:02:05] Yeah.

[01:02:06] It's not.

[01:02:07] I mean they're all saying a lot.

[01:02:08] I mean it's like it's not it's not a horrible movie.

[01:02:10] Yeah.

[01:02:11] But it's never going to watch it again.

[01:02:13] Yeah.

[01:02:14] It's just so forgettable.

[01:02:15] And the other two I actually really like last Jedi and just it just there's just

[01:02:19] nothing for me to really go back to.

[01:02:23] I think like for this I could almost keep the first two and like have that be its own

[01:02:29] thing and just ignore this last movie.

[01:02:31] Yeah.

[01:02:32] And it makes it seem like a powerful ending.

[01:02:35] Yeah.

[01:02:36] The last one which might have been the problem.

[01:02:37] Yeah.

[01:02:38] I don't know.

[01:02:39] Yeah.

[01:02:40] Because they had to bring back a whole new well they needed to have a threat.

[01:02:43] Yeah.

[01:02:44] They needed to have a threat.

[01:02:45] And how did they continue.

[01:02:46] I mean it's just a big sauce.

[01:02:47] Yeah.

[01:02:48] E-boy Kylo Ren over here.

[01:02:51] No no no this may be a hot take.

[01:02:54] I actually don't mind Kylo Ren.

[01:02:56] Well that's great.

[01:02:57] I actually find him an interesting character.

[01:02:59] I agree he's kind of whiny and a little obnoxious but.

[01:03:02] I'll put it well.

[01:03:04] But as a character.

[01:03:05] Yeah.

[01:03:06] And I think Adam Driver's performance I find him compelling.

[01:03:08] I yeah I can get behind like Adam Driver in his performance.

[01:03:12] What I will say though.

[01:03:14] Yeah.

[01:03:15] I think in a movie like that we all know that I like a villain.

[01:03:17] Yeah.

[01:03:18] Where you're like.

[01:03:19] You can relate to.

[01:03:20] Low Ki A kind of serial you're coming from.

[01:03:21] Yeah.

[01:03:22] And it makes you like worried about yourself a little bit.

[01:03:24] Yeah.

[01:03:25] Right.

[01:03:26] This guy.

[01:03:27] He's just like a rebellious teenager.

[01:03:29] Yeah so no either way.

[01:03:31] So I didn't get that with him.

[01:03:33] I was like can you just like calm like go to a therapist okay.

[01:03:37] But also I think you know he's not good for like cause Star Wars is like bombastic

[01:03:42] like duh duh duh.

[01:03:44] And it takes it out very seriously right.

[01:03:46] Yeah.

[01:03:47] And like lots of everyone's like in love with Kylo Ren.

[01:03:50] Hmm.

[01:03:51] And I just think that's like a bad sign for like a good villain.

[01:03:55] I feel like he's too subdued you know.

[01:03:58] Like.

[01:03:59] He's just sad.

[01:04:00] Yeah.

[01:04:01] But he wants just a depressed villain who doesn't do crap.

[01:04:03] Yeah.

[01:04:04] And that's the thing.

[01:04:06] I'll say as a as a villain it doesn't really work but just as a character in

[01:04:10] the world I find it interesting.

[01:04:13] I'm I've had enough of like sad white boys having redemption arts over it at this point.

[01:04:19] Yeah.

[01:04:20] Like that's the thing that like I just could not.

[01:04:22] I know that I too am a sad white boy but like I don't I don't want to.

[01:04:27] White.

[01:04:28] Yeah.

[01:04:29] I guess basically.

[01:04:30] Yeah.

[01:04:31] I don't know what he is.

[01:04:32] I don't know.

[01:04:33] But he whatever Adam Driver is.

[01:04:34] He's whatever Channing Tatum is.

[01:04:38] They're related.

[01:04:39] Oh.

[01:04:40] Logan Lucky.

[01:04:41] They're brothers.

[01:04:42] Oh yeah.

[01:04:43] I don't think this is a spoiler.

[01:04:47] I was really waiting for somebody to get their hand cut off.

[01:04:51] That would have been a nice nod.

[01:04:53] That's the kind of homage we want.

[01:04:55] Not all the characters always.

[01:04:57] Just throwing them in.

[01:04:59] Just throwing a little hand getting cut off you know.

[01:05:01] Yeah.

[01:05:02] I'm surprised they didn't throw Yoda in.

[01:05:03] To be like oh look he's here too.

[01:05:06] What is it?

[01:05:07] I've never seen Yoda in a movie so I don't know.

[01:05:09] He died in the like the OG OG movies.

[01:05:12] Oh.

[01:05:13] But then he was in the.

[01:05:14] Yeah he was like a ghost in the last one.

[01:05:17] Oh I forgot about that.

[01:05:18] Yeah he comes back as a ghost in the last Jedi.

[01:05:21] Burn down the tree Luke.

[01:05:23] So yeah so I don't understand why everyone loves Yoda but I'm sure I could.

[01:05:26] Because he's funny.

[01:05:27] Yeah.

[01:05:28] He's a funny little green dude.

[01:05:29] He's a cutie patoot.

[01:05:30] I'll give you that.

[01:05:31] Is he like a really old dude?

[01:05:33] Yeah.

[01:05:34] He's like an ancient.

[01:05:35] Very old.

[01:05:36] Oh no because he was always a baby Yoda.

[01:05:37] In the Mandalorian he's 50.

[01:05:39] And he's a little baby.

[01:05:41] A little babe.

[01:05:43] Yeah.

[01:05:44] Oh my god that's how I feel.

[01:05:45] When I was two I was 50 as well.

[01:05:47] That is so funny.

[01:05:49] Oh my gosh.

[01:05:50] I feel like you are baby Yoda.

[01:05:52] Thank you.

[01:05:53] I could see that.

[01:05:55] Yeah I could see that.

[01:05:57] Yeah but okay well that takes it.

[01:06:00] That's weird then if everyone's like baby Yoda if he's 50.

[01:06:03] Yeah.

[01:06:04] It's not.

[01:06:05] I mean I think his species just like.

[01:06:07] Yeah.

[01:06:08] And they live to like 2000 or something.

[01:06:10] I hope he's still like a little baby.

[01:06:12] So yeah he's like still a little baby even though he's like 50.

[01:06:14] He's like a tortoise.

[01:06:16] Yes.

[01:06:17] Okay.

[01:06:18] Yeah he actually even sort of looks like a tortoise.

[01:06:20] With the face and the wrinkles.

[01:06:22] Got it.

[01:06:23] We saw there was a girl dressed up.

[01:06:25] We were, I guess we went, did we go opening weekend of Star Wars?

[01:06:28] I don't know.

[01:06:29] Yeah we went Saturday evening.

[01:06:30] So people were dressed up or whatever like the people who worked at, went to Timberline.

[01:06:34] This is actually, I gotta say this, this is amazing.

[01:06:36] Okay I'm sorry this is gonna be such a long podcast.

[01:06:38] It's fine.

[01:06:39] Okay it's fine, I don't mind.

[01:06:40] Okay.

[01:06:41] Yeah.

[01:06:42] We're all friends here.

[01:06:43] So we went to, this is just everyone I think has this at least in their neighborhood right

[01:06:50] now unless you live like somewhere already like stupid posh or whatever no offense.

[01:06:54] Yeah.

[01:06:55] Okay but anyway.

[01:06:56] But also get with it.

[01:06:57] You know how I am, I'm so sorry.

[01:06:59] Anyway we live in a college town that's like in the country like in the middle of

[01:07:05] the country.

[01:07:06] It's not physically it's a country.

[01:07:07] It's a bubble of college surrounded by farmland and corn.

[01:07:11] Grass.

[01:07:12] I got bulls very close to my house.

[01:07:15] Yes.

[01:07:16] Okay.

[01:07:17] I can walk to bulls, a bull farm that's how you know.

[01:07:20] Right.

[01:07:21] Okay and I have asthma and I can walk to a bull farm.

[01:07:23] We're not allowed to have chickens in our neighborhood because it's bougie but

[01:07:26] like some neighborhoods are allowed to have chickens.

[01:07:28] Yeah.

[01:07:29] It's pretty cool.

[01:07:30] I'm, I really want a goat.

[01:07:34] I know chickens are much better but there's so much.

[01:07:37] Clover wants a goat.

[01:07:38] I want a goat so bad.

[01:07:40] Okay anyway.

[01:07:41] I have plenty of room for goats.

[01:07:43] Yeah you do.

[01:07:44] My friends, a lot of my friends have goats.

[01:07:46] Yeah.

[01:07:47] So this tells you where we're at okay.

[01:07:48] We don't have accents but a lot of us have goats.

[01:07:51] Oh my gosh I want an alpaca because I would use the fur.

[01:07:55] They're crazy.

[01:07:56] They are crazy but they have the softest fur.

[01:07:58] My one of my best, Mary's family almost bought an alpaca farm.

[01:08:02] They met some alpacas and they said screw this.

[01:08:05] Llamas are worse though.

[01:08:06] We're petty enough.

[01:08:07] Llamas are terrifying.

[01:08:08] Yeah I mean, I just want a goat.

[01:08:12] Fair.

[01:08:13] Anyway I'm sorry.

[01:08:14] Miss me with those horses.

[01:08:16] So that, well she also had a major horse.

[01:08:19] Wow.

[01:08:20] Lil Sebastian.

[01:08:21] Yeah.

[01:08:22] His name was Bulls Eye okay.

[01:08:24] He predated Lil Sebastian.

[01:08:27] Anyway I'm so sorry but that defines where we live.

[01:08:31] Everyone has farm animals but we got two major universities that Obama cares about in his bracket.

[01:08:39] Okay like right here.

[01:08:41] Like 10 minutes from us.

[01:08:43] Yeah.

[01:08:44] Okay 12 for you sorry.

[01:08:46] Okay so anyway.

[01:08:47] 10 if I drive fast.

[01:08:49] What was my point?

[01:08:53] Timber in the eye.

[01:08:54] Oh timber thank you so much.

[01:08:56] Okay so we have Silver Spot which like in the movie, the typical like early 2000s indie movie is like the just came in.

[01:09:05] Like this theater's gonna decimate our local cute theater with the old guy owned it his wife died and everything you know what I mean?

[01:09:13] And it's like we got to support.

[01:09:15] We got to support.

[01:09:16] Jerry and like everybody loves you know Silver Spot is like the thing right.

[01:09:21] They bring you food.

[01:09:22] They bring you food to your seat and it's so effing annoying because they always get confused like Kaylee and I went to a movie and this lady there was no one else in the theater.

[01:09:29] This lady sat right next to me and I said okay first of all just move over.

[01:09:33] I'm telling you a sign seating is terrible I hate it now.

[01:09:36] But also like the thing is she looked at the seats.

[01:09:40] Yeah.

[01:09:41] And then nominated to sit right next to these people.

[01:09:44] And all her friends sat down the front and they I guess they all ordered together and so she was like that's not mine.

[01:09:50] And it was like in the movie she's like mine's one of the ones in there.

[01:09:53] Can you please like you find it?

[01:09:55] It's got shrimp and then okay.

[01:09:57] But so anyway so to define the difference between these two we went to see Kaylee and I went to see a movie at Silver Spot a couple days before.

[01:10:06] I think Star Wars even came out and they had all the characters walking around like full storm Cooper outfits Darth Vader was there.

[01:10:15] I said he's not even involved guys.

[01:10:17] They had everybody walking around they have the big like backdrop you take pictures in front of everything like they had everything.

[01:10:25] They did that when I saw the first of the new ones.

[01:10:27] Yeah.

[01:10:28] Oh that was huge.

[01:10:29] I think that was like the first movie that Silver Spot had when they opened and my whole family we like went and we took pictures with them.

[01:10:36] And for Rogue One they went crazy too.

[01:10:39] They had like the ships and stuff out they had like a ship out there.

[01:10:42] Yeah.

[01:10:43] It was crazy.

[01:10:44] Meanwhile Henry and I went to see it opening weekend at Timberline and basically we got our tickets from this really really sweet girl who works there.

[01:10:55] Who kind of reminds me of Ally actually very sweet and everything just because she's short and got pretty light eyes and you know black Irish look.

[01:11:05] Yeah sure.

[01:11:06] You have a black Irish look too.

[01:11:08] She does.

[01:11:09] Yeah.

[01:11:10] I'm Irish.

[01:11:11] Get some tattoos.

[01:11:12] Oh don't.

[01:11:13] That makes sense.

[01:11:14] You would be so weird with tattoos please don't.

[01:11:16] Wasn't gonna.

[01:11:17] Yeah no sorry he wants to be buried in a Jewish cemetery.

[01:11:20] Yeah.

[01:11:21] Let me just like put some blue paint on you just to see what it looks like.

[01:11:25] Blue paint.

[01:11:26] Yeah because you know the Irish they had like the blue tattoos you know the black haired Irish clans people.

[01:11:33] I don't know crap but I know now.

[01:11:35] So that'd be kind of cool.

[01:11:37] Oh like that movie with Michael Fassbender.

[01:11:39] Yeah which one?

[01:11:40] The movie with Michael Fassbender.

[01:11:41] Hunger?

[01:11:42] No.

[01:11:43] It's very nobody knows about it.

[01:11:45] There's no Michael Fassbender in here.

[01:11:46] Oh oh oh Trespass against us?

[01:11:49] Absolutely not Henry.

[01:11:50] Nobody knows about that when it's about Irish people.

[01:11:52] That's got the Gleason family in it.

[01:11:54] It does.

[01:11:55] Everyone knows about it.

[01:11:56] Joanna.

[01:11:57] That's what I'm talking about.

[01:11:58] What?

[01:11:59] Joanna Gleason.

[01:12:00] No sorry.

[01:12:01] No no no.

[01:12:03] Anyway it's really old and it's like he's wearing furs and stuff it's like an old.

[01:12:08] It's set old.

[01:12:09] Ancient times.

[01:12:10] Yeah it's set old.

[01:12:11] It's set old.

[01:12:12] I gotta get this point out.

[01:12:14] Then so Henry and she's a great, she's very nice, she's the only one who works there frankly

[01:12:19] who doesn't annoy me.

[01:12:21] No offense everybody else.

[01:12:24] Napoleon Dynamite basically.

[01:12:25] He gets on my effing nerves.

[01:12:27] His favorite movie is Holy Grail.

[01:12:31] Napoleon Dynamite is favorite movie is Holy Grail.

[01:12:34] And he sees us every week but he always makes me go back to my car to get my ID.

[01:12:38] That's embarrassing.

[01:12:39] I don't like that.

[01:12:41] No.

[01:12:42] Anyway.

[01:12:43] So she was dressed and we turn away and Henry says who was she dressed up as?

[01:12:48] I said at first I thought Shrek but it was definitely Yoda.

[01:12:51] But like that's the contrast.

[01:12:54] At first I thought Shrek.

[01:12:56] Because she had basically she had a headband with construction paper green like things coming

[01:13:05] out.

[01:13:06] Coming out of her head.

[01:13:08] That's just the amazing difference between Silver Spot and Timberline.

[01:13:12] And honestly which one do you really want?

[01:13:14] You want Timberline.

[01:13:16] Come on.

[01:13:17] I mean like that's where when it's snowy we'll like walk to Timberline and go see the movies.

[01:13:23] It's beautiful.

[01:13:24] It's so great.

[01:13:26] My childhood.

[01:13:27] Why do we only, we trash everyone except the one place that can't afford to sponsor

[01:13:33] us.

[01:13:34] Very stupid.

[01:13:36] Not smart.

[01:13:38] Well any non-spoiler stuff and we can do a little spoiler talk.

[01:13:47] Nothing?

[01:13:48] I give it a little snow globe.

[01:13:50] It still has like the snow equivalent but somehow all the waters come out.

[01:13:56] Alright.

[01:13:57] Two and a half.

[01:13:59] I have a snow globe like that.

[01:14:00] Oh yeah?

[01:14:01] Yeah it's a little prince so I won't get rid of it.

[01:14:03] I don't know how the water came out of it though.

[01:14:05] Okay I did some research on it one time because I was like so confused about how all, because

[01:14:11] my mom had a snow globe collection and somehow all of them had disappeared.

[01:14:15] And it has something to do with the glue and if it's too porous or something then the

[01:14:21] water will evaporate out.

[01:14:23] That's sick.

[01:14:25] I like that.

[01:14:26] We can test that.

[01:14:27] We can try to put water in it.

[01:14:29] See how it works.

[01:14:30] Via the glue pours.

[01:14:32] Yeah.

[01:14:33] That's a fun one.

[01:14:35] Science.

[01:14:36] It's a two and a half for me.

[01:14:38] It's solid like 1.5.

[01:14:42] Maybe even a one.

[01:14:44] I love that it's true.

[01:14:46] 0.5 sounds way more severe than half.

[01:14:50] Half sounds nice.

[01:14:52] 0.5 says you've ebbed up.

[01:14:54] It's a decimal.

[01:14:55] Yeah that's six underground territory.

[01:14:58] Sorry.

[01:14:59] Oh god.

[01:15:01] Have you seen that?

[01:15:02] A Netflix, the new Michael Bay movie?

[01:15:04] I have not.

[01:15:05] You gotta check it out.

[01:15:06] It'll screw you up.

