[00:00:00] Bonus Daily
[00:00:02] Let's get to the Disney animated short film Paper Man from 2012 which was also the 2013
[00:00:10] Academy Award Best Picture Winner for Best Animated Short Film.
[00:00:15] It's on Disney Plus now, if you'd like to watch it and it's directed by John Kars, stars
[00:00:21] himself as well and Kari Walgren that's basically it and the Snapsis is an office
[00:00:29] worker meets the girl of his dreams and uses a fleet of paper airplanes to get her attention.
[00:00:36] So I had seen this one I think once years ago I remember when it came out and it won the
[00:00:42] Oscar and it was a big deal but at the time I didn't really think much of it and I didn't
[00:00:47] really watch many animated shorts but I decided to give this one another look because it
[00:00:54] did leave a mark on me when I first saw it and I guess is one of the more noteworthy ones
[00:00:59] over at the last decade.
[00:01:01] I and maybe obvious I love animated short films.
[00:01:05] I love animation already but there's something that not to say there's anything wrong
[00:01:10] with live action short films but it really shows you the power of movies where you
[00:01:15] can make a three minute, a five minute, a ten minute animated film or just let's
[00:01:20] say short film in general and it can hit you the way a feature film would, the way eight
[00:01:26] seasons of a show would in their own ways and maybe that's being too dramatic but I think
[00:01:31] it's true is like it can change your mood.
[00:01:34] It can change your outlook on something I just personally I love something about animated
[00:01:41] short films there's something about them.
[00:01:43] I think maybe it's the simplicity that they have to be simple because they only
[00:01:47] have so much time and only so much money whereas live action you have more variety I guess and
[00:01:53] options but this one is very enjoyable I would highly recommend it.
[00:01:58] It's very charming, very feel good and it's the kind of Disney animated film that they
[00:02:04] need to make more of like while I like Pixar shorts and I like some of the other cute
[00:02:09] shorts that they've done the style of the animation the black and white style
[00:02:13] it's almost seems hand drawn in a way which I love and it does follow this guy who
[00:02:20] meets this woman or runs into this woman on the subway and then he sees her across
[00:02:24] the street in this other office later on in the day and tries to throw paper
[00:02:30] airplanes into the window that she's in and get her attention doesn't work
[00:02:35] and goes on and on like it's very comedic and lighthearted and it's
[00:02:41] definitely one of the short films like this that I can put on anytime and it'll
[00:02:45] always put me in a better mood and that's saying something and you don't really get
[00:02:50] many made at this quality with his budget very often so that's why I thought of
[00:02:54] it and I was glad to see that it was on Disney plus for many to see so do give
[00:03:00] it a look both for the story and the animation is awesome that's probably my
[00:03:04] favorite part is the overall design and look so that one is a heavy four out of five