[01:15:07] Oh yeah big time.

[01:15:08] You gotta mess with my head.

[01:15:09] Yeah big time.

[01:15:10] Yeah.

[01:15:11] Okay.

[01:15:12] I'll watch it after this.

[01:15:13] It's like talking to a person who's done a lot of acid and last time it didn't.

[01:15:21] I went to art school.

[01:15:23] But you know someone who can't get out.

[01:15:26] This is a good PSA.

[01:15:28] If you do acid it's possible that you won't ever come out of your little thing.

[01:15:34] But just emotionally not the cool part as it were.

[01:15:38] Actually fun fact one of my freshman friends got really adventurous our sophomore year

[01:15:43] and that's what happened.

[01:15:44] She like went crazy and we tried to help her and she like would not listen to us

[01:15:48] and we all just had to like cut her off for our well being.

[01:15:53] Yeah so that's what it's like to watch.

[01:15:56] Have a conversation with.

[01:15:58] I have a feeling I'm gonna be really aggravated watching this move.

[01:16:01] Oh yeah.

[01:16:02] Cause like my instinct is to like try to help and like.

[01:16:05] You can't help.

[01:16:06] I can't help.

[01:16:07] You can't help six undergram.

[01:16:08] No you can't help Michael.

[01:16:09] You can't help them.

[01:16:10] So alright well let's get into spoilers for the rise of Skywalker so if you haven't

[01:16:17] seen the movie you can skip ahead.

[01:16:20] FF.

[01:16:21] Yeah.

[01:16:22] Alright well what's on everybody's mind here.

[01:16:24] That's the really it's like middle school the level of unfortunate kissing situations

[01:16:33] in this movie.

[01:16:34] Yeah so the big one is and I sent Chloe the.

[01:16:39] Yeah.

[01:16:40] Crazy.

[01:16:41] So there's the Kylo Ren Ray kiss which everybody in our theater was like.

[01:16:48] Big hated it.

[01:16:49] I like big hate.

[01:16:50] I think we heard someone go.

[01:16:52] Yeah we did everybody hated it.

[01:16:54] It looked so forced and stifled and uncomfortable.

[01:16:58] They have sibling chemistry because that's what they grew throughout the thing.

[01:17:01] Everyone was like oh they're going to be siblings.

[01:17:04] And then the comment from JJ Abrams was saying that it's a brother and sister kiss

[01:17:10] you know.

[01:17:11] They've been through all of this hard.

[01:17:14] Let them kiss on the cheek or something.

[01:17:16] They've been through this terrible journey so it's like almost like a sign of relief.

[01:17:19] It's like I don't think siblings do that.

[01:17:21] I don't think so.

[01:17:22] At the end of a hard journey.

[01:17:23] No we hope not.

[01:17:24] You know I don't at least.

[01:17:26] Now JJ I don't know about you.

[01:17:28] Yeah does JJ have.

[01:17:29] You got some issues there.

[01:17:31] Oprah has to call his sister see if she's okay.

[01:17:33] Get Oprah on the phone.

[01:17:34] And like the hands it was clearly like passionate.

[01:17:37] Yeah.

[01:17:38] Also it was on the lips.

[01:17:39] That's not really.

[01:17:40] It was on the lips.

[01:17:41] What siblings do that.

[01:17:42] Yeah they don't.

[01:17:43] No.

[01:17:44] Not even Gemma and I don't do that.

[01:17:45] No.

[01:17:46] No.

[01:17:47] My friends from Kentucky don't even do that.

[01:17:50] It's just not a thing.

[01:17:53] It just made it feel so goofy.

[01:17:55] Yeah and gross.

[01:17:56] Also whether they're related or not I also read this other stuff saying that they basically

[01:18:01] have the same and again I'm just reading stuff.

[01:18:05] I don't know anything and I don't know if this is true or not or adds up but it

[01:18:09] was like I don't know if it was vulture or something but it was like a real.

[01:18:13] Yeah it was like a legitimate.

[01:18:15] Yeah relatively.

[01:18:16] It was people is they were nerds who would know their stuff and knew that they'd get told off

[01:18:20] if they didn't know that they were incorrect.

[01:18:22] Yeah but they said that it was basically at the very least a John Snowden areas relationship.

[01:18:28] Hmm.

[01:18:29] Okay.

[01:18:30] Nobody wants that either.

[01:18:32] No.

[01:18:33] It was all bad.

[01:18:34] It was.

[01:18:35] And like they took away from the moment as well.

[01:18:37] They did have to be into each other to care about each other.

[01:18:40] It could literally just be him saying like oh you know you deserve to continue like I'm

[01:18:46] going to do this thing you know like.

[01:18:49] Yeah honestly just like even if you just like kiss your hand or something.

[01:18:53] Yeah kiss her forehead or something like you know.

[01:18:57] Just hug yeah yeah honestly why couldn't they just fist bump.

[01:19:02] When did the when did the hugging go out the window you know.

[01:19:04] Well that's how Finn and Poe greeted each other.

[01:19:07] Oh yeah and do it do a neck hug.

[01:19:09] Oh my god they hugged like friends.

[01:19:13] Yeah so that was.

[01:19:15] It really it really spat in our face also in the entire the entire movie they kept saying

[01:19:21] or at least Kylo kept saying like we're two halves were like I don't remember the word

[01:19:26] that he used it's like triad but two and it was really weird because who's who's

[01:19:30] it's like dyad or something.

[01:19:32] It sounds weird anyway but yeah they kept saying that they were like connected

[01:19:38] like Harry and Voldemort like you know connected so it doesn't make sense

[01:19:45] because they're in love.

[01:19:46] Yeah it doesn't make sense.

[01:19:47] Also they barely know each other.

[01:19:49] Yeah they're like yin and yang sort of like.

[01:19:51] All the Jedi's get down with all the Jedi's or what that's not a thing.

[01:19:55] It's not.

[01:19:56] It might be but I don't think so.

[01:19:57] Don't like all the Jedi's abstain pretty much or they're all gay.

[01:20:01] Again don't look at me I don't know.

[01:20:03] Oh Obi-Wan could definitely be gay.

[01:20:06] Yeah.

[01:20:07] Again just based off of you and McGregor looks and everything.

[01:20:11] Yeah.

[01:20:12] So.

[01:20:13] Oh yeah he and Anakin would have been cute probably less age appropriate than the

[01:20:17] Natalie Portman that again I don't really understand how that all happened.

[01:20:20] No.

[01:20:21] Yeah.

[01:20:22] Because she was like what 14 and he was like nine.

[01:20:25] He was six years old.

[01:20:27] Yeah.

[01:20:28] He was a little baby bull cut.

[01:20:29] He could barely walk.

[01:20:32] You know weird.

[01:20:33] That's right.

[01:20:34] He was running around his little pack in play.

[01:20:36] There's no way.

[01:20:37] Yeah.

[01:20:38] Well there's yeah so there's that and then of course the whole thing with Daisy Ridley

[01:20:42] being a descendant.

[01:20:43] Aw terrible.

[01:20:44] General Palpatine which again we were talking about.

[01:20:47] Palpatine had sex?

[01:20:49] That's what I kept.

[01:20:51] I was so mad at myself for thinking about that constantly.

[01:20:55] No okay so I looked it up and apparently there's like this whole thing.

[01:20:59] The midi-chlorians.

[01:21:00] Yeah he could like put his essence into like impregnate someone without actually having sex.

[01:21:06] That's like a Jedi force thing.

[01:21:08] Ew that's a Jedi thing.

[01:21:10] Yeah they can like yeah so that's arguably even worse.

[01:21:15] Yeah.

[01:21:16] Ugh.

[01:21:17] That's really bad.

[01:21:18] But then also he wouldn't care about that kid which also doesn't make sense.

[01:21:24] Like are they escaped somehow?

[01:21:25] I mean it was his son and he killed his son.

[01:21:27] Oh he killed his son?

[01:21:28] Yeah and then he killed killing Eve.

[01:21:31] Oh right.

[01:21:32] Yeah.

[01:21:33] So how did his son get away?

[01:21:34] I don't know exactly that's my question like why was he obsessed with Rey and not obsessed

[01:21:39] with his son?

[01:21:40] Does like the evil Palpatine powers skip a generation?

[01:21:43] Maybe.

[01:21:44] I don't know they didn't answer these questions you know it makes no sense.

[01:21:48] Palpatine shouldn't have been there.

[01:21:50] They killed Snoke and they were like we have to find a Snoke adjacent bring Palpatine.

[01:21:54] I would have liked if it was just Richard E Grant he's scary AF.

[01:21:58] Yeah.

[01:21:59] Just make him somehow get and I know again I don't know anything about the canon.

[01:22:03] I'm sure there's some way he could have like you know drunk something that made him.

[01:22:08] Well there's like the clones you know they were dobbling in clone science in a prequel

[01:22:13] trilogy.

[01:22:14] Okay so let Richard E Grant sip some of that clone juice.

[01:22:17] Like maybe they clone him but they didn't say that in the movie they didn't make

[01:22:21] it clear so it's like if you had just made it clear that he had all those people.

[01:22:26] Yeah who are they?

[01:22:27] And their little uh what the heck.

[01:22:29] Senate thing.

[01:22:30] Very strange.

[01:22:31] Also I told Henry they ripped that whole third act straight from a Doctor Who finale with

[01:22:37] David Tennant.

[01:22:38] It was wait was David Tennant?

[01:22:40] It gets a little blurry.

[01:22:41] I think it was D10 but I could be.

[01:22:43] I think I know the one that you're talking about.

[01:22:44] Not to mention the it chapter 2.

[01:22:47] Oh the cave.

[01:22:48] They just used the same one.

[01:22:49] Same cave as the chapter 2.

[01:22:50] Yeah.

[01:22:51] But yeah.

[01:22:52] With the.

[01:22:53] Yeah.

[01:22:54] The throne yeah the thing but yeah no straight from Doctor Who I really think it was David

[01:23:02] Tennant but I could be wrong but if you know you know cause that was like powerful when

[01:23:06] all the things came in.

[01:23:07] All the spaceships came in.

[01:23:08] Yeah.

[01:23:09] Little Dunkirk moment all that stuff straight from Doctor Who and we know JJ has watched

[01:23:16] a lot of Doctor Who.

[01:23:18] He's a Whovian.

[01:23:19] Yeah.

[01:23:20] So yeah that kind of bothered me as well but the thing that did make me most irritated I

[01:23:27] guess aside from well you know I'm me and I love to stand so I was upset and they have

[01:23:33] mad chemistry so I was very upset that Oscar Isaac and John Boyega didn't get together.

[01:23:38] Finn and Poe.

[01:23:39] I also very much like named Finn and Poe.

[01:23:41] Yeah.

[01:23:42] That's probably the best part of all of them.

[01:23:43] Yeah.

[01:23:44] It's really good names.

[01:23:45] Finn, Pan, Ro.

[01:23:46] Nope almost.

[01:23:47] No.

[01:23:48] But there's.

[01:23:49] But I'm so sorry.

[01:23:50] No please.

[01:23:51] Other than that the thing that upset me most it's like the whole idea I thought that would

[01:23:58] have been cool is if like the whole point I think a lot of people felt this way is that

[01:24:01] like she wasn't anybody special.

[01:24:03] Like she wasn't.

[01:24:04] That's what I was going to say.

[01:24:05] Yeah.

[01:24:06] That she wasn't from a lineage like whatever.

[01:24:07] Yeah.

[01:24:08] You can just if you work hard and everything.

[01:24:10] You can become.

[01:24:11] You can be that.

[01:24:12] Yeah.

[01:24:13] Cause that's the end of The Last Jedi where it's like oh yeah it could a hero

[01:24:17] could come from anywhere.

[01:24:18] Yeah.

[01:24:19] It doesn't matter and so then they completely cut that out.

[01:24:22] Oh never mind.

[01:24:23] It was Palpatine.

[01:24:24] If you come from an elite bloodline you'll be fine.

[01:24:28] Exactly.

[01:24:29] Cause that's all it is.

[01:24:30] It's Skywalker's and Palpatine like.

[01:24:35] Yeah I agree.

[01:24:36] And we're in whatever territory, spoiler territory and Finn's.

[01:24:43] Yeah.

[01:24:44] Finn was the little Jedi and you're right.

[01:24:47] That's what he was trying to tell her.

[01:24:49] Yeah.

[01:24:50] Yeah it's nice nice catch there.

[01:24:52] I mean I'm pretty sure.

[01:24:54] No for sure cause he kept like I feel it and everything.

[01:24:57] Yeah.

[01:24:58] And then the weird was that lady from random play the island of lost toys trying to

[01:25:04] get with a boyega.

[01:25:05] Oh that was that was random too.

[01:25:07] Cause she was following him around.

[01:25:09] Deflect.

[01:25:10] What's it when you like deflect?

[01:25:13] Diversion.

[01:25:14] Diversion.

[01:25:15] Diff.

[01:25:16] Yes I know what you mean yeah.

[01:25:17] Yeah anyway it's a D word when you like mutiny and never mind.

[01:25:22] The other power ranger.

[01:25:23] Oh that!

[01:25:24] Yeah.

[01:25:25] Oh what's that called when you like leave the army and stuff not deserter but.

[01:25:31] Diffur.

[01:25:32] I don't know.

[01:25:33] Anyway she and then Red Power Ranger.

[01:25:36] Yeah.

[01:25:37] You know both of them.

[01:25:38] And then of course there's the what we touched on earlier the Daisy Ridley or Ray

[01:25:45] saving Kylo Ren which was again that's like again.

[01:25:49] He should have died in the ocean on that thing.

[01:25:52] Yeah and it like again that's like it's yeah it's such a powerful moment there

[01:25:56] where he's you think he's gonna die and that's it and then now also.

[01:26:00] At least he should have to stay on the I'd be fine if he was just stranded

[01:26:03] on the low rock forever.

[01:26:04] Sure.

[01:26:05] That'd be fine cause I get it he's like a sad boy whatever we don't need

[01:26:07] him to die murder alone time.

[01:26:09] You know let him think they want us to forget that he's very murderous

[01:26:14] and horrid and everything fine you really Harrison Ford you really let us

[01:26:19] forget that okay yeah exactly daddy issues whatever goodness gracious

[01:26:23] big time your name is Adam congratulation was named Ben

[01:26:27] congratulations oh my god like like my guy another chapter to tie in there

[01:26:33] look at you go but I got you yeah just like leave him on the little rock

[01:26:39] I don't understand how he got off the rock that's another thing yeah just

[01:26:43] leave him bleeding on the rock okay didn't she even take his lightsaber

[01:26:46] she gave his lightsaber back to him now yeah but then he like threw it

[01:26:50] right oh he did that when he was talking with daddy make her less

[01:26:54] of an idiot for giving it back to him what are you doing yeah oh my god

[01:27:00] I was wanting him to I told Henry I said this would only be good if he pushes

[01:27:05] daddy off again the only way I want this oh my god I just wanted him to die

[01:27:13] and then also that's the scene where Harrison Ford comes in yeah I realize

[01:27:18] the script is co-written by Chris Terrio who did Batman v Superman and

[01:27:23] Justice League that scene is directly ripped out of really Batman v Superman

[01:27:28] Superman is on this mountaintop and his father comes to him as a illusion or

[01:27:33] apparition and see like the exact same wow thank I see you Chris I got I caught

[01:27:40] that but not in the nice avatar way no not that kind of see you also like

[01:27:46] how disrespect oh that was good to Carrie Fisher that she was like oh I just

[01:27:51] have to like say Ben's name it's gonna take all my strength and I'm gonna

[01:27:55] die like that was such a disrespectful way for Leia to end like yeah I get what

[01:28:02] they were going for yeah it was pretty bad like it just it made no sense it was

[01:28:07] out of left field she was like oh I have to go now it's my time like not a

[01:28:13] jerk she would have done that way earlier yeah that was gonna work she would

[01:28:16] have sacrificed herself a long time ago yeah and then of course there the

[01:28:23] the one I mentioned what we're gonna say something no I'm just always open

[01:28:29] okay why you see a made fun of for being American girl though huh part of it

[01:28:33] the wide rule when Ray blows up the ship and you think Chewbacca has died yeah

[01:28:39] those such a moving movie wasn't yeah because it's more not more so well she

[01:28:43] was upset too that that's what she screamed his name it felt really real

[01:28:47] not so much that his death but how she's reacting to what she's done like that was

[01:28:52] so moving I was like I'm totally back in now yeah and then two scenes later oh no

[01:28:56] he knows that was a different plan that was a joke but also like it I feel

[01:29:01] like if you're going to say later on that she's a Palpatine you know having

[01:29:06] those moments where it really shows that she cares about people yeah are

[01:29:10] impactful because it would like you know build up the fact that hey she

[01:29:14] may come from this evil bloodline evil but she's not and that she has made

[01:29:19] mistakes she's made mistakes having to question okay yeah is that me killing

[01:29:23] someone is that because I'm bad or exactly I made a mistake yeah yeah Chewie

[01:29:28] did nothing in the movie after that nothing nothing I stayed dead something

[01:29:32] it might have alluded to even like I would have liked it I think if they

[01:29:37] had alluded to her because they always talk about how she's struggling with

[01:29:40] light and dark but she never actually is yeah I would have liked if we had a

[01:29:44] little little Harry Potter moment or something I'm sure there are better

[01:29:47] references than that a little emo ray you know a little where she just

[01:29:51] accidentally it's not Harry Potter who am I trying to think of anyway where

[01:29:55] she just accidentally does bad things with her powers by literally by

[01:30:00] accents like after she like blew Chewie up or whatever if like you see the

[01:30:04] sand around her just like going crazy for a second yeah you know what I

[01:30:08] mean yeah yeah I know exactly what you're trying to reference and I can't pull it

[01:30:13] out of my memory banks it's locked up yeah and we watch all the same stuff so

[01:30:18] that's not helpful no yeah but like and they did it for like two seconds with

[01:30:24] who I thought was Natalie Portman for a second but it was just dark gray like

[01:30:28] they made it out to be this big thing in the trailers and in the last movie

[01:30:32] now yeah I remember that when she goes down that little cave thing and then

[01:30:36] it was just like they made it seem like it was gonna be yeah you know and so I

[01:30:39] I almost would have liked it more if like she went dark for a while me too

[01:30:44] like maybe dipped her feet in like the tidal pool of like evilness and then

[01:30:49] realized this is not very safe yeah yeah it's like oh Ray is too perfect she's

[01:30:54] she would never do that she would never you know and maybe even what put her

[01:30:58] over the edge would have been if she actually just let Adam driver die

[01:31:01] Adam driver yeah exactly she was like I could save you but I'm not I mean because

[01:31:06] the most interesting at least for me I think that the Ray character is the

[01:31:11] most interesting arc and then she and Kyla Ren that's what's kind of carried

[01:31:15] me through all three of them and so when that one when that relationship is

[01:31:21] like smothered yeah completely it's just when it's not able to flourish and

[01:31:27] like do its own thing but I agree she should have they should have had a part

[01:31:31] of the film where she was dark and then she has to find a way out of it yeah

[01:31:35] because again it's just little tiny moments that are gone within a few

[01:31:39] scenes where was Goblet or no order the Phoenix all caps Ray exactly come on

[01:31:46] yeah and again I just keep saying it I don't know I don't know so I don't

[01:31:51] have deep investment so I don't really deserve to have that much of a

[01:31:54] set but I feel like cuz it's like the big finale right this is it this is a parent

[01:32:00] only allegedly mm-hmm I don't know what else they could do but again what do I know

[01:32:05] well maybe this shouldn't have happened yeah was it necessary true but um I

[01:32:11] feel like they almost should have gone like um oh crap what's the name of that

[01:32:17] Batman Liam Neeson Batman Batman moment yeah we're just like a lot of it's

[01:32:23] just like she's prepping mm-hmm oh yeah yeah yeah the long training the training

[01:32:29] yeah and that's where you might get some of that darkness coming dealing with that

[01:32:36] kind of stuff yeah I agree just like more character stuff and less of the

[01:32:41] random this action sequences nobody needed the battle yeah took forever

[01:32:46] yeah nobody wants it okay yeah and I'd said to you to you also when we were

[01:32:53] leaving that you you said you liked but I wasn't as crazy about it's just there

[01:32:58] was so much plot like I just felt like the characters which yeah the characters

[01:33:04] were so subdued yeah in terms of that that I just it was so uninteresting

[01:33:09] well it also just it felt really bloated and like every time there was a

[01:33:13] problem it would be solved immediately afterwards yeah so it's like why was that

[01:33:17] even here to begin with if you're just gonna solve it in the next scene out of

[01:33:21] the air like oh you know my I just remembered my favorite part of the

[01:33:25] movie I totally cut you off for something no it's okay I loved the little

[01:33:29] Asperger's robot yeah don't touch me I said this is always a close I loved

[01:33:37] last burger robot yeah he was everything I've ever wanted yeah very precious that's all

[01:33:43] I have to say that was me but even he would want anything but was even he was a

[01:33:46] stupid plot point in the end they're like oh you happen to have everything we need

[01:33:50] also didn't they do that with BB8 yeah it happened to have everything they needed

[01:33:54] to mm-hmm and the whole I don't know to restmate the droid like trying to

[01:33:58] their droids right yeah trying to make it a little more uh that's not a real

[01:34:03] tie and that's not a real yeah one thing I did like was the when they're the action

[01:34:11] sequence when they're towards beginning when they're going through the desert

[01:34:15] and there's the jetpack clone trooper guy yeah catapulted I thought that was cool

[01:34:20] that was one of the few things I thought yeah because it was doing something

[01:34:24] different yeah cuz really everything else feels so and coming from JJ Abrams

[01:34:29] who seems so passionate yeah it feels so uninspired and every way oh yeah the

[01:34:35] biggest time the biggest role my eyes actually was when they were like I guess

[01:34:40] that's how they're gonna do it when they like had the ability to like blow up

[01:34:44] planets or something yeah I guess until they're gonna be those by blowing up

[01:34:48] plan that's true actually it's for good point at the other day I did not I

[01:34:52] do not understand what happened actually at all like why didn't anybody blow up

[01:34:56] any planets yeah I don't know also that's right from Doctor Who they were blowing

[01:35:00] up planets that was the whole thing in that thing is that I'm not kidding no no

[01:35:04] I'm not I believe you and then like it felt really unnecessary too because we're

[01:35:09] like oh look there's this secret Armada and all of the secret ships have death

[01:35:14] star rays it's like it really felt like a 12 year old writing this out you

[01:35:20] know on notebook paper during class like it just yeah especially cuz like why

[01:35:25] they've been doing anything I know I'm like also like why didn't they why didn't

[01:35:28] they do this in the first place yeah because wasn't it like in the first movie

[01:35:31] the last Jedi no not the last force awakens they were like building another

[01:35:36] death star type thing right yeah why would they do that if these secret

[01:35:41] death starships already exist like it was deep state Chloe how'd you feel

[01:35:47] about Donal Gleason his demise well first of all the minute he popped up on

[01:35:53] screen I perked right on up as you know cuz I hate you I was thrilled I was just

[01:36:01] brought right back to life I love him love him love him and I kind of liked that

[01:36:07] he was a snake because he's a snake yeah I liked it yeah yeah it was not bad

[01:36:12] not bad not bad at all good I like that it was just cuz he was petty

[01:36:17] that's that yeah that was a good yeah it made it work yeah but also like how sad are

[01:36:23] these people like this is terrible don't know you can't take down this idiot you

[01:36:29] gotta be this kind of secret sassy also with Richard E. Grant and the other

[01:36:33] ones no I don't think he was maybe in last Jedi but not I don't think such a

[01:36:41] good bad guy I mean like yeah again I shouldn't talk but I just would have liked a

[01:36:47] lot more for just like a lot more grounded just some real people I would have liked

[01:36:51] if Kylo Ren was out of the picture I would have liked if both sides if the like

[01:36:56] don't know was trying to take him down but in a really like bureaucratic way

[01:36:59] yeah I would have liked if those guys like Richard E. Grant cuz he's good if

[01:37:04] there was like instability within yeah that's what happens yeah and that's

[01:37:08] realistic uh-huh so we given it we're giving him some clone juice he's getting

[01:37:13] some powers that way I don't know but that's fine yeah he could even have

[01:37:17] droid himself there's a lot of things you can do I mean he sort of was Robo

[01:37:21] Cop in here he was like you know on the thing that like I have no idea it was

[01:37:25] like the giant like claw machine that was like moving him around I have no

[01:37:29] idea Palpatine right oh I thought you're talking about Kylo Ren no

[01:37:35] talking about either of them I'm like my Richard you mentioned the clone juice

[01:37:39] and it got me sidetracked yes oh yeah anyway but like this is so much I would

[01:37:46] like to more for just like people versus people yeah and it was like the little

[01:37:50] twist was that at the other day so then so Kylo was like going to the good side

[01:37:56] which again I don't know what the name is there's the dark side and then

[01:37:59] everybody else or something yeah but anyway but also and then the moment

[01:38:05] he got there basically Richard Grant stabs him in the back right because they

[01:38:12] always do from you know can't be looking course dramatic yeah and that's what

[01:38:18] turns right dark and blah blah blah and then they're fighting and she's like oh

[01:38:22] my god I'm no better than you and we all need Palpatine yeah no he's gross

[01:38:28] oh and also one thing with the characters the CP 30 come back yeah

[01:38:34] didn't he get his memory back yeah he did our 2d2 was just like oh I'm gonna put it

[01:38:37] in your head so obnoxious I know like every time they tried to do exactly let

[01:38:43] him form those memories and like have have them tell him these stories to be

[01:38:48] anyway like every time they would do something with like any emotional weight

[01:38:52] they would like negate it immediately afterwards especially like he's super

[01:38:55] annoying anyway yeah asking annoying questions for God really I'm I'm so

[01:39:02] I don't know what that was we got a C3 Pio stand I'm getting says excuse along with

[01:39:11] the the tie fighter thing I'm so tired of the like annoying robot yeah because

[01:39:17] they have to have one in every single one I like the last burgers robot though oh

[01:39:22] no he's good he was cute but like and because he didn't talk too much and rogue

[01:39:26] one we had the thank you the robot guy then and I think in solo we had there

[01:39:31] was one as well I think yeah and it just it's so tiresome don't need it it's not

[01:39:36] a thing that has to be replicated in every Star Wars now dang which is another

[01:39:40] reason why I like the Mandalorian so much because it doesn't fall into those

[01:39:43] tropes yeah did you hear about I mentioned this last time but you know

[01:39:48] what I'm talking about so I'm bringing back up okay yeah alright I'm sorry no

[01:39:51] worries I'm sure you heard the dude from Mandalorian was like on Instagram

[01:39:57] story or something no no just trashing the new Star Wars was he oh I love that

[01:40:02] that makes me really happy okay yeah dang I'm the only one who knows that's

[01:40:06] really cool yeah I haven't heard that you don't even have an Instagram twist yeah

[01:40:10] well oh something that I did really like at the end when all of the Jedi

[01:40:16] voices were like talking to Ray yeah Harry Potter Harry Potter style was

[01:40:21] all very one of them was a soka from the Clone Wars TV show I don't remember the

[01:40:27] name of it but it was like the animated Star Wars show from like my childhood

[01:40:31] she was like the main alien character and I loved that they had her voice

[01:40:36] actors come back who is also one of the judges for my costume contest nice

[01:40:41] this Eckert it was so cool yeah so anyway I was like I know who that is I

[01:40:45] recognize her voice yeah I know you gotta have a gun we have yeah but so yeah

[01:40:59] that was cool that was one thing I liked yeah alright well the last thing okay

[01:41:04] the whole thing was Ray caring about her I get why they did what they did whatever

[01:41:09] the whole thing was Ray caring about her parents right like it was the whole

[01:41:13] thing like a one of my parents and then at the end her little ghosties or her

[01:41:18] little Jedi parents which I understand but also that is rude it's Luke and Leia

[01:41:24] yeah they shouldn't be hey yeah leave room for Jesus with those two sure spread

[01:41:31] out a little bit now we'll see okay I didn't understand why they didn't have

[01:41:34] Kylo there too you know do do after they had this emotional moment that

[01:41:41] they shoved down her throats why wasn't he a force goes to why wasn't Harrison

[01:41:45] Ford there because she knew him for a little while but like I just I don't know

[01:41:49] I don't understand when did this gonna really show my ignorance and everyone

[01:41:53] will dismiss everything I've said but when was when did Princess Leia become

[01:41:57] a Jedi was she always a Jedi so like not in the original movies I think like

[01:42:03] in the books spin-off they sort of like elaborated on it yeah like the

[01:42:10] books like the the books yeah from like the 90s or 80s that all seely has all

[01:42:15] them I think it was way earlier we should ask like this we need to ask seely she

[01:42:19] can you give it all of them can you give us the Princess Leia T like when did she

[01:42:24] become a thing although I mean I like that they did that cuz like I would

[01:42:29] just be the boy yeah but I get it I get it but also like I think it's a

[01:42:36] way that they're trying to like correct it yeah where's it at don't worry I'm

[01:42:42] done now oh no no worries all right well anything else about Star Wars I've

[01:42:49] decided it's a it's one out of ten not even a 1.5 oh one out of ten that's a

[01:42:54] that's a that's a halfer right there okay it's a point five out of five yeah

[01:43:00] halfer halfer yeah all right well let's move on oh I can't deal with you still

[01:43:09] gotta get six underground that we did this and now we're doing it I think no

[01:43:14] offense Henry it's okay I'm excited such variety I like people being happy so

[01:43:19] I'm excited yeah such variety alright well let's just hope people aren't too mean

[01:43:24] to that girl like I hope I hope she can still leave Francesca what's her name

[01:43:28] she was she's Frankie well she's I mean the lead in Vanessa Francesca I think her

[01:43:34] character's name is Vanessa Victoria shoot her cat's name is Victoria I don't

[01:43:39] know what the actress's name is Francesca but she's like a lead in some huge ballet

[01:43:44] she's like some yeah she's the principal dancer in the yeah yeah I'm sure

[01:43:48] she'll be fine yeah that's a very limited career I'm just saying if she wants to

[01:43:53] like I'm like Aladdin okay I don't think so I don't think so but no because she I

[01:44:01] mean she also had like a big singing moment they added for her yeah which is

[01:44:06] well good we'll get to it yeah we'll get to it all right let's move on let's get

[01:44:09] to cats and we have a clip move on just say here's a clip here's a clip take a

[01:44:15] listen tonight is a magical night where I choose the cat that deserves a new life

[01:44:31] going to the ball could get dangerous okay so

[01:44:40] so cats is directed by Tom Hooper stars Francesca a word Taylor Swift

[01:44:52] Idris Elba Judy Dench Rebel Wilson Laurie Davidson yeah Ian McKellen James

[01:44:58] Corden that's about a bunch of theater actors yeah yeah yeah let's say it again

[01:45:07] for the people in the bag Ian McKellen was there sir Ian McKellen yeah the

[01:45:16] synopsis like in vicious yeah I think with Judy Dench remember I was wondering

[01:45:20] is that why they keep making eye contact to be like oh look they've been in stuff

[01:45:25] together before maybe so they were in wasn't it like Macbeth way back in the

[01:45:28] day no Macbeth yeah cuz she was Lady Macbeth right was you make out on the

[01:45:34] I don't know Jesus probably I don't know there's only three of them they just wrote

[01:45:38] yeah they do and the synopsis is a tribe of cats called the Jellicles must decide

[01:45:47] yearly which one will send to the heavy side layer and come back to a new

[01:45:53] Jellicle life it's very mid-summer cerebral okay also I have to say so

[01:45:59] yeah so when I saw it on Broadway a few years ago there was this little kid in

[01:46:04] the lobby during intermission and she kept saying jingle bell cats jingle bell

[01:46:09] cats jingle bell cats and so that's like all I think forever like what are they

[01:46:15] jingle bell cats yeah well well this one has been getting

[01:46:24] through the month since the first trailer came out yeah but the thing is now I I

[01:46:29] told Chloe about this and I'm sure you've seen it but they have released

[01:46:33] officially a new version like a patch into the theaters now I saw this Saturday

[01:46:38] night which was before they did that when did y'all see this I saw it

[01:46:43] Christmas Eve okay so you saw the new one I saw the patched where did you

[01:46:47] say I her hand was fixed her right okay I was looking I was on the lookout cuz we

[01:46:55] yeah her hand in the version I saw was not done at all and you could see Judy

[01:47:00] Dench's wedding ring oh yeah so like there are some obvious okay goofs yeah and

[01:47:07] but even with the corrected version I'm sure it's still not it's winning

[01:47:13] a lot of people over it's really so strange hurt my eyes yeah there were

[01:47:18] moe Jennifer Hudson's face but I love I've had a permanent migraine for a couple

[01:47:23] months however the tears in the snot were my favorite characters her face her

[01:47:29] beautiful expressive amazing face that I love yeah uh I don't even this is

[01:47:40] really should I just go for it what I feel like please go for it made me feel

[01:47:44] like if I was looking at a oh crap what do you call lava lamp and then something

[01:47:51] accidentally happened and it just just breaks on my noggin and just oh no right

[01:47:57] on that what is going on with her yeah wobbly which to be fair was probably

[01:48:04] most of them but I just love Jennifer Hudson but also I don't know if they

[01:48:09] knew how to do brown people very well the brown looks way worse than everybody

[01:48:14] was an Asian extra and the part of it that was like human was so yellow I was

[01:48:23] like did you do this on purpose is it like a yellow purpose purpose I feel

[01:48:30] like we're gonna make a lot of cat puns I'm excited yeah well actually really bad

[01:48:33] at puns I can spot the accidental one yeah not purpose they just kind of

[01:48:38] like I'm like but they're like very obtuse and not good but I can't really make

[01:48:42] them interesting I don't know if you know this what's that Pamela and I'm not

[01:48:47] exaggerating okay my mother Pamela Strauss is the most excellent and I will

[01:48:54] fight there's nothing I believe in more than this honestly I'll vote for

[01:49:00] whoever you want the primary there's nothing I believe in more than this

[01:49:04] Pamela is the best at puns I can believe it anyone you'll ever meet yeah it's

[01:49:09] like Rain Man like it's not healthy how good she is at them that's just her

[01:49:13] energy like she's power yeah she's very good at them she can just go go go go

[01:49:19] go go go and at first people like find it endearing and then they're like

[01:49:22] stop if you like is she okay yeah yeah well she's very good yeah next time

[01:49:31] I see her I'm gonna like try to pun bait her it's not hard yeah no she loves it

[01:49:36] you can just say okay make some puns about cats okay cool well who wants to

[01:49:42] kick us off here anybody I mean I can go or Henry since you are the one that's

[01:49:49] more closely so excited let Henry go first and then you go and then we'll

[01:49:55] have rebuttal and then Chloe okay all right so first off I love cats the

[01:50:00] musical like the original I grew up like listening to the music and watching the

[01:50:05] DVD so really iconic really good I had a bunch of friends in the Broadway revival

[01:50:12] a few years ago I remember that lots of friends I had a lot of friends Kim

[01:50:16] Claire Tanner Andy John Joseph possibly but yeah so anyway there I had a lot of

[01:50:24] friends and I had a lot of investment in the cats franchise it was yes pretty

[01:50:32] pretty special so anyway when I heard they were making I do own 8% of cats

[01:50:37] stocks and shares and everything really sure but yeah so anyway when I heard that

[01:50:46] they were doing a movie I was like really you all want to do that because in the

[01:50:50] 90s there was supposed to be a animated one that was gonna be by the people who

[01:50:54] did an American tale okay you know the little cartoon mouse I've never seen that

[01:50:59] by now it's cute and all those naked lady in the window right I think that's

[01:51:03] the rescuers let's get a nice thing that either get Phil Lord and Chris

[01:51:06] Miller to do but anyway so they're supposed to be an animated movie like

[01:51:14] cartoon style and I feel like that's how it should have gone because even

[01:51:19] like the Broadway stage play they're people and like weirdly stylized cat

[01:51:23] costumes and even that is like strange and you have to like get acclimated for a

[01:51:29] little while before you can get into it you have to suspend disbelief and I

[01:51:33] feel like that's why you can't bring something like that to a worldwide movie

[01:51:37] going audience because they're not going to be able to suspend disbelief

[01:51:41] they're gonna say this looks weird I can't use my imagination also with a

[01:51:45] just gonna not plug in also with a bunch of celebs yeah with a bunch of

[01:51:50] celebrities that doesn't make it harder could you yeah maybe not even suited to

[01:51:54] the roles that they're playing sometimes I feel like some of the

[01:51:58] celebrity casting was not great she's singing anything the emotion she

[01:52:06] didn't make sense in the passion I don't give a crap yeah actually I'll get

[01:52:10] way more than I yeah I think she did make perfect sense but I didn't

[01:52:17] understand why I didn't think about any of it I can answer I had no cat's knowledge

[01:52:21] prior but her name was like glamourina or whatever is a Bella the glamour cat the

[01:52:27] glamour cat yeah but she was like homeless yeah so do you want me to go into

[01:52:32] grizzabella drugs did she lose her so yeah so she was she was basically the

[01:52:38] main stage you know glamorous beauty queen you know right star and she fell

[01:52:45] into hardship drugs sex oh yeah no she she like basically yeah she became a

[01:52:53] prostitute essentially that I was right yeah no that's that's literally what it

[01:52:57] is and I feel like they added more dialogue in the movie to try to make

[01:53:00] that clear that they were like oh she dialogue in the movie yeah she fell

[01:53:05] into a crowd they said that she went with McCavity the evil cat and then magical

[01:53:11] they also there's so much there's so much theater he's a death theater he

[01:53:16] Thanos snaps cats out of existence very so dumb that's my least favorite thing

[01:53:21] about the movie he's not a villain in the stage play he's just like a minor

[01:53:25] nuisance and they were like yeah they were like oh we have to make a villain

[01:53:29] because it's a movie so we're gonna make him a villain was really dumb but it

[01:53:33] was dumb because like he could have why you just prove himself another freaking

[01:53:37] thing yeah exactly the logic didn't make sense because at the end he tried to do

[01:53:41] his poofy thing and it didn't work so why why didn't it want why didn't it work

[01:53:45] anyway okay but yeah so you were totally right about grizzabella she like

[01:53:50] basically became homeless and was kicked out because she where they live yeah

[01:53:55] um so some of them live with people you know the callers yeah so some of

[01:54:01] them live with families and then some of them are like stray cats okay that are

[01:54:07] taken care of by the community but so yeah so I I guess it would have been

[01:54:13] just all new to me I'm overwhelmed I mean no offense it's just so much because

[01:54:24] it's the so the I I think I tend to have imagination like I can I can go to

[01:54:32] the display for everything right I wish I had known I like looked at all like T.S.

[01:54:36] Elliott I didn't know crap okay yeah I looked it all I found out all that later

[01:54:40] and I said what I didn't get any of that but if I knew before then probably a

[01:54:47] lot more but what a what a sunk on in there yeah but the fact that they're

[01:54:51] their own little for instance very simple example because I was all I said

[01:54:56] I mean we saw this trailer together far too many times right I remember when

[01:54:59] we showed it to see Lee and we were like oh she was she was like wash you

[01:55:03] couldn't take it in but I think we even have a video of it there is a very long

[01:55:09] video of it it's amazing but the yeah she was scared but the big thing the most

[01:55:16] simple thing I can think of we saw many times and every time I said you my cats

[01:55:20] are way bigger than that I said that's a door yeah how is it but the Jericho

[01:55:24] cats what they call Jellico Jellico cats are very small it says very cats it is a

[01:55:32] very teeny cats yeah they're like amber sweet pickle size okay yeah so if I had

[01:55:38] known that was a fat thing that was fact about their that was cannon yeah going

[01:55:44] in yeah I could have that wouldn't that would have been one off my shock list

[01:55:51] that would be like okay that that's why yeah okay there was a lot of other stuff

[01:55:58] though yeah I want to finish saying why I like it yeah please do okay so between

[01:56:09] the London production and the Broadway production they were like rewrites for

[01:56:13] some of the songs they used the London versions which makes me really happy

[01:56:17] because they're far superior the two like burglar cats the Broadway version

[01:56:24] of their song is so dumb and stupid it sounds like circus music and so I was

[01:56:28] really glad that they went with like the slow jazzy number rebel Wilson I don't

[01:56:35] think she was great I don't think she was great in the role it should have

[01:56:38] been Mrs. Weasley because she's supposed to be like an old woman oh she

[01:56:44] would have and can you imagine how great she would a lot of y'all know her as

[01:56:48] I mean I don't want to thank you I feel like a lot of people know her just

[01:56:51] Mrs. Weasley yeah she was in Mamma Mia don't understand Julie Walters I call

[01:56:57] to be crazy so extra yeah she's the best thing about Mary Poppins returns when

[01:57:06] he saw that at the theater like yes so incredible really well just loves to be

[01:57:11] extra she would have killed yeah rebel Wilson's like putting herself in this

[01:57:15] weird little so tired yeah what so tired of like weirdness yeah like she

[01:57:21] didn't sing at all like she just awkwardly went through the lines yeah well

[01:57:27] okay that's in the Broadway music that brings up question but she should have

[01:57:32] tapped my little eyebrows yes very it just I felt I feel like rebel Wilson was

[01:57:38] so I'm so over this cast I was not enjoying and that's like one of my

[01:57:43] favorite songs in the stage play because it's like it's a big production

[01:57:47] there's like tap dance and they like underplayed it because rebel Wilson just

[01:57:52] can't do things anyway so I don't understand why they cast her cuz yeah and I

[01:57:59] didn't like the little like what her hand was in the Mastra thing I'm not about

[01:58:01] that life no although I like the little mouse creatures creepy cockroach yeah

[01:58:07] how they were eating them scene with the in McKellen like it's like licking

[01:58:15] the milk yeah you know in McKellen was so into this role yeah he like did

[01:58:24] research yeah yeah I like I mean pretty much like so good

[01:58:39] you stand little no old man's I mean still I didn't understand what's going on yeah

[01:58:45] yeah yes no no I can answer any in all questions okay so I'll give my thoughts

[01:58:52] yeah so I like Chloe I have no knowledge of the cats play or any kind of

[01:58:59] production stuff and so I went in pretty blank and I think that is an

[01:59:03] issue yeah cuz I truly had no idea where things were going why this movie the

[01:59:11] weird death I mean that's an overwhelmingly weird thing and I think it's

[01:59:18] correct me if I'm not or I think I am on this as far as agreeing with the most

[01:59:24] people or what have you yeah not that matters but you take my point yeah but

[01:59:28] like the concept that all these cats are doing a talent show so one of them can

[01:59:34] die and be reborn is a little better yeah is so weird it was the 80s everyone

[01:59:41] was doing coke it's like a cool move yeah so weird yeah it's I think the issue

[01:59:48] is like because it came from these TS Eliot poems there was no story and Mr.

[01:59:55] Andrew Lloyd Webber I hate him completely insane no I hate him too and also I

[02:00:02] have to say I'm so glad that he did not have any part in this movie making

[02:00:06] process because he ruined the fandom of the opera by being involved it's the

[02:00:10] worst movie in existence and always will be Emmy Rossum is fine but

[02:00:15] everything else well isn't mini driver in it too yes she is she's good but

[02:00:20] she didn't sing they were done they were synced yeah they have like an opera

[02:00:24] singer sing for her because she can't sing many driver yeah she's good voice but

[02:00:29] she like couldn't sing the operatic no yeah so yeah no not at all anyway I'm

[02:00:36] Mr. Webber he's not a story man he's not he doesn't know how to string yeah

[02:00:43] yeah he is like all my Sarah Brightman you got out while you could and I stand

[02:00:49] like all of my complaints about plot I've never begged for plot more yeah yeah and

[02:00:55] see here's the thing in the musical there's no plot either it's literally

[02:01:01] it's just a vaudeville style show where they come out do sing-and-dancing and

[02:01:07] that's which is totally fine yeah like when it's hard to bring that we

[02:01:13] transfer that to a cinema it's like there has to be some kind of connecting

[02:01:18] for the cinematic like genre you have to make it fit into those

[02:01:22] because that energy is not there yeah the fact that being in an auditorium

[02:01:27] the live performances music and all also the thing that I was like okay but the

[02:01:35] like prima ballerina like that's really cool and everything but like the

[02:01:39] direction I guess plus the sea all the CGI on top of all them like they were

[02:01:44] dance on her little tippy toes but it didn't have point shoes on that it

[02:01:49] looked uncomfortable it did she was dancing on her little toes like that

[02:01:54] in real no like oh okay I think in real life she had I must say that is not

[02:01:59] allowed okay I'm pretty sure they were all wearing the little dot and I think

[02:02:03] she had like little dot point shoes but like in the fully rendered version she

[02:02:08] had little people toes that she was dancing cat pads yeah joke yeah like if

[02:02:14] anything they didn't give them little pads on their fingers come on the toe

[02:02:17] beans they need the toe beans they need them it's natural ballet shoes yeah also

[02:02:23] like in the musical at least all of them like try to make pause when they're not

[02:02:27] using their hands and here they were like we got fingers yeah we got

[02:02:31] fingers the magician yeah who arguably is my favorite just he was so precious

[02:02:37] because yeah my favorite I'm no way to drive by this and in this he was so sweet

[02:02:41] yeah I know they made him so good my fave yeah but he just had complete human

[02:02:47] he had not even a lot of powder on those hands maybe a little flower perhaps why

[02:02:53] didn't they give him like little white gloves don't boy he's a magician

[02:02:59] concurrence yeah well well I made them all wear mittens why don't they just put

[02:03:03] mittens I know yeah well with one thing that on the technical side so with the

[02:03:10] what really hurt the dancing actually two things and first of all the sound

[02:03:15] mixing I couldn't understand anything yeah that people were saying yeah and it's

[02:03:19] which yeah like you can get away with that in one way or the other sometimes

[02:03:24] but like it was constant like I wanted to know what they were saying can see I

[02:03:27] I knew what they were saying because I knew the words and exactly already but

[02:03:32] having years and years of listening to this but the instrumentation hold yeah

[02:03:36] it's so booming yeah that it drowns out any of the the orchestra was way too loud

[02:03:41] compared to the voices yeah sometimes I was like closing my eye you know how

[02:03:45] one sense yeah yeah I was trying to go there's really trying to listen to

[02:03:48] this is the sense you can afford to lose when I'm watching that movie and

[02:03:52] then also with Tom Hooper like it's he made it in a way to where he almost didn't

[02:03:58] like trust the audience to just appreciate the dancing as it is there was

[02:04:03] constant cuts you were caught like it's one thing to have like a few occasional

[02:04:08] cuts but like just have that lingering when the swooping and it yeah I did

[02:04:12] me of the the Schumacher style of filming oh yeah where it like it would

[02:04:17] pull out way too far and then come in way too close and it's like just to

[02:04:21] give us a wide enough angle that we can see all the people moving you don't have

[02:04:25] to do a bunch of cuts because that's like come on with a and you're a big fan

[02:04:29] like their friend is there ginger Rogers kind of like yeah that's the whole

[02:04:32] thing that makes that so that's what some of the songs are trying to emulate

[02:04:35] like that style of dancing cuz like that you can see okay they're actually doing

[02:04:39] it right there and but in this it's like who knows how they actually made

[02:04:44] who knows what the choreography actually looks like real behind the scenes

[02:04:48] the little feature ads and stuff I watched them before the movie were so much

[02:04:53] more exciting to watch yeah when the dumb little dots like I'm not a dancer

[02:04:57] I'm not a singer like I know this is not my connection but I like to like he said

[02:05:01] I love to appreciate and like they were so beautiful when they were dancing it

[02:05:07] looked like it was like a lot of work and everything yeah and then they just

[02:05:10] like take these giant crayons and just like go over the outline you like

[02:05:14] can barely see anything yeah like okay cuz also I didn't really like the

[02:05:18] colors and stuff I don't know how much I've seen clips the yeah I don't know

[02:05:23] which one I think it was just that they filmed like an 80s like a DVD version

[02:05:27] from the 90s so that was very dark and stuff like but there's thematic whatever

[02:05:31] and so I get that it's even hard to make comparisons just cuz it's like

[02:05:35] yeah people in costumes it's like a live stage performance yeah as opposed to

[02:05:40] but it was like so much the colors were so muddy and stuff to me anyway and

[02:05:45] also I think it's cuz the whole background for CGI so it all just like they

[02:05:49] weren't they were all practical effects really yeah they built all of the sets

[02:05:53] no way gigantic yeah well the color-correcting which surprise yeah it

[02:05:58] surprises me cuz there's like a I don't know like all of the featureettes they

[02:06:02] show them walking around in the big sets like oh look we actually built them

[02:06:05] um I don't know which ones you were watching I was watching the like the

[02:06:11] ones where they're talking about dancing and stuff I know they were

[02:06:13] just like a black group not black like blank walls whatever but that is that's

[02:06:19] some they they're correction all the sets who ha and I mean it's not it's nothing

[02:06:26] new but like just visually the effects on the cats is so not weird not only

[02:06:33] creepy and weird yeah even it didn't even look that detailed no like cuz like

[02:06:38] yeah I'm all up for you know Chloe you know I love talking animals I love

[02:06:43] it I know their faces were just faces yeah yeah and so they kind of lost that

[02:06:47] completely I still say what I said when they announced this movie it should have

[02:06:52] been the 2d cartoon animated one from the 90s yeah because if you're taking

[02:06:58] something that's so weird yeah there's the filmed version of the stage play

[02:07:01] that's really the best way that you can do it you gotta make it one

[02:07:04] you have to do well you have to do something different yeah you know and

[02:07:10] I think the stylization it's very strange and it's it's basically like a CG

[02:07:17] version of the stage costumes yeah but those were already weird to begin with

[02:07:21] so yeah because I mean it's they do it in a way to where you're always aware

[02:07:27] of who the person is yeah which is they should have just drowned that out

[02:07:33] yeah and just made it like cats made the voices of those yeah people yeah

[02:07:37] because then it's like you're only seeing Judy Dench yeah why the heck didn't

[02:07:40] they just do some Lion King nonsense yeah I didn't like it in Lion King

[02:07:45] yeah and goodness would have been better I actually disagree because I hated the

[02:07:51] Lion King you couldn't see well they have a motion yeah they didn't have any

[02:07:54] emotions and in this at least you could see what the people are trying to get

[02:07:58] across fair you know okay Lion King plus some emotions because that is what I

[02:08:04] obviously again I'm just picturing Jennifer Hudson's amazing face

[02:08:08] oh the passion yeah I love she was amazing and Taylor Swift I thought was one of the

[02:08:16] few saving graces of it her scene was I thought was good but I could be wrong

[02:08:20] could be alone there I thought she was one of the only ones that actually had

[02:08:24] a decent voice like I think she's a good voice she's a fine voice it sounds good

[02:08:28] Jennifer Hudson no oh no but by me and in terms of Rulo has a good voice yeah

[02:08:33] but I thought she was kind of like a moment of energy I thought and kind of yeah that I

[02:08:39] would agree with relative stability in the movie where she definitely brings energy to the table

[02:08:43] does she bring talent as far as acting no she's Taylor Swift yeah that that she's a good voice

[02:08:50] yeah this is a hot take I've actually been liking Taylor Swift lately not her music

[02:08:54] per se because I just don't really like it except for a couple songs like the Jack Antonoff

[02:08:58] produced which makes sense why I like them of course like that's a big part of you know but yeah

[02:09:04] she's been kind of cool sorry everyone hey it's all the complete opposite I've never liked her

[02:09:10] big hate Taylor Swift I think she's up her own so far like she she wrote the new song and she was

[02:09:16] like well we couldn't get T.S. Eliot but we got T.S like so self obsessed and conceited

[02:09:23] I cannot yeah and like I don't know if you know about her like streaming music stuff and like

[02:09:29] she like will go after fans yeah I do know about really yeah she's big hate also also her song was

[02:09:37] supposed to be a duet between two cats my friend Kim played one of them in the Broadway version

[02:09:43] so I'm very invested they made it a solo for Taylor because I can guarantee in the meetings

[02:09:49] she was like I'm not gonna do a duet I want a solo I guarantee I could see her doing that yeah and

[02:09:56] like even her backup dancers were like little extra Taylor Swift's like it was so I thought that one

[02:10:02] with the character now I mean it did but like in the musical she's not evil either she's

[02:10:09] a completely different character yeah so I don't know all the changes that they make

[02:10:14] I've seen people be like oh I liked this and then me and like other people that are invested

[02:10:19] in the original were like big hate no thank you because it's so different from what and you're very

[02:10:24] um oh you're not a um how do I say what's like you're not um ignorantly supportive yeah just

[02:10:33] because it's like an original yeah you're open to yeah I'm completely open to changes like I

[02:10:38] really I liked the new song that they put in for the the main cat Victoria because good yeah

[02:10:44] in the musical I liked the performance I feel like the I feel like the words were really like

[02:10:52] okay whatever it's too modern I feel like it didn't fit in with the rest of the

[02:10:56] even though I hate Andrew Ludwebber it should have been him yeah because it didn't fit with

[02:11:01] the rest of the Chloe are you becoming a swifty no really sure sounds like it might be no I just

[02:11:09] no not I'm saying that's that's not a bad thing I'm not I've just been having it's true the last

[02:11:14] couple months I've just been like having it wash over me that like oh yeah she doesn't seem that bad

[02:11:19] oh yeah I kind of like her sometimes should we uh make me do nobody made you do anything should

[02:11:24] we uh doing it yourself should we review her on film boats yeah all right he means music buds

[02:11:29] yeah I got that I told you a while ago we should because it draw all the views

[02:11:34] all right let's do it let's do it and you made us do uh that lady no one's heard of

[02:11:39] oh bb rexa yeah he's heard of her I know who that is that doesn't yeah you're not really an

[02:11:45] online person so you're not like involved but oh the people know who bb rexa yeah she's very popular

[02:11:50] online whoops sorry yeah um her music's not good I think her voice is good yeah but the music

[02:11:58] is very bad we listen to the whole check out music buds you listen to the whole 28 songs it's a long

[02:12:06] 28 songs not really for me there's only like 12 there's no way there's no way it was long I don't know

[02:12:13] it was like 18 songs I forget but but no we can do Taylor don't miss me with that don't

[02:12:21] don't don't guys I'm not I'm not invested no no I'm not saying you are I'm not saying you are I'm just

[02:12:28] saying I'm not saying you are either I just think it's interesting I just think you strike me as the

[02:12:34] person that would like vehemently despise her so I really really strongly dislike her for a very long

[02:12:39] time because I thought she was super annoying and maybe just because she seemed a little better lately

[02:12:44] I don't know I don't stay up to date with her really so I don't know I do because I dislike

[02:12:49] her and I want to like keep disliking her so I like I stay up to date what did you think about

[02:12:54] her speech no bueno no I don't know at least she started being a relatively uh socially I think

[02:13:03] the only decent thing is that she's like very outspoken about like music creators rights

[02:13:09] like to their own material even though she uses that to like you know try to make more money but

[02:13:15] okay you know at least she cares about like IP protection and stuff like that and not letting

[02:13:20] your producers take advantage of you that I can get behind and she sued that dude for a dollar

[02:13:25] yeah that was cool I'm dramatic yeah well he was all up on her it's not it ain't nice

[02:13:32] yeah well anyways let me just say one thing to bring us all back together please please do if

[02:13:38] I stan anyone in that arena I very much like ariana grande see okay I saw it with my breath no I love

[02:13:48] our okay I love I really like ariana okay I saw it with my brother and when we were leaving because he

[02:13:54] he I brought him with me to see the musical on Broadway he was like oh wasn't Taylor song

[02:14:00] a duet originally and it was like yeah and he was like it should have been ariana and

[02:14:03] Taylor singing it together and I was like uh I could have got behind that if they brought ariana

[02:14:08] grande in as the character that they deleted so that Taylor would have a solo oh that'd be good yeah

[02:14:15] so just to be clear a little ponytail just be clear I'm very I much prefer ariana grande yeah

[02:14:21] good don't worry good and I like re re better as well good my faith is restored and obviously

[02:14:29] Beyonce is still my queen yeah of course but ariana grande big fan well I don't listen to any of

[02:14:35] their music really but ariana grande had a beautiful voice she does so listen to that sometimes I do

[02:14:40] listen to Beyonce's voice her impressions are so good yeah okay I'm sorry go ahead it's fine uh

[02:14:47] now I I did not think this going in I will say if I had the choice of what to rewatch

[02:14:52] I would rewatch cats over star wars me too it's so weird and it's not great in my opinion

[02:14:58] but it's I honestly remember more from cats than I do star wars there you go I would rather watch

[02:15:06] the cat in the hat with oh my god no that's at the bottom there with Mike Myers oh I liked that

[02:15:13] movie I didn't even finish it as a child how long has it been since you've seen it it's really

[02:15:17] like oh yeah let's all right let's spend a couple feet let's have a rewatch maybe let's do a live

[02:15:21] commentary for film buds and see what see what happens can we please launch that together

[02:15:26] at the time I really like it my grandma took me to see it at the movie theater but I had like

[02:15:30] a fever at the time so like I had to like we had to leave early because I wasn't feeling well and

[02:15:35] she was like oh your forehead's really hot oh yeah so I don't think I ever saw the ending but oh it's

[02:15:41] a plus I can't remember it let's watch it yeah double feature let's watch that one in the

[02:15:46] Grinch he looks more like a cat than they do yeah well it's because they did the little noses

[02:15:52] it's all you need isn't it they didn't do all the baking stuff just a little more practical effects

[02:15:57] and that's all you gotta do yeah go to college party see all the see all the white girls it's all

[02:16:03] you need yeah yeah but I really and again I know it's how the play is but I really could not

[02:16:10] I wanted so badly to just learn about the characters like I would have been fine if

[02:16:15] it was just I also the cat world and no singing or a little bit of singing

[02:16:20] interesting honestly spoken word version of TS Eliot's like oh I mean like you know it's not

[02:16:27] exactly the same thing but like because it's it this is a book but like with Les Mis there's like

[02:16:32] you know epic moments of song yeah and then there's quiet dialogue driven moments so you get that

[02:16:39] both a theatrical feel as well as the senate cinematic feel exactly and half that's all I

[02:16:46] I don't even know the way that go the melody I dreamed a dream in time gone by

[02:16:53] I'm sorry I'm team memories all the way oh yeah me too it's it's I used to have a little music box

[02:16:58] to play it did you yeah so cute yeah bear got a for me for some reason it was like a juke box

[02:17:03] shade god knows but I really like that I said this song is this song is popping and he was like

[02:17:10] it was from a weird musical about cats and I said well that's the song slaps yeah it's so good yeah

[02:17:19] but you lose that can we keep memories in your version please yeah no but I'm not saying strip

[02:17:26] the songs out of it completely I'm just saying like I would have loved if there were just quiet

[02:17:30] take out rebel wilson please if there were just quiet scenes between characters and you got to learn

[02:17:36] about this odd world because that's what I was like I'll say you're like most looking forward

[02:17:41] secretly I was wanting to love this movie yeah I saw the trailer I was like this looks so weird

[02:17:46] and are you loving underdog this is like a king Arthur situation I don't know hey still could be

[02:17:51] it could be this could be a four next year I don't know yeah it's true but yeah it's so

[02:17:58] bombastic and again I think a lot of that is due to Tom Hooper's yeah style of editing yeah it's like

[02:18:05] I don't know where I am and I want so badly to yeah you want to you know who I wish did it who is that

[02:18:11] this might be a hot take Tim Burton no Baz lerman that I would okay I'll be curious about that no

[02:18:21] be better they don't like it no I'm I'm interested actually John Waters that is how it needs to be

[02:18:31] okay good John Waters in here oh my god that would be good actually um okay so for theater buds

[02:18:39] sometime we should watch the DVD of the Broadway version oh yeah although you might not like it

[02:18:46] still because they literally they added maybe five minutes worth of dialogue to the movie well for

[02:18:52] for a theater play it's more I it's more I mean it's really all about singing and dancing which is

[02:18:58] fun about like story it's just sort of cats singing about who they are yeah a big part of why I

[02:19:04] didn't like it was the look so like yeah I really didn't like yeah yeah and also even like you said

[02:19:10] that sets were I was shocked yeah when this was they're like legit sets that is shocking because of

[02:19:17] how they looked yeah I don't understand is it just me no no it looks weird it's bizarro because

[02:19:23] like I think it's because again like they were CGI'd in right so it's like the opposite of like

[02:19:31] you know the Alice in Wonderland thing where it's like real actors and costumes but no set

[02:19:38] it's like all set and no actors yeah they have to like smudgerman yeah they look like they're like

[02:19:47] like the one thing like I think within the first five minutes it looked weird and then I sort of

[02:19:52] like got acclimated the one thing that stuck out to me is like oh that's very bad is the shadows

[02:19:58] they never looked like they were touching the ground they looked like they were just sort of

[02:20:01] hovering huh interesting the the shading but with that yeah yeah yeah the that's why you should have

[02:20:10] seen it with me yeah the design of the world I liked like I like the the look of the city or

[02:20:16] the town whatever it was and so I just wish there was more like them exploring it in a way to wear

[02:20:23] it was the same street corner just from different angles yeah like I just would have loved to have

[02:20:27] seen more of that yeah I wish I wish there was some more so that was frustrating and then and then again

[02:20:33] all of that could have been forgiven if I could hear them what they were saying that's yeah so I

[02:20:40] don't know why maybe it's just because they're so attached to it and heard it over and over and over

[02:20:45] that they weren't noticing that they didn't they also knew all the words they probably did

[02:20:49] like me so you're like oh yeah this is fine yeah yeah they needed to get someone outside to come

[02:20:54] in and be like oh um I don't know what they're saying yeah because then again it's it's just fast

[02:20:59] cutting um you can't hear what they're saying it's just a mess yeah it's a mess it's a mess Chloe

[02:21:05] I saw the trailer this is kind of on topic kind of off topic it made me think because somebody told

[02:21:10] me that they couldn't understand there was the Hamilton it might have been Padre he was like

[02:21:15] trying to listen to Hamilton said I didn't know what they were saying I might have been him

[02:21:18] might not have been doesn't it's very fast paced yeah anyway it doesn't matter it was somebody

[02:21:22] like that somebody along those lines uh anyway but it reminded me of I just saw before Little

[02:21:29] Women's in the Heights trailer it looks so good in the Heights in the but also I'm teaming the

[02:21:35] Heights over here it's good right how are you feeling about that my friends uh I'm sure we'll

[02:21:39] see really all my friends love in the Heights oh you don't love it no I do oh we all do

[02:21:45] oh okay we all love in the height okay good I thought somebody didn't love in the Heights

[02:21:49] and I was like who Henry doesn't know what it is no opinion okay well not yet you need to see the

[02:21:56] movie I bet it's gonna be like it yeah you will now how are we feeling about I mean there's no

[02:22:01] trailer yet but the west side story remake Spielberg no thank you unnecessary there's already

[02:22:11] okay who's the lead character you think I'm gonna watch that piece of crap

[02:22:15] you're not an El Gordian I hate him I know I wish that was not the cast he can't sing either

[02:22:22] he has a whole singing career it's terrible I don't like him yeah uh and oh but there's

[02:22:30] a tea backstage with that one you know he broke up he's way too pda I'm not two I'm not judging anyone

[02:22:36] he's extremely pda on Instagram and everything with his girlfriend like every single day all this

[02:22:43] mission yeah that drives me crazy honestly it was I mean not with him specifically yeah but it was a

[02:22:50] again if you're happy and you're not hurting anybody I'm happy but it was like noticeably like

[02:22:55] like all the long I don't need to see that yeah you couldn't see her tushy unless his hands were

[02:23:01] on it hmm okay yeah it was like the the bound to music video yes look connie reference okay that's

[02:23:10] why you didn't get it sure anyway I like I mean not that specifically but anyways sorry cool he

[02:23:18] releases album on Chris I know I know I listen to it thinks he's Jesus you listen to it yeah I hate it

[02:23:24] anyway I wasn't crazy by the other I just hate him I also hate him yeah yeah anyway we're in agreement

[02:23:30] there yeah yeah even more so because he was so talented and then I'm telling you those first

[02:23:35] and now he's a trump supporter those first uh first a few albums are great yeah they are he sucked them but

[02:23:41] he couldn't know so much because they were really good okay anyway I'm so sorry yeah what were we talking

[02:23:46] about I have no idea um uh oh uh and so he behind well side story so he was it was intent right

[02:23:53] and for years and years and blah blah blah he uh very implied in a very implied it was messy

[02:24:01] very messy he's now with Maria hmm so there's the tea interesting so I guess they'll at least have

[02:24:09] good chemistry hopefully we'll see messy I mean if we've seen his chemistry before on social media

[02:24:16] you know like it's gonna be like in a movie yeah I don't know that's just a little that's I probably

[02:24:22] shouldn't even mention yeah it's probably like a sin or something okay to talk about that kind of

[02:24:26] good thing I'm a Jew happy Hanukkah everyone right but um yeah that's messy I just hate him anyway so

[02:24:34] you know whatever anyways um okay nobody wants a new west side story okay no and if they do they can

[02:24:40] shove it yeah also like maybe it's a sin for me to say this but I don't like west side story

[02:24:45] oh I know maybe either stupid I can't it's so boring yeah the only thing I like is Rita Moreno

[02:24:52] to watch for her and that's it and that's it yeah give me you really want to do it make a movie about

[02:24:57] that character mm-hmm about from her point of view there you go these these idiots yeah there you go

[02:25:06] well uh for cats so oh one thing that I mentioned a little earlier the way that certain characters

[02:25:13] are portrayed where they have clothes on and then other times they're not so each is I didn't

[02:25:18] understand but then there are other characters there are other cats that are like not wearing

[02:25:23] our dress and so yeah yeah and so just naturally you're like okay so is he meant to be naked in that

[02:25:30] world he looked more naked than the other cats yeah it was like so off I don't get he did okay my

[02:25:37] also Jason Derulo's penis he was like really upset that they CGI'd it out well it was after

[02:25:41] that big thing on instagram took down his picture do you know about this yeah they took down a

[02:25:47] picture of him in a bathing suit despite being uh closed um because they still found it to be explicit

[02:25:55] due to his uh package right like physical construction yes yes so it was coming off of that

[02:26:08] the whole thing with the yeah anyway all of them talk to uh prince what's his name am I right

[02:26:16] oh I love him I love him but not too much prince Rob Stark yeah he can talk to Rob Stark in

[02:26:23] Cinderella oh what's his name what's wrong with me oh his name in the movie is kit but he's not Kit

[02:26:31] Harrington Scottish man I know everything about I know George about him he dated Olivia no not Olivia

[02:26:40] oh my god he dated Jenna Coleman for a long time not day anymore he was in the bodyguard this is

[02:26:46] horrible he was a caution rocket man as the worst Richard mad Richard there you go oh god but yeah

[02:26:55] but that was very weird they like they you know did some drag queen moves on him and also just

[02:27:00] wouldn't shoot below the waist for a lot of it there's a lot to that it said it made him he said

[02:27:07] it made him like physically out move over Lily James wow the real controversy is they just

[02:27:14] were all moves well um she was gonna say something uh I don't know but no oh the uh the humor was

[02:27:28] terrible yeah like the like James everything with James Corden he was my least favorite thing about the

[02:27:34] whole movie cut that character yeah I don't like I've never wanted him to be in the stage version

[02:27:39] either he just gets on my nerves never been good never has been he used no no no not no not well

[02:27:44] no the character yeah sorry I love James Corden and Into the Woods I use Emily blond's husband

[02:27:51] yeah sad I used to really love James Corden but before he came over here he was on a show called

[02:27:57] League of their Own with Jack Whitehall my favorite I also had a front row ticket and meet and greet to

[02:28:03] see Jack Whitehall by the way very sad oh anyway uh what was I talking about I just got James Corden

[02:28:11] you liked him when he was on the other side of the pond he did Gavron Stacy the best thing ever

[02:28:15] love Gavron Stacy something ever but I love it like he used to be real and he's just gotten

[02:28:20] he's he's like my Taylor Swift now he's gotten too big for his britches and that's very annoying

[02:28:28] I'm very sad about it Henry I'm sure I'm sorry you know

[02:28:34] that's it I agree it's all I was gonna say it's not really sad James I miss I miss the old

[02:28:39] dude yeah oh well I did think that the the lead Francesca Hayward was good yeah I thought she was

[02:28:47] good both uh performance and her the dancing was not bad yeah no I really liked her because

[02:28:55] actually in the stage version she's not like nobody knows who she is at all like there was a

[02:29:01] joke between the cast members they'd be like who is Victoria who is she we don't know oh because

[02:29:07] she just pops up she's just a ballerina she like doesn't even have lines but but she's also like

[02:29:13] the poster child for cats like she's the cat but she doesn't have a song or anything like that so

[02:29:19] I'm glad that they like yeah elevated used her uh seeing this world for the first time as like a

[02:29:26] vehicle for us to see it along with her yeah it also sort of makes sense why they're singing about who

[02:29:31] they are because they're introducing themselves to her rather than just right singing about who they

[02:29:36] are right and I did yeah I like structurally and this doesn't really have to be for say but

[02:29:42] I like that she wasn't the one yeah in the death balloon yeah yeah no and then the whole death eater

[02:29:50] thing with eat yourself but they're so unnecessary vanishing makes no sense to me how do you know

[02:29:56] what death eater is Henry no when no when they know when you know when they poof that's when they

[02:29:59] smoke you know oh that's yeah yeah you know how they fly around and they're just all smoke sorry I

[02:30:05] get it and she's in the ball yeah I've seen that bridge yeah yeah I took a picture with it I would

[02:30:12] like to see that picture with it was not very I mean stupid thing to do but here we are all right

[02:30:20] we're checking afford to go to England you will help me hey get him in touch with uh anything's

[02:30:29] a good start okay next time she comes into the coffee shop say can I give you an apprentice

[02:30:35] oh yeah did you I wanted to tell you this before but I was hesitant because of

[02:30:43] the excellent movies she's been involved with that we've crashed right and I'm worried that'll come up

[02:30:51] so uh we must keep that part of secret so well it's already kind of out of the bag it's very

[02:30:56] yeah it was never in the bag so on the last show when we were reviewing six underground

[02:31:02] I heard a woman maybe in her maybe like mid 50s or so talking to one of my co-workers about it at

[02:31:08] the coffee shop yeah and I asked her about the next day she's been Michael Bay's lead costume

[02:31:16] designer for over 20 years wow she designed that movie and she's been designing pretty much every

[02:31:22] Michael Bay film yeah every film sends bad boys too really yeah oh my gosh that's amazing

[02:31:29] yeah so I will please please do thank you he will he really will unless he forgets but don't forget no

[02:31:35] no and I will yeah wow so it's a weird entree but yeah who you know entree yeah anyways uh all right

[02:31:45] I'm really excited for you to see the costumes and little women oh yeah anything else about cats

[02:31:56] it's like it's no nothing else okay oh well it sounds like there's something else say it

[02:32:06] I'd rather not say it Chloe it's like I need to hear I don't want you to hear the problem I'm gonna

[02:32:12] imagine like the worst possible thing and it's gonna like keep me up at night so I need to hear

[02:32:17] oh I see yeah okay well imagine it really quickly so then when I say what I'm gonna say

[02:32:21] you'll be like oh that's nothing it's like the like art house little sibling of six underground to me

[02:32:32] there's also not art house which is really confusing it's like it's like the popular person who decides

[02:32:38] to wear like glasses but they don't even bother to have if they're like lensless lensless so he's

[02:32:44] like uh he's like Chris Hemsworth and uh Ghostbusters will you stop referencing that stupid

[02:32:49] movie it's a perfect reference terrible reference thank you you like Ghostbusters shoot I love I love

[02:32:56] that one I've never cared for the original except for really sorry I love Sigourney I hate how people

[02:33:04] are like oh my god they're girl ghostbusters me me me I make them boys I obviously hate that as well

[02:33:09] yeah that said yeah and I love all of those comedians so much Leslie Jones true feminism

[02:33:17] and equality is judging everyone on equal playing field and I thought the movie was terrible it was

[02:33:23] also like very anti-men which I don't like yeah I could see that but I think that's I mean how is

[02:33:28] that helpful that's not helpful at all that's divisive that's not great it's not a good message

[02:33:33] regardless you know do one to others I want to rewatch it like with that view in mind because

[02:33:38] that's bad that's not what I picked up at all and I'm usually very in tune with like you know

[02:33:43] so they're either all the all the boys all the men's are either idiots yeah and pretty or whatever

[02:33:49] which I get that was a joke one of those is okay because it's a joke it's a play on the

[02:33:53] secretary in the first one I get it yeah right because I mean also think about how women are

[02:33:57] treated in the original movies they're two female characters Sigourney six Sigourney and yeah but

[02:34:02] also like she's so like demure until the demon thing takes over her body and then she's allowed

[02:34:07] to be you know a person right but so there's that that's fine okay but also I'm not gonna you know it's

[02:34:14] not yeah just cuz it's just as bad or not it doesn't make it okay yeah especially in this day and age

[02:34:21] and it was more it was marketed as a feminine well because it kind of had some people said it was

[02:34:26] yeah well everybody said it was and they did too and interviews until they did they

[02:34:31] yes talked about being female it's empowering everything whatever whatever which I get that

[02:34:35] you kind of can't avoid that when you create a movie like that sure but then also the other men

[02:34:42] all were like bad like all the men were either stupid or like evil yeah the way they took I've

[02:34:48] never gotten over this time it was scarred me for life no worries the way they took down

[02:34:53] the massive bad ghost guy was they they like punched him in the cry I do not remember

[02:35:03] that I very much remember so like there was a lot of that I was like classic there's just

[02:35:08] lots of jokes about like no I can't remember the specific amount yeah but there were jokes about

[02:35:13] like men being you know men well I mean men yeah but like that's fair yeah but like come on

[02:35:23] I'm not great yeah a lot of true a lot of I don't know

[02:35:32] there's one he's a good one we got two here yeah yeah I know lots of good ones how many others

[02:35:39] in the world you want to call me out like that I know a lot I'm kidding I'm kidding I'm kidding

[02:35:45] I know no no not like that yeah I have a lot of good male this is getting weird Jordan Jordan's

[02:35:51] all my best friends very good guy you've met him I think so maybe he was in my Halloween party

[02:35:59] okay I don't remember a lot about that time it was a rough time for another black Irish

[02:36:04] fair yeah I know a lot I'm I was I was kidding I know Henry wasn't kidding no

[02:36:10] will you I'm kidding well I mean I agree there are a lot of terrible men out there I know you

[02:36:15] gotta be careful all right I know safety first please I know I would say in earnest I know just as many

[02:36:24] great at least personally great men as I do women I think generally it's true that bad men

[02:36:34] tend to do more damage than bad women yeah one hundo agree but I know lots of great dudes

[02:36:44] cool good for you all right good for you oh my god all right well all right well out of five

[02:36:52] stars for cats Chloe okay should I tell you what comes to mind yeah what's what's your this is very

[02:37:00] specific as it always is in a good way okay no yeah thank you okay so my friend whose birthday I

[02:37:09] think it's my friend Jessica's birthday and like seventh grade no Samantha Samantha's birthday

[02:37:15] okay seventh grade okay no she wouldn't have been my friend seventh grade she was like popular

[02:37:21] then must have been fifth grade or sixth grade okay doesn't matter anyway

[02:37:25] okay we went out to the patio for her cake yeah right and you know my family number one

[02:37:37] well you know my family yeah y'all know the kind of cake I was given for my birthday okay that's the

[02:37:41] point I'm yeah that's the point I make you okay fruit arranged in the shape of a cake

[02:37:47] and so I walked outside and there was a huge like bigger than a sheet cake

[02:37:55] like a layered sheet cake and on top of it this is not the rating yet this is the setup for the

[02:38:00] rating all right the on top of it's a happy birthday Samantha whatever and then it had huge just the

[02:38:07] most primary color colors you've ever seen just just balls I guess of icing that were supposed

[02:38:15] to be balloons is it called icing no what's that frosting frost no I wish I love fondant yeah me too

[02:38:23] yeah frosting just huge balls of the most it's not a compromise say the most primary color you know

[02:38:32] what I mean yeah just red blue yellow on so basic full size just huge and they just like kind of

[02:38:38] scared me like is that weird they kind of gave me like now it the the memory is associated with

[02:38:46] Pennywise for some reason yeah how'd I miss that anyway but then other girls just started

[02:38:53] like scooping them up and eating them all right in the least in it was like the antithesis of that

[02:39:00] seeing everyone loves and hook it like elicited a fight or flight response in you

[02:39:08] huh not like the urge to join in you were like repulse I was not even repulse I was just like

[02:39:15] I was like just maybe like when gal Gadot left her little island did you know that it's actually

[02:39:23] pronounced gal Gadot I'm a terrible Jew yeah I looked it up last night because for one of my

[02:39:28] movie moments I wanted to talk about her and I was like I don't want to mispronounce her name

[02:39:32] how do you pronounce I should definitely know that yeah but no I mean it's not bad that you don't

[02:39:38] but I've been fooled I was fooled I was fooled too yeah in any case so those those balls of frosting

[02:39:50] all right in the hands interesting what about you Henry it's a four out of five from me

[02:39:57] because they made choices that I didn't agree with but overall I really enjoyed it all right it was a

[02:40:03] fun time the ears moved far more than my cat's ears move in much more dramatic like owls owl necks

[02:40:10] those ears moved you need to see amber's ears though because hers like they will move like always

[02:40:17] though yeah like if I if I touch her her ears will like yeah but they don't go back and forth

[02:40:23] like freaking lighthouse I really need to see it was very distracting yeah it sounds like it was

[02:40:29] distracting for clobo but oh get it hmm I do also that made me think of if there was one thing I could

[02:40:37] well there's probably if there's one thing I could change about little women without changing like

[02:40:41] the actual story because that's not my place yeah Robert Pattinson would be cast as one of the

[02:40:47] dudes instead of the dude for sure yeah instead of timitay well it's it's I'm between a two and a two and

[02:40:58] a half interesting I thought it was gonna be lower go 2.25 2 and a half 2 and a half it's on there with

[02:41:10] Star Wars I was boy he is so all right well let's move on that was shocking yeah that was

[02:41:19] well I look I appreciate its weirdness it's not a movie I'm gonna go back to that often

[02:41:26] but it's so weird that I had to enjoy it a little beyond that though it's not just the story the thing

[02:41:33] well we're saying opposite things though so I'm sorry the things that like like I said the opposite

[02:41:40] kind of when it's not even the weirdness exactly it's like literally they're read they're like

[02:41:45] they've released it and they're still going back into like fixed stuff right like technical stuff

[02:41:49] and it's like yeah if you're gonna really do something so weird you better know what you do

[02:41:55] fix it really yeah yeah there was another I still like it you can't convince me otherwise

[02:41:59] there was it replaced oh that was very cloying about you there was it was supposed to be a

[02:42:06] different movie oh wicked was supposed to be yeah this was supposed to be wicked although you

[02:42:11] know what okay if you think I'm attached to cats I'm even more attached to wicked so I'm so glad that

[02:42:17] it's not out right now yeah because they've been trying to make it for over a decade and I'm glad

[02:42:22] they're taking their time rather than ruining it are they making it yeah oh yeah they are all right

[02:42:29] well that was memorable I had to I saw it on Broadway the first week it opened because you know

[02:42:35] since it's actually so jealous again third row it was actually very scary because there were

[02:42:40] these really mean ladies behind me who are for some reason taunting me what that the dragon there's

[02:42:46] like a big mechanical dragon coming out of the it's like the proscenium arch yeah thank you it's

[02:42:50] like a big mechanical and it was like right over my head because like I said we're like yeah and

[02:42:55] they were like oh hope it doesn't fall on you and stuff I was like Jesus wow what horrible people

[02:43:01] so that was a lot gosh but um it was very memorable my mother had to explain to me the whole

[02:43:07] deal with the adultery and the goat and I was like how does okay there are a lot of mature

[02:43:12] things in there yeah so and the green juice I did what is that what is that juice

[02:43:18] yeah all right well let's let's get on inappropriate juices the theme of this episode

[02:43:23] yeah inappropriate juice should we touch on that tenet trailer Christopher Nolan

[02:43:27] nah there was nothing in it Henry yeah he's accepted fair it made me but now it comes out

[02:43:35] in in the summer every real it makes me but you know what comes out in February but I think

[02:43:41] I just don't want to give anything away and Robert Pattinson's hair looks so good oh yeah so

[02:43:46] oh Emma's gonna be it's gonna be so good oh my goodness I can't wait hey it's gonna be so good

[02:43:53] yeah I tried to watch throw bread she's in that I believe there's two of them that look

[02:43:58] a lot like but no it's definitely her yeah I got into about two seconds and I said I absolutely

[02:44:03] cannot do this right you know me can't do that yeah I didn't I didn't love it

[02:44:10] there but yeah but Anton Yelkins that's why I wanted to watch it but I couldn't deal with you know

[02:44:16] psychos yeah cool uh cool well let's get let's get on to uh the the best movie moments of the 2010s

[02:44:28] so again the film buds podcast are we gonna have another show before 2010 is over the 2010s are over

[02:44:36] I mean we said we would do it on the next show but it's because because we started we started it

[02:44:42] on the last show but Chloe if you want but now because Henry here has okay you have your list

[02:44:47] yeah okay Henry I'll go next okay okay so now I can I can share some with you because I even thought

[02:44:54] of you and I was picking some of these and so now the the film buds podcast at gmail.com is where

[02:44:59] you can reach us at also on Twitter and Facebook like one of mine's for sure from little women so

[02:45:03] okay which I still haven't seen yet I really want to so I know but like I wanted to go on Christmas

[02:45:11] and stuff happened and I couldn't go and I was really upset because like that was my plan

[02:45:16] oh really for Christmas I was gonna go see it actually we saw a movie on Christmas Eve dang

[02:45:20] I wasn't planning on going because uh

[02:45:26] yeah I'm not doing anything just one because usually it don't yeah but then I the the Anderson

[02:45:33] sisters did remind me that we tend to see a movie and then it was mentioned there was big

[02:45:41] big uh fight between the Anderson's oh really one of them want to see it so bad

[02:45:47] Maggie because she's just like me Mary couldn't give a crap because she's a real Amy yeah she is

[02:45:55] except way better but yeah totally on the surface she's a real Amy

[02:46:01] but then I literally shrieked yeah because I didn't realize I've never I've never with joy

[02:46:09] exclaimed at my highest possible volume I scared my cats away okay I screamed

[02:46:18] it's Christmas because I just it just you know I'm a mess right it just did not register with me

[02:46:22] that it was the 20th it was the day yeah of my movie and so when that happened yeah it was

[02:46:29] it shaped up to be the best day in my life oh wow even though I didn't really the movie gave

[02:46:34] me all kinds of mixed feelings right but I also got we snuck in so much food and you know how that

[02:46:41] gives me my I need my kicks okay because you need your quest bars right I don't eat

[02:46:47] quest bars of snacks meals and I only eat them microwaved oh but but yeah well it's not my fault

[02:46:55] like I said I can't eat the food they offer at the movie theater yeah can Mary and Mary and Meg

[02:47:03] however solidarity with my uh my weak weak body we had to sneak it as much as possible I'm not

[02:47:12] blaming you we snuck in tea for god's sake damn like brewed tea we brewed it in the theater

[02:47:21] where did you get the hot water is incredible thermos is

[02:47:24] okay uh movie moment number one Cinderella orders this what is it one oh it's it's not in an order

[02:47:36] okay it's just like the best hits that means this one is your favorite it is it is my favorite

[02:47:42] Cinderella from 2015 and it's my my movie moment is the entire movie and everything

[02:47:48] everything involved it is my favorite movie of the decade period wow the score the costumes

[02:47:53] the cast everything about it the cinnamon topography the directorial choices that were made it is

[02:47:59] wow perfect and I'm going to share that one with Chloe that can be also a thank you pick of yours

[02:48:06] Maleficent period but that's odd take no but um Angelina Jolie like what she was so into it

[02:48:14] like in every moment yeah and like seeing her being into it made me into it and I feel like

[02:48:21] the movie moment is the whole wings that's how you know it's a good moment is so strong

[02:48:32] like when she loses them and then at the very end when she gets them back like that whole

[02:48:36] you know wings clipped metaphorical stuff I agree so good um Black Swan that came out in 2010

[02:48:45] which like I thought it came out even longer ago yeah but that was like one of the first dramatic

[02:48:51] films I watched that with my dad I watched it with my mom so it's like it was one of the first like

[02:48:58] more adult films that I watched um that I was actually into because up until then I'd been

[02:49:04] pretty bored by more mature stuff and I just wanted to watch action and yeah of course

[02:49:09] that's all that matters it is um it totally is but yeah so I would say this in that movie the scene

[02:49:16] is when she's spinning yes and the wings the feathers that's the one that I had

[02:49:22] no not when she's like pulling them out but like when she's like she's like she's spinning

[02:49:27] and when she's spinning and then she has wings and she like flaps her wings okay well I guess my

[02:49:30] moment when she's pulling them out because that's the grossest thing I've ever seen in life

[02:49:33] that's a good that's very uncut and then the hangnail with her finger that that's what gets me

[02:49:38] that's the part like I have I can't watch oh my god um okay crimson peak

[02:49:45] there's nothing else I can say about that but I'm uh mea was a kowska yeah she did all of those

[02:49:50] action scenes in a corset Emma Watson um I love Emma Watson I really do I'm just like

[02:49:58] beauty in the beast you know how it's important to me and so like I got it it's it's almost a

[02:50:02] joke at this point I like point out corsetry but uh mea was a kowska the colors the the color design

[02:50:12] for the whole film like the edit in that house was built yeah this sets the costumes I would say that

[02:50:16] the Jessica just ain't on the piano yeah oh that's a good yeah a subtle one but a real one I like the

[02:50:23] the outside with the snow at the very beginning and then at the very end with the red yeah it's

[02:50:28] it's the white with the reds mud and the white snow and the mmm that's a good stuff I like anything

[02:50:34] with Charlie Hunnam yeah I think he's amazing yeah underrated Papillon I love Papillon okay um next

[02:50:44] okay Chloe no I'm sorry I'm joking um Anna Karenina loved that one yeah Kira Knightley so good

[02:50:55] she sort of she slightly gets on my nerves but I also love her it was just so cool set in a theater

[02:51:01] like the set design was yeah so big brain like yes it was big brain that's exactly the way to put it

[02:51:08] like it was beautiful oh I agree yeah I like it way more than the story did yeah me too

[02:51:13] did has Joe Wright done something since darkest hour or no I wish I don't think so no okay I think

[02:51:21] also the costumes from Anna Karenina oh yeah and guess what Jacqueline Durand designed them

[02:51:28] and she also designed Emma Watson's terrible ball gown and Beauty and the Beast wow see that's a thing

[02:51:33] corset or no corset that was not pretty dress it wasn't your dress was very pretty yes it was

[02:51:38] beautiful yes thank you that one was horrid yeah it it looked like tablecloth that was not Emma

[02:51:45] Watson's fault yeah um I really enjoyed the the witch the witch um especially the last scene

[02:51:55] after like being catapulted with craziness for an hour plus yeah I like I like when the

[02:52:04] the boy is being lured into the into the house towards the middle with the woman with the hand

[02:52:10] yeah I love that good um and I just love when she floats away into the yeah the sky thing and

[02:52:16] that makes me really happy um I love when she just pure wets into oblivion I gotta tell the audience

[02:52:24] Henry's wearing his over the garden washer right now I am that's context for you it's my favorite

[02:52:28] cartoon ever do you even know what that is no didn't think so we have to watch it it's like

[02:52:34] two hours of your life it's basically a movie it's the most beautiful Elijah Wood is the main

[02:52:39] character so good it's a little scary it's not it's not it was on cartoon network excuse me

[02:52:48] everything scares me okay well you should watch we should all watch it together I'll be down sure

[02:52:54] okay um the Yama party the arrival any scene when Amy Adams is on screen is it arrival or the

[02:53:02] arrival arrival yes Amy Adams an icon she deserves all of the um the rallying behind Leo

[02:53:16] de Caprio to like get that award should have been going to Amy Adams because she has done more

[02:53:21] than he has in like half the amount of time wow she is so talented yeah she has the range she can

[02:53:29] sing she is so underrated no you people are writing her off but no no no we love Amy Adams

[02:53:37] I wouldn't I wouldn't come I don't think it's I wouldn't I love Amy Adams very much I think

[02:53:44] the fact that she didn't win anything for sharp objects is obscene yes however it was it was when

[02:53:50] we started talking about Leo you threw us for a loop there I think they both deserve so

[02:53:56] it's yeah hot take I've never liked no no I know you don't like the director but she

[02:54:02] yeah her performance in American hustle is so so great I didn't enjoy that movie but I enjoyed her

[02:54:10] it's so good yeah amazing anyways I don't remember the performance the whole movie is just oh yeah

[02:54:18] yeah I I remember it because I was working at the art museum like I think the year after it came

[02:54:24] out and they showed it outside and I had just finished like closing up the

[02:54:29] the main area and so I went outside and watched it like under the stars that's my I think that was

[02:54:33] like more of the experience that I was doing personal ones my personal favorite movie moment

[02:54:42] of my 2010 okay that makes sense sure is for sure watching with my sister on like a picnic

[02:54:49] blanket interstellar under the stars oh that's a good moment yeah that's a good moment yeah when I

[02:54:55] met the love of my life he didn't meet me but I saw you to me oh my word yeah okay um I have to

[02:55:07] thank the help for bringing us Octavia Spencer yeah catapulting her into liola davis I feel like too

[02:55:13] Viola Davis also just good casting yeah yeah also Emma stone she was in it yeah not as great but

[02:55:21] that's true we got Chastin and Viola and then we got and then we got uh what's her name that I just said

[02:55:30] and that no did I mess them up sorry we got Chastin in Octavia yeah then we got Viola Davis

[02:55:36] Viola sometimes she definitely overacts if you ask me yeah then we got Emma Stone yeah but um

[02:55:43] so yeah that was I'm so happy and also like instead of Emma Stone who honestly do I'm a

[02:55:49] so was originally cast as oldest sister oh yeah yeah yeah and I want to now that especially

[02:55:53] since I've seen it yeah because I'm really happy Emma Watson did a good job I'm I'm so excited to

[02:55:58] see her in this role especially because it's not something I would have picked her for ever

[02:56:04] yeah that's that makes me proud because I don't know yeah I want to see her do well

[02:56:11] grandchester can you deal Henry I think even Henry has a little crush on grandchester right

[02:56:19] no no I mean I don't watch the show very much what no my mom does you don't need to watch

[02:56:25] your mind no let me tell you who has a crush crush on is my mother everybody yeah I mean he's

[02:56:31] he's a fine-looking man but I would not say he's my kind he's just have a kind face he's not my

[02:56:38] crush I would say who is I don't know you think about it pal sorry Henry think about it and get back to us

[02:56:44] and maybe yeah no um it's probably you you like celebrities who look like you no I don't female ones

[02:56:51] yeah who um what's your name um Daenerys she doesn't look like me she same coloring

[02:57:00] yeah amyla clark you got long lashes yeah I don't see it yeah I don't know

[02:57:08] about that but me neither I just love it I'm just trying to fight sometimes you're just trying to pull

[02:57:14] evidence okay well here's one that I think Chloe can get behind army hammer in mirror mirror as the

[02:57:23] prince iconic shirtless for like 75% of the film oh is that why yeah yeah no but really I think

[02:57:30] a more of the the the whitest white teeth I've ever seen in my life and the hair I think they even

[02:57:35] have like a little like glisten that they edited in at one point to like he's he's perfect every

[02:57:40] least very stylized it is so stylized we're definitely coming from different angles

[02:57:44] like a go ishioka is the costume designer and this was her last film before she passed away

[02:57:50] and she's she's like my absolute favorite designer of all time and one of the costumes that she gave

[02:57:57] for lily collins is a swan yeah costume and it's her swan song so it oh that's like

[02:58:04] a really she like put that in there deliberately so it's it's very like special moment for me

[02:58:09] yeah I enjoyed that um wonder woman yes so good um but in particular the the no man's land

[02:58:20] yes very good like I remember getting chills I think the the movie itself wasn't perfect but I

[02:58:28] enjoyed it and I still think of it fondly I agree um let's see uh I still don't understand how I

[02:58:35] know I'm just stupid sometimes but I don't understand how Chris Pine is in the next one um

[02:58:41] neither do I mean either okay cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool how is he alive

[02:58:45] looks wrong the same page yeah I'm fine did they like freeze him um okay uh I really enjoyed

[02:58:51] into the spider-verse from last year the animation style because I'm so over like super highly

[02:58:57] rendered realistic 3d animated CGI lying king can die and so I was really happy that they went

[02:59:05] with like a really comic book style yeah he did die well his father did good good catch there well he

[02:59:10] wasn't kidding and I also really enjoyed um studio like us sort of rise um that happened over the decade

[02:59:22] they released like four films because coreline was in 2009 right before the decade started shoot

[02:59:28] I know I really wanted to include that one scene in there right but um

[02:59:33] Leica is doing so much that other studios aren't did it book of life no no just kidding yeah

[02:59:40] paranormal yes yes paranormal don't mention it or I'll slap you what are we not I wouldn't

[02:59:46] slap you go ahead Henry I wouldn't ask Casey Affleck who she doesn't like and sorry for the

[02:59:52] background chatter there's a we have a plumber here I love I know you do such a good movie actually

[02:59:59] I have that written down paranormal can they just read it's just a voice can we just pop somebody

[03:00:05] else in there why don't you do it and then we'll like edit your voice in amazing yeah you need to

[03:00:11] have a voice actor you have like a a good cartoon voice thank you yeah you're welcome

[03:00:17] like you should be a character voice actor you're welcome um woman in gold Helen mirror oh I never

[03:00:25] saw that really okay right it's it's a little slow but the the highs are really high yeah um well

[03:00:34] it's by the guy who did my week with Marilyn which I really like yeah and it has that sort of feel

[03:00:39] um and like as a person who Klimt is my favorite painter I love so good and they like recreate

[03:00:47] they're like a few scenes where the subject of the painting the woman in gold Adele Bloch Bauer

[03:00:51] they have her like in the gold dress oh like when she get your hands on that oh yeah I know

[03:00:58] I'm gonna make my own um so yeah that was really good um moonlight the scene where

[03:01:06] he's like you're the only man who's ever touched me that was like

[03:01:11] mm oh yeah a high point I have that like in particular like all caps yeah we talked about

[03:01:17] moonlight last week a little bit not fight yeah it's not a fight but I said the scene where

[03:01:23] he's being picked on it's like yeah at the middle teenage version and they're um bullying him on

[03:01:30] the street and yeah when they walk away he kind of like flexes because he and like he but he's so

[03:01:34] small that you know that's a good moment it's it's a that is a good moment um the whole movie is

[03:01:40] really poignant oh yeah I think um and not talked about enough it's no it deserves even more though

[03:01:48] because like I don't know I've seen a lot of people in like my own community like write it off

[03:01:54] and oh really yeah and it's like there are enough movies about white lgbt people like make more

[03:02:02] about people of other ethnicities and skin tones and backgrounds yeah you know socioeconomic yeah

[03:02:08] I was gonna say so you know they're all ways like middle class white boys and that that's it not

[03:02:14] probably by your name they're hella rich yeah but also that one's so problematic because

[03:02:21] it contributes into the like pedophilia like it's tough underage it's tough because they were not I

[03:02:27] know it's never they never you love no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no Henry can back me up on

[03:02:32] this what was it sorry I fade out by your name he's saying just because Timothy's in a movie does

[03:02:37] not mean I love it Henry knows that no I hate no no that's true I'm agreeing with you I hated

[03:02:44] no I know hot summer nights I know I'm agreeing with you bro

[03:02:51] but no no really but they should have a diss they should have mentioned the age and everything

[03:02:56] because because army ham was supposed his characters Oliver's a lot younger than army hammer but yeah

[03:03:01] I mean it's still not ideal but also set in the past I've had a long it's yeah I had a big fight

[03:03:06] with somebody not fight really cute you know there's a fight Chloe got excited you

[03:03:14] never make sense yeah it just bothers me because in this day and age like we don't need to be

[03:03:19] contributing to those stereotypes anymore and it's like there's so many harmful examples of like

[03:03:25] older men praying on younger men and it's it's done it needs to die um loving Vincent

[03:03:31] beautiful movie good mom yeah I think on my face I'm sorry yeah that just thinking about it

[03:03:37] emotions no I'm concerned I'm gonna have a seizure oh it's shock it hurt my head so well okay that

[03:03:44] was something I was gonna bring up I like appreciate the artistry but it's very um

[03:03:50] I guess not quite jittery but like it's pretty jittery yeah to me yeah I feel like they could

[03:03:56] have done a little more editing in the post production to make it more fluid and they cheated

[03:04:01] that well I shouldn't say cheated they used uh certain methodologies to make it smoother and

[03:04:07] faster in any case so the might as well just continue doing so yeah you know um I think um

[03:04:14] the also I thought was super boring yeah I mean you know the story yeah it's so boring it's

[03:04:19] it's a little slow yeah no we didn't see it together but we talked about it yes we saw it

[03:04:25] together so by myself rude what would I have possibly seen it with I don't know uh oh maybe my dad

[03:04:34] my dad's another great man if I am he's my grandpa was the dopest

[03:04:42] is that the one that invented the cardboard box that was my no that was my great great uncle okay

[03:04:50] I knew that there was like a relation when you get money for don't worry you should

[03:04:55] he got killed for his it's a very tesla-esque uh the favorite is my favorite oh I love that movie

[03:05:04] I even quoted it earlier and I don't think either of you picked up on it that sounds

[03:05:07] surprising um but look at me how dare you close your eyes did you yeah um shoot yeah

[03:05:15] I missed that one the just I have to like collect myself oh miss weiss so perfect in any role

[03:05:27] I love the scene where she's on the um the shooting range yes that's the one that I was

[03:05:34] going to bring up when y'all when all three of us think of the same moment yeah that's when we know

[03:05:38] it's a good moment um one of my favorite favorite movies is carol oh yeah I hated it

[03:05:48] I thought so boring I'm sorry it's okay it's okay it's one of my like Sunday rainy movies yeah

[03:05:55] okay a lot of my sense but I mean it's kind of slow and I guess that's why it would be a

[03:06:00] slow Sunday rainy movie yeah also just you know I I don't know they weren't they weren't meaner

[03:06:07] thing yeah they just weren't very nice that makes it hard for me sometimes which again

[03:06:12] totally a personal thing it looked good it wasn't that yeah yeah it wasn't yeah it wasn't my kappa

[03:06:21] wasn't she kappa well it was definitely my kappa and I loved how the power struggle was flipped

[03:06:28] from the beginning until the end and it went from basically cape land chat trying to um

[03:06:36] use her you know her cape land shutness to her advantage and by the end of the movie it

[03:06:44] it's not something that she can use anymore yeah and she experiences you know total loss

[03:06:52] and loss of power yeah um I feel like it was really strong yeah yeah yeah yeah

[03:06:59] cool so those are my moments I thought of yeah well I just I thought of a few more just

[03:07:06] if that's cool yeah so the I rewatched it recently I the Florida project Henry did you see that

[03:07:15] not yet it's on my list yeah I still think about it a lot is your mom with the bathtub

[03:07:20] no what oh that's not really a moment where the guy comes in or it's not really it kind of counts

[03:07:25] as a moment it's like a it leads up to that the scenes where she's just in the the bath and

[03:07:31] the music is playing yeah oh yeah and then once it's you say oh god no but there's a scene in that

[03:07:38] movie that's really well sewn in there and then you're just crushed yeah this sorry all good yeah no

[03:07:45] that was a good one no I just thought of another okay there's a scene he's silent

[03:07:50] and there's a scene where it's like the third time where they have been trying to sell perfume

[03:07:57] on the um at that mall I guess it is that's a hotel a hotel and they're um the mother and

[03:08:04] daughter are walking back and you can tell how tired the mother is but then the girl asks if she

[03:08:11] can carry her and the mother carries her the rest of the way really moving it's a beautiful

[03:08:15] like that movie is really powerful I genuinely think about it very often but I gotta say that

[03:08:20] ending that final moment doesn't nail it no it does not at all and in theory it does where does it live

[03:08:27] right now like is there some place online that I can it's on Amazon Prime Amazon Prime okay it's you

[03:08:31] got a it's it's intense but it is so good it's very upsetting yeah on a visceral level good to

[03:08:37] know though I don't know if I've ever been more intentionally upset by a movie to make sense

[03:08:45] yeah like some movies scar you for freaking life but not in the right way and not on purpose and what

[03:08:50] have you but this one is like it's very upset it's very upset and that's why people didn't like it

[03:08:56] like the Chelsea said shit yeah we had people like they were like leaving because they didn't want to

[03:09:01] see people of that class like suffering it was like oh my god like it's like okay great yeah

[03:09:09] but now I'm like extra curious yeah it's so good it's very good well yeah that that'll be my homework

[03:09:15] series yeah um and I don't even like it very much no no you know what I mean I know I know what you

[03:09:22] know I know what you mean there was a lot that wasn't my deal but what's important is what has stayed

[03:09:28] with me is the power of the takeaway and also that to be fair to it there are a lot of cinematic

[03:09:36] um moment like accomplishments that also stay with me the end why'd you got to be like that yeah

[03:09:43] if they just walked in and saw the castle for the first time fine it was a disaster yeah um

[03:09:49] but uh and willem de fault come on so good in that um so a couple kind of more everything

[03:09:57] darker ones always the the Brad Pitt decapitation in the counselor oh is that sorry hot mic that

[03:10:06] is it's actually weird how many times in my life it's come become relevant that I know about that uh

[03:10:13] mechanism but there's this slightly concerning this bolo decapitation um moment and it's it's

[03:10:20] intense it's crazy that movie's not even very good I'm so sorry Chloe but that moment yeah then

[03:10:27] the um the c-section scene in Prometheus I like that I like that one too the um the highway sequence

[03:10:34] in Sicario where there it's that like really okay it's good and that score yeah Roger Deacon

[03:10:42] cinematography you know it's good stuff watch your back kind of um and then one of Chloe's

[03:10:47] favorite movies the um the baby on the beach and under the skin you're the worst person

[03:10:54] in the world you brought up the worst moment in that godforsaken movie I know it's a it's a

[03:11:01] horrific moment I don't enjoy watching it but cinematically it's it's beautifully done and it's

[03:11:07] based on a true he plucked it from real life in the wrong way yes that's too bad he sucks okay

[03:11:15] oh let me make a movie where Scarlett Johansson can be naked and have no personality

[03:11:19] um and let me also show a dead baby that's not dad it's crying doesn't it die no that's mother

[03:11:31] oh there's too many

[03:11:35] wow yeah and that that's about it I mean I have three others but you know I also thought of one um

[03:11:41] you mentioned bathtub which like set off lights on my head beats of the southern wild

[03:11:46] it's one of my favorite movies um the scene where they uh go across the river and they're like with

[03:11:53] the the ladies in the like I still don't understand is it like a club a restaurant I don't know but but

[03:12:00] they like have like mother figures for like two minutes and it's yeah anyway very good such a

[03:12:07] beautiful movie I watched it at governor school and I just remember like tears coming down my face

[03:12:12] like and I didn't even realize I was crying it just like it happened it was so moving on one kind of

[03:12:17] random the um this suburb magazine selling sequence in American honey where shia laboff

[03:12:24] and Sasha Lane team up and they go together that's really good cool classic all right well

[03:12:32] that's that's about it we can do clothes next week next week yeah so and feel free to send us

[03:12:38] yours at the film buds podcast at gmail.com send us uh your favorite moment of the film buds from the

[03:12:44] 2010s oh yeah well hey they can check if it's not on the best of show I mean they're probably on the

[03:12:51] best of show yeah we've really gone downhill since then yeah um all right well in any picks of the

[03:12:59] week for you yes Chloe I finished watchmen oh best show at least of the year yeah oh yeah well I was

[03:13:07] telling her when we saw what did we see together Star Wars Star Wars um I saw the second episode

[03:13:14] just kind of out of out of place but it is so good you didn't see after the you didn't watch oh

[03:13:19] no no because no because my mother was watching it actually weirdly um and I just sat down and

[03:13:26] watched the second episode and man it's really good on re yeah now look that to me is gross

[03:13:32] I hate starting midway through a show oh I thought you met me calling you on re

[03:13:38] I've never done that before French pronunciation is gross Chloe no Chloe my name is yeah no no

[03:13:46] not that um I hate starting a show halfway through but I just I was so curious it's so good it

[03:13:52] doesn't even matter it's so good and I really is this is the thing y'all I completed the series

[03:14:01] still I mean it did not disappoint it was everything it was so good yeah you have to watch it yeah if

[03:14:09] for nothing else Jeremy iron storyline will give you life one of my friends is like very much obsessed

[03:14:15] so like it's going to happen it's so good I do recommend some background

[03:14:24] they they tell you but like not really I was I was still kind of confused yeah even though I'm

[03:14:30] aware of it well they had most of it is not yeah most of its new story yeah but the little

[03:14:35] foundations like I watched a video my dad and I said this on here already I'm so sorry about

[03:14:40] telling you because here you are yeah my dad we watched like one or two episodes whatever and I was

[03:14:45] like this is come here so then we watched like a little youtube video of like what you need to know

[03:14:52] before you watch the watch in series and it was like nine minutes and it fills you in completely on

[03:14:57] yeah yeah cool it was very helpful I will watch that beforehand yeah like I might tell you one

[03:15:04] or two things that maybe would have been it's based on like a comic book right no graphic novels

[03:15:09] yeah it was like there were like one or two things that would have been like little like

[03:15:14] like little reveals but it's definitely worth knowing what you didn't know more than not knowing

[03:15:19] yeah going in completely blind I watch other stuff but it's not coming all right I watched a

[03:15:25] little women but in case you couldn't tell from all my accidental talking about it uh

[03:15:31] stay tuned because we're gonna talk about it next time yeah you have no idea how I feel yeah

[03:15:36] I don't even know how I feel so you really don't gotcha cool and you really need to watch the 90s

[03:15:41] version because it's like I know it's a childhood like favorite memory of mine my grandma like taped it

[03:15:47] illegally from the tv well I guess I don't know it's not illegal then yeah it became illegal it became

[03:15:51] illegal later on but no no no it didn't not from tape from tv none yeah okay well we had a little

[03:15:56] vhs that we did and I used to watch it and like fast forward through the commercials again and

[03:16:02] again until it broke that's childhood yeah yeah so good what about you Henry I watched um

[03:16:11] the new season of lost in space came out on Netflix and my dad is a big fan of the original

[03:16:17] so we watched some of that last night um and it's I mean I really like the characters I think

[03:16:22] it's a fun take on like a space genre um thing pretty cool uh that's about it really okay uh well I

[03:16:34] watched uh Parasite directed by Bong Joon-ho I'm very curious to hear what you have so this one has

[03:16:41] has been getting you know about it I've heard about it crazy buzz yeah crazy buzz like a lot

[03:16:47] of the people I follow in tumblr we're talking about it yeah saying stuff so I'm yeah I'm intrigued

[03:16:54] my interest is peaked I honestly will you know me like I said I'm scared of everything yeah

[03:17:00] and the fact that's called parasite it's scary enough I really it's very it's a deterrent for

[03:17:06] fear I gotta be honest yeah okay Henry's having a moment I'll say the other thing I watched um

[03:17:13] oh god what's called the Catherine Han show on HBO I'm back okay we'll do your thing then okay

[03:17:24] I'll look up the name of that show synergy this one has been uh yeah crazy amounts of buzz like it's

[03:17:31] on a ton of best of the decade lists best of the year lists and it's by the guy who did snow

[03:17:36] piercer oh yeah how did I make that connection I gotta get on an ASAP yeah snow piercer is one of my

[03:17:44] favorite that would be one of that's what would that be a pick chris evans tilda swinton yeah but

[03:17:53] chris evans monologue at the end oh yeah until so oh yeah his monologue at the end

[03:18:00] and that's that's a moment that's all you know one of the kids at preschool calls me mr cloney

[03:18:07] that's really he calls one of the other he calls one of the other teachers mr meg calls me mr cloney

[03:18:11] wow his name is james you met james yeah I don't know if you remember he's one of the cute

[03:18:15] lilies yeah I remember him I have a theory it's very self-indulgent but he honestly you can tell

[03:18:22] like he loves you know he was so endearing yeah he loves me honestly and he really loves meg

[03:18:28] and for whatever reason I think he just calls us mr because the rest of teachers are miss

[03:18:32] but I think perhaps because he loves us the most mr mag Mr cloney yeah I think he called her mr mag

[03:18:38] because you know alliteration and then he was like oh you're like meg because I like you

[03:18:43] right mr cloney I love that it's the mind of a 40 year old wow a bilingual four-year-old hey

[03:18:49] that's how it goes yeah well parasite now I knew nothing about this going in I had watched

[03:18:54] the trailer or anything and so I actually went in thinking it was a like a biological epidemic

[03:19:01] thriller or something yeah but that's not it at all it's a very small scale

[03:19:09] family drama thing right yeah kind of crime drama a little bit but it's about a very impoverished

[03:19:16] family who finds who one of them is able to get a job at a very elite family's home as a I guess the

[03:19:26] first job is a tutor for their child and it's slowly they slowly get more and more involved

[03:19:32] and I don't want to spoil anything else but it's it's really intricately done so well written

[03:19:38] and acted and it's it's quite a movie it's not like I don't think it's as good as some people

[03:19:44] are making it out to be but I think it's still really worth a look and I would go in knowing as little

[03:19:50] as possible okay because it sounds good now that you've told me now that you made the

[03:19:54] snow piercer connection I'm like thank you thank you welcome I'm watching that tonight because even

[03:19:58] like I've seen I don't think I've never watched a trailer but I've seen lots of stills

[03:20:04] and they also just look so like

[03:20:10] grimy it's pretty cleanly shot it's not super grimy really no I don't know why that maybe all the stills

[03:20:17] were there are there are a couple of those but it's it's pretty clean so well I've completely yeah okay

[03:20:25] what can you do and then I watched Jim and I man starring will Smith will Smith yeah will Smith

[03:20:31] and Mary Elizabeth Winstead and this one came out a few months ago bombed pretty hard

[03:20:39] directed by Ang Lee who did broke back like him yeah who did broke broke back mountain life of pie

[03:20:46] he did yep life of pie and I actually thought Jim and I man was okay it's about will Smith is an

[03:20:53] aging hit man top tier hit man and you do to tell me how it's not looper it's there's a little

[03:21:04] looper in there but it's he's an aging hit man who is then is hoping to retire but he's given this

[03:21:13] confidential information that other people within his circle find threatening to where the position

[03:21:19] that he's he's in and so they go after him and the person that they sent after him is a clone of

[03:21:25] himself but a young form which is meant to have the same skill level that he does but have none of

[03:21:32] the emotion or pain that he has after decades of being hit man and it's for the first 45 or

[03:21:41] 50 minutes it's actually pretty good it's very simple it's very tense it's very well directed

[03:21:48] but the ending isn't bad it just gets a little it's underwhelming but I definitely don't think it's as

[03:21:55] bad as people are saying it is there's nothing that offensively wrong with it it's just a little

[03:22:01] man like that you know so I actually thought it was okay I'm not going to rewatch it anytime soon

[03:22:06] but I like it and I like will Smith people are hating on him I like him who will Smith

[03:22:12] who has ever hated on will smith I hear people because because of Suicide Squad after earth

[03:22:17] people are just hating on him hmm I don't like it I mean I think Jean you really revived his

[03:22:23] I think so too I think so too but then this Scientologist maybe yeah it's actually very

[03:22:29] unclear as to whether or not he is still a Scientologist but I mean I feel like it's

[03:22:35] whatever yeah

[03:22:42] then I also watched Rob Zombie's 31 that came out um in 2017 I think and this is a

[03:22:49] this is our longest podcast well done yeah it is it's pretty long

[03:22:55] you're welcome I'm done I'm done I'm done after this one I promise I have some

[03:23:01] for once okay well good I never had any redone I never have anything I know just when you thought

[03:23:07] you were done you know um so this one is a about a group of uh these people who are I guess traveling

[03:23:13] across the US I don't really know and they end up getting trapped in this like madhouse facility

[03:23:19] and it's very much just a exploitation like pulpy kind of survival horror film

[03:23:26] um no thank you yeah and it's it's similar to what we were talking about with Michael Bay last week

[03:23:32] since Rob Zombie for better and for worse is an auteur he has a style I tend to watch what he

[03:23:38] does just because it is refreshingly interesting to watch a film that is very very much of that

[03:23:47] person and of no one else and so that in a way even if the movie is not good I still

[03:23:53] am curious about it and the movie was okay it's pretty simple um it's not overly gory it's a little

[03:24:01] some of the moments are kind of tired but it's it's still entertaining it's only about an hour and

[03:24:05] 20 minutes oh wait just kidding I did that moment I was gonna I did that moment last time on this

[03:24:11] show I guess I really mean it can you guess what I'm gonna say no Michael no my god they all

[03:24:19] have the same name Michael Shannon's finger oh yeah yeah from Fablewater oh yeah yeah but it's

[03:24:26] movie moment that's the only kind of gore I've ever liked in my life was his finger in that movie

[03:24:30] also Octavia Spencer is that a tater tot the best slide in the film yeah I love the movie so much

[03:24:38] and my main issue with Rob Zombie is like his movies are always at 11 like he thinks that to

[03:24:44] increase the drama and to have everyone scream and curse and but in this at least in the first part

[03:24:50] it's not it's pretty subdued and so it was actually kind of enjoyable but he wears and similar to Michael

[03:24:56] Bay he wears his taste too heavily on his sleeve like or and the inspirations I guess as well

[03:25:04] like the Toby Hooper like Texas Chainsaw Massacre home video look is so

[03:25:09] tired at this point and so that's that stuff is a little annoying but it was actually okay I was uh

[03:25:16] I just popped it in I said Henry let's do this and uh you have it on 4k I have the blu-ray right behind

[03:25:22] you or right behind a Henry there on the shelf unbelievable but it was only five dollars I said

[03:25:28] all right all right I said all right Rob where do you find such affordable blu-rays mostly online

[03:25:34] mostly online okay a certain place but what do they say well because this these uh some things

[03:25:45] do not represent the some things of this podcast yeah but this is no look no look I would not order

[03:25:51] from Amazon if places had blu-rays but nobody's going to buy blu-rays anymore even the like the

[03:25:56] best buy set collection is terrible I'm like and there's nobody there he had to have that new

[03:26:03] Rob zombie movie yeah like guys where is it but no but like eat like target best buy all these places

[03:26:11] it's very very slim pickings yeah so I am forced to there's no other noble there I would but the

[03:26:18] prices are like four times they're like 40 dollars yeah per blu-ray it's it's crazy that's why I was

[03:26:24] wondering like where do you get them yeah so it's always so expensive yeah well but and that's

[03:26:30] about it I have other stuff but you know who pays the rest of the cost of that DVD is that the workers

[03:26:36] who uh don't get compensation if they get smushed or they have to PM follows and stuff I know Chloe

[03:26:42] okay sorry workers unite they cover up a murder eat the rich you do hear about that I did one of

[03:26:49] the governors I can't remember of a one of those middle states because they wanted amazon to come to

[03:26:54] them make a bigger thing so they helped cover up this murder that happened in amazon facility did it

[03:27:02] Jesus I made that sound a lot more dramatic than but that's basically what happened yes so

[03:27:08] that is the mail just came I'm gonna go look and see it's already so long should I just do my

[03:27:17] pics while he's gone sure okay yeah I watched oh god it's gone wait oh oh another pick for me I

[03:27:28] started watching the Witcher did you now yeah because I've played the video games so yeah so I was like

[03:27:36] really excited to see how they adapted it and I'm only like one episode in because it's very

[03:27:42] it's the same problem that I had with Game of Thrones it's like so much so heavy but Henry Cavill

[03:27:48] no but but Henry is so good as the Witcher it is yeah I'm loving it so far and the costume

[03:27:56] design is great so that's fun too Chloe I also watched the whole series you don't always have

[03:28:03] an episode of Miss Fletcher Catherine Han show on oh yeah it's it seemed like it'd be super weird

[03:28:11] not weird I guess but not my taste you know a delicate flower but um but um I was like Catherine

[03:28:18] Han HBO I'm gonna watch if it Catherine Hansen they're honestly I'm gonna watch it and uh no

[03:28:24] it's pretty good very emotional very emotional lots of kind of mixed feelings in there which

[03:28:29] is good for a show yeah it's about it's about a woman whose son has just left for college so like

[03:28:36] she lives alone he just kind of college he was like the popular boy at high school and like blah

[03:28:43] it's good if you like my taste you'll probably like it you know what I mean you all know what I mean

[03:28:48] yeah that oh I have a really good one this is a really big surprise wait okay um crap what's called

[03:28:55] it's Norwegian I can't remember what's called it's called it's on Netflix it's Norwegian so maybe

[03:29:00] that'll help you find it it's called like home for Christmas or something I know surprise I know

[03:29:06] but you know I weirdly really like Norwegian shows you know that about me who know I like scum

[03:29:14] because I'm basic sorry Henry it's okay I know you like tumblr so you know about scum yeah have

[03:29:18] you seen headhunters the movie no is it Norwegian yeah well I better get on it it's produced by the

[03:29:25] people who did the girl with the dragon tattoo I'm out then I think it's Norwegian it could be Swedish

[03:29:32] then that'd make more sense watch your mouth then um I really like that show Rita Rita's Norwegian

[03:29:39] yeah anyway I probably won't like scum anymore to be fair it was the highest score okay yeah okay

[03:29:47] anyway change tastes changed to him well he really doesn't like scum we gotta find out about

[03:29:53] that at some point but I mean I'm not surprised it's not I mean it's really just not for me that's

[03:29:57] so bopra but just the way they did it was so cool yeah like they released it a different

[03:30:02] net we'll go into it later it's fine the people who know know the people who don't probably don't

[03:30:06] care okay anyway in any case so this show is called like home for Christmas or whatever if you like

[03:30:14] my kind of like please like me kind of like light kind of rom-com me you know with a little

[03:30:22] heart very good show you know yeah a very fun show yeah well put together very fun show yes

[03:30:32] you gotta read the subtitles but hey reading is important it is yeah and it's not very many episodes

[03:30:38] whatever it's good it's really good okay cool I another one but lucky you it's gone it's gone

[03:30:47] oh I remember it was I watched the new romantics new romantic whatever on Netflix terrible yeah so

[03:30:55] honest honestly so bad unlike so many levels like just don't waste your time it's so bad okay

[03:31:04] I wasn't gonna but I will avoid really bad yeah all right well I think that about does it

[03:31:12] mentally mediocre yeah I think that about does it for the show wow what a I think yeah this is

[03:31:19] definitely our longest running show yeah so Henry I'm glad you could be thank you for
